Just so no one thinks that I was attempting to take the piss... I have every confidence that Spiro, with this monster, isn't just going to move the goal posts. I think he will, if things go right, move to a whole new field... Also, I don't have any problem with how Spiro is managing things. I respect Spiro and what he has achieved. That is why I have only posted in this thread a couple times. Peace.

Good luck getting the 9, guys! I'm rooting for ya! This car is a monster.

Are you stopping every 100 to 500 metres? If that is the case then your consumption is normal. When taking off, through first and second gear and into third I see the instant fuel consumption figures reach up to low 40's even with a light foot. So I'm not too surprised that your consumption is that high. The trick is to get up to the speed limit quickly (not full throttle but not slowly either) so you achieve a more efficient fuel consumption level sooner. I normally average about 14 litres per 100kms, but I do like to apply half the throttle pretty often. Most of my driving is highway or freeway, and when I behave I can average as low as 11.0 to 11.5 for a tank.

It wouldn't/won't hurt because the XR8 is heavier than the Mustang. Depending on price point, this thing is going to be serious bang for buck.

Yes, cv's seem to be the problem. The power delivery of the supercharged engine is shock loading them. The problem seems to have been picked up a while back so there might not be too much of a delay. Fingers crossed.

Awesome footage. Love how the front end lifts up a bit between gear changes, and the car sounds mean as. Again, well done to all involved!

That's true, tab. But the testers, who have been testing the engine at 375kw and 620nm, are busting parts. Looks like they need to time to source stronger parts or maybe detune the engines a bit. It all takes time... Not good for FPV if this ends up happening seeing as how FPV sell more V8s than i6Turbos. Turns out it is the diff and IRS. And maybe not 6 months... Also: http://blogs.popularhotrodding.com/6658872/hard-driving/2011-mustang-50/index.html Looks like the 5.0 Coyote as a base is gonna be a great engine!

Apparently the new engine is being delayed for 6 months. Too powerful for the drive train. Source is AFF.

Awesome result, Spiro and Paul! Well done! That 10 is easily within reach, given a good launch.

I agree with andrewd about the 1/4 mile stuff. With near identical 60' times (manual - 2.36, auto - 2.34) I did half a second faster in the auto than the manual I used to have. Ran 13.56 in the auto, with wheelspin off the line. Only had 3 runs, did a 13.57 (more wheelspin), and ruined the last run by trying to launch harder (even more wheelspin, and a bit of smoke too). Has a low 13 in it with ease if I can get traction. Have you taken yours to a dragstrip?
-
Interesting. It should do better than 6 seconds. Did you also turn off traction control? I did around 5.7 in a manual, and found turning traction control off helped me do the sprint a little faster. At how many rpms did you shift when in manual mode? I have noticed that performance auto revs too high (you wanna shift up at 5000rpm latest), and the shift from first to second is faster when you manually shift than just leaving it to performance auto mode. The auto really comes into its own once the car is rolling... So maybe 0-100 isn't that flash... I'll test mine out when I get a chance.

I've heard around 330kw too, but you can count on the power figure being an underestimation to what it'll actually make. But more importantly, this engine will be lighter than the 5.4 even with the blower, and it'll have much better torque because of the forced induction. Rumours are that there will be a more powerful version also...

Over in NZ there was a publication that pitted the FG F6 against two other turbo cars. For the 0-100km/h sprint they recorded 4.82 seconds for the F6. Dunno how that compares to the G6ET, but I've heard of an XR6T doing it in 4.9.
-
Well done on the purchase! Beautiful car, love ego. Shame about the R-spec, but good to see that you went an F6 again. Was wondering what you were going to buy next. Gonna put some vids up on youtube?

Correct! They reset the numbers for each model from BA MkII, to BF, to BF MkII.
-
FPV allocated number ranges for builds at different times in the model years. People were even able to pick which number they wanted within that range, meaning that not all allocated build numbers were used, I.e. there might be a Typhoon with the build number 650, and the next one might be 660. It is a known fact that Force 6s were not numbered in numerical order also. They only sold 63 all up and it is known that the build numbers went beyond 63. The numbers I posted are accurate. Someone made a call to FPV and got that info. If you don't believe me, then try the ford forums. They acquire and collate all the sales figures for each year and for each model. Lots of good info there and plenty of knowledgeable people also.

'05 Typhoon - 429 Tornado - 141 '06 Typhoon - 661 Tornado - 197 '07 Typhoon - 485 Tornado - 153 Force 6 - 59 Totals Typhoon - 1575 Tornado - 491 Force 6 - 59 Accumulated Total for '05 - '07 F6 variants - 2125 Note: 2 things. I don't know if R-specs (of which there were 300) are included in these sales figures or not. I don't know how many, if any, BF MkII F6s were sold in '08. A few Force 6s were sold in '08. See below for '08 total sales figures for F6 variants. '08 F6 Sedan - 537 F6 Utility - 154 Force 6 - 4 You could try ford forums, someone there will be able to give you an exact number, or you could try ringing FPV, don't know if they would help you or not though.

Best of luck! I hope the results are good.

If it's an auto, you should be able to do better. Even a manual will do better, but it won't be easy. What were your 60' times?

Man, I dunno what's going on anymore. Anyway, I've PMed him with the question 'does he have an ISP email address?'. I have also provided a link to the contact page in case he doesn't. I've checked out the contact page. It asks for a valid email address, so I've told him to PM me back if the contact page doesn't like his email address. Fingers crossed.
-
??? PMed you, but never got a response. All good. I'll tell him to try using a service providers email address, if he has one, and if that doesn't work I'll give him the xr6t forums email. Cheers for the responses guy!

I've spoken with a guy on AFF who would like to join these forums but is unable to. Whenever he tries to register an error occurs saying that his email account is invalid. I believe he has tried more than one email address. So I've offered to act as a go between for him. His email address is sg2150@hotmail.com Is there anything we can do?

Took them 2 weeks at a local ford dealership here in Perth. A couple weeks back a BA MkII Tornado had a smashed front bar, and a couple days ago I went for another gander around the yard. The Tornado was sold, with an immaculate new front bar.

308? I believe there are 6l hsv's with a 307 badge. It's kilowatts at the flywheel.

Looking forward to seeing the footage. I've been too busy to make it down. House hunting isn't very fun.
