1. Read on the manual that came with the boost gauge that I got off ya, Dean, that the metal filter is expendable and should be replaced every 3 months, so as not to ruin the boost sensor. Have you changed the metal filter at all, sparky2?
2. Cheers for the info, mate!
3. cool. Would appreciate, mate. I'm thinking of getting one of these or a Greddy type S. I like the whistle bov's more than the toilet flush/sneeze ones. How did fitting it go? Was it a pain in the butt, or straight forward?
4. That's almost as funny as:
5. Any chance that you can put up a video or sound file of the new bov, mate?
6. Well, there ya go! Drafting isn't all fun and games. Steer clear, kael.
7. I'll take your word for it, and be thankful that I have it much easier. But seriously, I haven't heard of that happening in any of the oil and gas companies in town.
8. Well, glad I'm not in construction then. Sounds dodgy though. Something like that should be picked up in thorough drafting checks, sent out for client approval(!!!) and then the drawings should be issued.
9. Dead right, mate. I'm working where I am now because my middle brother handed my resume up for me. An old mate of his got him in there three years ago.
10. Yep, no worries. Just as long as you're not rushing off naively. There are good opportunities in and around Perth, it's just finding them that's tricky, 'cause no one tells you about them...
11. Wow. No bull, mate, never heard of that happening from any of the senior guys that I work with. I worked on a job that went over budget (read lots over...). Neither I nor the other two drafties on the job copped it. All fell on the engineers' head. So I'm not talking sh*t. Is this drafty an independent contractor doing his own thing, or does he work for a company? 'Cause all our drawings get checked by senior drafties and engineers. And the engineer that approves it has his head on the chopping block. Where I'm working, myself and all the other drafties only have to worry about the deadline.
12.
Hey Guys. Lets get this going, I'm going to do them for $410 plus $10 for Aust wide postage. My retail is $475 but will have to go up to $500 very soon due to the Aus dollar. 60lb injectors, direct fit, plug in, for BA BF, not for FG. ...
$10 Australia wide.
13. Trust me, he could do that as a drafty, if he played his cards right... And if he gets into oil and gas he won't have to worry about the mining boom coming to an end. I've got a mate working for hatch, who do work for alcoa, and he wants me to get him in where I'm at. Last pay review he had (October) was cancelled because shares have dropped. On the other hand, I got a big fat pay rise.
14. Actually, that was exactly what I thought when you dropped off the shift light, haha. Kael, at your age you should be setting up a decent office career instead of screwing your health in the heat up north. Think engineer, draftsman, or project manager. I'm a drafty. Drafting is easy, pays ridiculously well, f*ck all responsibility (that's the engineers problem), and you only need to do one year at tafe full time (which I spent mostly in the cafeteria playing pool... yeah, it's that easy).
15.
Looks like the injector group buy will go ahead mate. Craig, PM sent
Awesome!
16. I'll grab one, but only if the injector group buy works out.
17. Yep, put me down for these, mate. As Ghosti asked, how maybe people needed to make this happen?
18. Noted. When do you shift? I shift outta first at around 4000RPM. Then at around 5000, into third. Firstly, UNBELIEVABLE time for a stock manual 'phoon! Well done! If I get high 13's on my first run I'll be really happy. Second, I understood what you wrote, but I have a question. Is it safe for the engine to be revved that hard in neutral? Couldn't you spool up the turbo revving from say 2000-4000RPM? Will have to give this a go. Hopefully I don't bust anything. :D And, finally, how hard is this to do and take off on the last light on the Christmas tree? lol A mates older brother reckons he'll eat me in his ~240rwkw XR8. I wouldn't mind putting him in his place with my stock Typhoon...
19. There are a couple threads on AFF, I'll dig them up for ya. http://www.fordforums.com.au/showthread.ph...ighlight=Launch http://www.fordforums.com.au/showthread.ph...ighlight=Launch I haven't had much practice with my F6 yet. The first time I tried three runs. Revs at and just above 2000, dumped the clutch and floored it. Bogged down massively. After reading those threads, went out, loaded up the clutch, pulled up the hand brake, gave it around 2000 revs again, and on three separate runs, with slow shifts to second, I think it was safe to say that I managed 0-100km/h in the high 5 second bracket. Not bad considering This is the first manual I've driven in five years. Now I just gotta find some time to go to the drags for some real practice.
