  1. G'day! Bit of a newbie, but I have a nice BA XR6 Turbo 5 sp. Only 110 on the clock.... but getting bored....... feel it's not really so quick anymore and the huge goofy smile when I plant the foot in 2nd seems to have disappeared,,,,,, just wondering where in the northern subs you would recommend taking it for a damn good tune! She needs it big time! live near Epping Thomo, Mill Park etc!
  2. Watch out for roadworks in some of the backstreets in northshore if any of you are travelling there.... Just had 4 x 20" wheels destroyed (Last Friday) by a trench cut out that had a gravel infil that left a nasty ditch! Waiting on the new wheels to arrive before I finally get the XR back.... Was only travelling at 40kph for a road test (Last Friday) to listen fordiff noise just after its rebuild! directly next to it was a drive safely sign, gravel on road, but no ruduce speed etc!

Plugs Done... Throttle body Done.... It is definitely Idling better now.... And It has a bit more punch when the foot goes down! With the plugs I noticed on another thread here that someone noted that its a good idea to re-tape the cables to the coils.... Definitely a good idea... The heat in their degrades the original tape and I noticed that it had worn through a bit.... The rear Allen Key Bolt is a bit of a crappy spot, but the rear Coil/Plug are even worse! This little job proved to me that car dealerships are not worth the money we spend! My bonnet release is broken and so is my oil filer cap! How hard is it to put an oil cap on without breaking the thread off??? Hmm Might ask ford that one!!! Then again, at least they know a bit about the cars they are servicing.. I had a H once, they told me the way to fix break noise is to turn up the radio, Apparently because it was a Late model camira that's how you fix noisy breaks! Thanks for your help guys....

Thanks Heaps for that... I think I may have been told that a few years ago, I completely forgot! Looks like a reasonably easy job now.... At least that rear bolt is allen key.... A bit awkward but shouldn't be to bad....

Thanks guys, Will look in to the fuel filter and Plugs.... Its always been serviced at my local ford dealership. Sometimes I don;t know if that's any better than the local workshop.... The new car warranty was extended to 6 years so after that time to work on it myself..... I know plugs aren't due till 100K, but have bought a new set anyways, now just have to rip all the heat shielding off the exhaust manifold to get to them! My old XH was sooo much simpler for plug changes! I'll check out the throttle body to, I actually forgot that one..... Having such low K's you forget these things, especially now its 5 years old! Scary how time flies some times! I've had this car since 4 months old, Give it the boot from time to time, but not full on every time I drive it......... Is it common for the diff to seem a bit sloppy? Like I said it only has 72K, so It seems a bit to early for wear like I have noticed recently...... Just curios if anyone else has found this to?

It seems ok when I give it a boot full, however I haven;t driven any other XR6T to compare it with. I am more used to driving a dedicated Gas Ute, It seems good, but not WOW, which is how I felt when I first got it a few years ago...

    Rough Idle

I'm new to posting on here, thanks in advance for any advice..... Does anyone have any suggestions or have experienced a rough idle in an XR6T, their have been no mods made, and it still appears to run fine at anything above idle, it runs similar to my old work panel van with a minor vac leak, but their is no leaks on the XR? It only has 72K on the clock...... Thanks.
