I'm looking at getting this done and was wondering if anyone knew of a good place to go to in Sydney area? I have had some bad experiences in getting work done on my exhaust in the past and I'm just after someone that can do a nice neat job. Cheers

I have the exact same problem, changed the disks, pads and the master cylinder but the issue is still there. Also gone down the path of wheel alignment and balance still no luck. I know 100% my brakes are grabbing cause I'm changing pads every 4 months. One thing I have noticed is that it is a little better since I changed the master cylinder, I'm thinking of changing the brake lines do you think that is the right path or should I give Ford a call.

Nah it doesn't feel like they are fading

Just an update on this, took the car to a mate that's a mechanic and he thinks it is the master brake cylinder, has anyone heard of this failing on the falcons? Also I might ask him to check the wheel bearings before he changes that.

I changed the brakes myself so I know that didn't get done. Can you recommand a place where I can get this done? I'm based in Sydney

I’m currently having an issue with my T where I’m experiencing steering shudder and vibrations which can be felt under the front driver and passenger seats and foot well. I have pin pointed this issue occurs when driving on a long stretch of road where brakes have been applied to slow the car down (but not to come to a complete stop). This issue does not occur with your foot on the brake but whilst driving normally. The only way I have been able to temp fix this is by pulling over on the side of the road wait about a min then drive off again that seems to solve the issue, until you starting breaking again on the long stretch of road. I’m running out of ideas on what’s causing this I have changed the front disks and pads twice (currently running DBA 4000 Slotted) changed the rear disk and pads, done a wheel balance and alignment, also had the rims checked to see if they are buckled. Right now the mechanics think I’m crazy because they can’t see the issue (just my luck). Has anyone had or seen any issues like this? Any idea what I should have a look at next?

Jim Carrey Who is hotter Adrian Lima or Jennifer Hawkins

Just a few quick questions on servicing the T, does anyone have any good recommendations on a good mechanic to use in the Sydney area (not fussed on location as I'm willing the drive if they are good) and also I plan on changing the oil and filter between services (say every 5000-7000) what brand oil and filter would you recommend.

But if you want to start hunting this down yourself before you go out I would check the alternator first, also have you replaced the battery? In my old AU XR6 when I changed the battery it would idle pretty low and come close to stalling and would do that till the computer fixed itself. How is the car idling st startup would you say it's lower then normal

Did Ford ever fix this issue in the BF series?

I've just put on some DBA 4000 slotted on the front and DBA 4000 standard on the rears with Ferodo Formula pads right around and this solved my shudder issue, I wish I did sooner

that's true, but when your on a busy motorway and some little doof doof car goes weaving in and out forcing people to slam on their brakes because doof doof wants to squeeze between two cars tighter then a nuns you know what they deserved to be punished. I'm not a Sunday driver sitting there in the right lane doing 70 in 1110 zone but I will do it to people that annoy me on the road with their retard driving.

I agree with Rated X, so many times I see rice cars driving like total tools weaving around traffic on busy motorways an accident waiting to happen so I do the same thing get myself into position and block the sucker in. Hey I might be a *beep* but at least they are not going to kill anyone. let the flaming begin
-
Yeah I'm going to go for the Ferodo pads, if I have time this weekend I might jack it up and have a look at the bearings just in case that's the issue even though I doubt it

I've gone from an AU1 XR6 to a BA MKII XR6T. The only regret I have is not sticking to a manual dame misses can’t drive manual
-
Is it safe to say that the shudder is caused by the disks? should I be looking at anything else?
-
sorry I was typing this up quick so I don't get caught by the boss

I have been blessed with the dreaded brake shudder and it’s bad it’s gotten to the point where as soon as it heats up you can feel the constant shudder in the stearing and through the brake pedal when you apply it, I have shaved the front disks it was good for a few weeks then it started to come back, then I decided to change the front disk with some cheap ones (biggest mistake of my life) the shudder not only didn’t go away but came back worse (before I only got it going at high speeds). So now I’m deciding what disk combination I should use, I was thinking going DBA 4000 Slotted at the front and DBA 4000 Standard at the rears or should I stop being a tight a$$ and get all 4 slotted I don’t take it out on the track but I am a heavy braker what do you guys think?

Tried it in neutral no joy, but I will try holding up the shifter the next time this happens

I thought I'd check if anyone has come across this problem before, I have a BA MK2 T and on two occasions the car would not start the only way I could get this to start is to change the gears from park to drive then back to park. I have no idea where to begin on this. Any ideas?

Yeah I was having a look at CV and thinking about the stage two I was also looking at the phase one kit at Auto Tech, is there much difference between the two??
-
Thanks for the advice guys, yeah this site is crazy I've been going through this for the past few weeks and I'm amazed with all the mods that's been done, I think I've caught the bug already just starting slow I guess.I think once I see what this old girl is capable of I'm going to be doing some serious modding
-
That sounds great I live out in western Sydney do you recommend anyone? I have heard good things about AutoTech Engineering what do you think

I decided to say farewell to my AU XR6 and have just purchased a BA MKII XR6 Turbo 4 speed auto with about 80,000 on the clock, I’ve had her for about two weeks and I could not be happier. I thought I throw this question out here cause you all seem to know what you’re talking about and I’m about as good as a fish with a playstation, so I’m looking at improving the fuel economy while at the same time looking at a performance increase, I don’t want to do any major moding to the car anything you guys might recommend
