  3. That doesn't sound good, hope they have it fixed for your track day! One thing I regret is not changing my brake fluid to a better fluid like AP 5.1.. Even with 6/4 brembos I had brake fade in the 3rd or 4th lap. Will be changing this at my next service, think race brakes sell it for $20 a bottle

I doubt SSL & SSSL will get that low as pictured, I went onto a different brand of springs to get my F6 lower than the previous Kings (SL & SSL) I had in mine, from what I have seen SSL & SSSL wasn't going to be low enough for me. Mine measures 320-330mm from centre of rim to guard (still settling in) and it's an ultra low spring, will get around to taking some pics in a bit.. Save ya coin and maybe go some coilovers

  11. There's a section on xtreme's site that gives a rough breakdown on the FG F6 package plus extras. I added a few more things like Nizpro air intake, battery relocation with dry cell, Nizpro valve springs and xtreme triple plate carbon clutch. Best off cutting a deal with your tuner if you are planning to do a fair bit of work in one hit! I'd be looking at suspension first if you haven't already.. I replaced a number of diff bushes too. Is yours an auto or manual? Power is lots of fun.. you will love your F6 more when you play with it
  12. Don't listen to Ford, get synthetic in to her at 5000km's and change every 5000km's. Ford will like to do the usual 15k interval servicing to keep warranty, they have to retention the turbo and manifold bolts on a regular basis. I have serviced and fixed my cars for the last 10+ years, hate the idea of paying someone to do an oil change - I wouldn't dream getting under mine though.. zero clearance under there to remove/refit oil filter, need a hoist. I get XFT to do my 5k oil/filter change as they do the retentioning every time and ONLY use synthetic. My FPV guys quoted me about $20 Litre for synthetic on oil changes - $140 extra I know what ya mean though, I was shocked to find out that the first 3000km service DIDN'T have an oil change included!
  13. The exhaust or car? Car was a small fortune cause I brought it new and HAD to have my options Exhaust was part of the xtreme package so I don't really know the exact break down of costs... I remember that it was about 1k to upgrade from twin 2.5" mild steel to twin 3" stainless in the exhaust.

  15. Sounds like a bit of a headache.. that's terrible that they would sell a used FPV without knowledge of a tune, im guessing they claim they have done a full mechanical/warranty check.. before the car is actually put up for sale? Hope they can get it right for ya, give em hell!

  17. fpv_ute - I have had my suspension replaced with Kings/Bilsteins and done numerous Super Pro bush replacements in the back end on my FG F6 to try eliminate tramp, hope the utes are a bit easier to deal with.. those tramp bars/rods sound to be the go, good luck with them, keep us posted how you go Nice colour btw! Hard choice between white and black, I originally ordered black and changed it to white.. sometimes wish it was black, ya know how it is - always want what you didnt get!

    Sounds like your are keen for the manual, go for it bud! Never regreted getting mine in a manual my F6 box stock was waaaaay better than my old VE GTS 6spd manual box - which had a rip shifter. Ford have the manuals sorted in the FG's If the V8's have the same single plate clutch as the F6 apparently they are good for 360kw's for street duties

  21. Freeway driving has gone soft in Perth... drives me crazy! I L O V E passing people in the left hand lane cause they want to go slower than the speed limit in the right lane... It's a bloody WA thing, never had issues when I lived over east.. Why have the police stopped POLICING that road rule? Keen for cruisies too.. Pencil me in, I'll show if I'm rostered off work
  22. I read somewhere (may of been on these forums) before I ordered my car that people had problems with that same join with paint peeling off on early FG's.. I'll check mine out tomorrow, post a pic up for us to see

  24. short shifter - don't you like the factory? I thought it was pretty spot on for stock, my old VE GTS had a rip shifter and the F6 gearbox from factory shat on it Go the lowest King springs for it, there is plenty of pics on here to check out, I went SL and SSL and wish it was a bit lower Cant say I had the issues your describing when my car was stock from new or even after I've had it tuned. How much throttle application are you using when the problem occurs?
