180,000 mate.....my "expert" mate who knows as little as me but thinks he knows EVERYTHING reckons the diff is stuffed and need a new one. It would be nice to be as smart as him (LOL).....that's why I call on my mates here online.

Boys....I cannot take a trick! Was reversing today and heard clunk, clunk, clunk. Sounds like a diff problem. Any advice appreciated. Thanks in advance.

About to purchase a 2008 Ford from a good mate in Tasmania. Car checked out perfectly so just working on the logistics now....questions....what will I have to do to reregister it here in NSW? Tipping I will need a blue slip but had one done years ago and it was a nightmare! Is there anyone in western Sydney that you could recommend who is pretty "kind" when it comes to these sort of things. I was going to keep it registered in Tassie but my mate is moving to the States and unfortunately cannot use his address! The car is in top nick so I am not overly concerned but from experience, some of these mechanics go over the top when it comes to "blue slips"....any advice. Thanks in advance

Hi Guys, What would be the most common reason for developing a shake in the front wheels. Had an alignment done a month ago and the mechanic said all good but he is full of crap! Still shakes and today it felt like the bloody wheels were goin g to fall off! I'll book it in on Monday but any suggestions would be a great help....I have the IQ of a brick when it comes to cars and repairs! Thanks in advance. Dedogman

Guys, my Turb is developing this habit of wanting to stall on braking. Had a new turbo fitted a few weeks ago and not sure if they have mucked around with the thing! Took it back and of course they claim nothing they have done has stuffed it! It seems worse when in stop start driving when it gets hot. Car serviced regularly......any ideas before I tear my last few hairs out!

G'day guys...got a problem with the Turb guys! Had a new turbo put in a few weeks ago and for some reason (coincidence or not??), the car now stalls 5/10 times if you come to lights etc. Driving me mad...took it back to the repairer and he says nothing wrong with it! Well, not making it up matey! It is gets worse in stop-start traffic and especially when the car gets warm. The revs drop and wants to stall....any ideas gurus? Thanks in advance.

Thanks guys for all of your help....this is why I love this site! I am off to fraud tomorrow to see if they can sort it out...my mate is on so he has assued me he will be kind when it comes to bill time! I will let you all know how I get on....some great advice as usual from all of you guys. Thanks heaps

Okay...throttle body done...no change. Fuel filter done..no change. Looks like I am off to Fraud now so they can extract some more from me....pissed off bad ...as soon as the car is hot, it wants to stall as soon as you pull to a stop! Took it back to the repairer but of course, found nothing even when they took it for a test run. Well I took it up the F3 today and as soon a I got back on Pennant Hills Road and traffic lights, the mongrel of a thing stared playing up! They( the mechanics) must think I make this stuff up! Sorry to anyone on PHR this arvo...it stalled 6 times...I am not happy.
-
NVT...mate, yours must be the litter brother to mine! Exactly the same...when it gets hot it does it more...of course when you take it to the mechanic he takes it for a run, looks at you like you are some crazy guy! I will do what is listed and see how we go...it was only tuned and serviced last week and they said it was flying....it is until you get into stop start Parramatta Rd traffic in peak hour. Mine is an auto mate.

Boys...just had car serviced (BA2 2005) and new turbo, new cat and full service, plugs etc.Problem is now , when car is hot and in peak, stop start traffic, the car wants to stall. Not all of the time but enough to drive me mad....any ideas from the gurus? LOL
-
Hi Boys...just done the turbo in my BA2 2005....what would be the best way to go about it? Do Iget new one, rebuild or try and find a decent 2nd hand one...pretty urgent as I need the car. Thanks in advance.
-
Talking of GPS. I have a Navman that forever falls to the freaking floor! It just doesn't stay put...any ideas?
-
I am in NSW..leather, premium and automatic. Stock standard BA2 2005.
-
Guys, what do you reckon a 2005 BA 2 with 140k on it would go for? It has leather, premium stereo etc. Just had new Turbo fitted, new cat and goes like a beauty.Totally stock standard and F3 kilometres and 11 months rego. Great condtion and always garaged. Books etc.......1 wheel has some scuff marks due to bloody gutters! Colour RAPID (Yellow).....
-
Yep...definately the cat...now the options and what to do? Do I go and replace the thing and stay standard or do I do a slight upgrade (from exhaust specialist) with a 2 1/2" change cost around the $1400 mark for the lot. I think he said cat itself was around $800 although these guys could tell me anything! Any advice appreciated!
-
Boys...it is only happening when I give it a bit eg. up a hill etc.....I will just take it to Fraud on Monday and probably end up having to sell my house to keep the Turb!
-
Boys...heading up Bells Line of Road last night and all of a sudden there is a rattle....first thoughts were a CAT because as it was rattling its head off. However, drove on and next thing, it appears to be okay. Got home alright and headed to Gosford this morning..again, all okay until I put some pressure going uphill and there is "grinding, noisy rattle" AGAIN. Car feels like it is down on power...no lights swithces on, oil was down a little and topped that up, water okay...all dials normal. I realise it is impossible to tell over an internet, but what do the "experts" think it could be...I have the IQ of a frisbee when it comes to cars so be kind boys! LOL

Help Urgent! Car Horn Starting Up For No Reason
dedogman replied to dedogman's topic in Electrics Workshop
Guys, Thanks for your help. MOISTURE was causing the panic alarm to go off...the dealer was telling me that he had a BA1 when new that did it regularly. Don't take your keys into the bathroom or leave them anywhere there is high humidity...it doesn't take much to trigger it! Anyway, all fixed so thanks all. -
Guys, 2005 Mk2 sitting in driveway and all of a sudden the car horn starts coming on for no reason until I hit the keyless lock. Stops for a while and then it starts up again! HELP!
-
Guys, I have a 2005 BA2 Turbo with Leather everything and Premium sound. Auto, colour Yellow. It is absolutely stock standard, never been touched with upgrades etc. and has 120,000klms of which most are highway conditions. Serviced regularly (still has some extended warranty), 9 months rego, and body excellent...roughly what would they be worth privately? Any help appreciated.
-
Thanks for your help guys.....it looks a given that a transmission cooler will have to be added and the one I inspected today has a 1650kg towbar. I am even starting to think about holding off until the new Territory comes out with the V8.....depends I guess on how many dollards Ford will want for one!
-
Hi Guys...can someone advise me as to the towing capacity of a 2005 Territory and is the transmission okay with the towing. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
-
Guys, I spoke too soon! I had the Turb in for its service yesterday and Fraud did the usual with extracting as many dollars as they possibly could before putting me into liquidation! The car was fine...now after a dash to the airport and back, the cars idle seems to be all over the place, especially in stop start traffic with the air conditioning on...any ideas before I call the Fix or repair daily mob. They replaced the manifold gasket....only repair that was needed. The guy claimed the car was perfect.....mmm. Thanks in advance guys.
-
Had mine serviced today (because unfortunately I have to sell it) and even though it has been a dream car, I wanted to make sure it is spot on before anyone buys it from me. The Ford dealer said it was (in his words)" as good a BA Mk2 as he has seen through here". The only thing I have needed fixed have been the brakes and a manifold gasket. Apart from that, it has been sensational. It has 114ks on the clock (majority on the freeway) and has been serviced and looked after like a baby. It is a BA2 Sep 2005, still has factory warranty, leather, premium sound, and absolutely stock standard...never been touched. What sort of money do these go for privately guys??
