  1. FG F6 has a single plate clutch... I didn't rate the standard one that highly, even with stock power I had mine unhappy with a few 'launch' tests

Best I have had my average down to is 11.5L from highway driving with some little squirts on back streets.. its sitting on 12.1L now as I haven't been on the highway a heap in the last month or two. Always see instant fuel around 9-10.5L when cruising on highway off boost Before it was modded and tuned the instant figures never got below 10.6-10.8's

  10. Mate that's a no brainer - GS or F6... you made a good decision and bought well. I paid top dollar to get what I wanted, when I wanted - white F6 manual with 6/4 brembos.. plenty of auto stock floating around but I 'had' to have that combination

  13. I'd personally be looking at intercooler changes before the exhaust, you will need it tuned if you change the cat. Doing the cooler first will be safer and probably give you more gains straight up. I have a manta exhaust, big stainless dump (4-5") into twin 3.5" cats then twin 3" stainless all the way to the back, I went the single side option but you can go dual side exhaust. Goes good for me and won't need changing later if I want to chase some big HP Some people have got some good results just changing the dump and cat with a retune, have a look around on the forums and you will work it out

  15. stock suspension is crap... I had mine on a track for the FPV day and it was sloppy Change your springs/shocks or go some coilovers

  17. The FG F6 manual box is pretty good stock.. I had a VE GTS manual with a RIP shifter and the F6 box is by far better in standard form than the GTS. I don't have a problem fast changing so for me I won't be looking at a mal wood shifter. Ford have done well putting this 6spd in the F6 I am happy with it! that's a good price for the F6, I payed 10k more than that in 2010 to get what I wanted... then added my options on top of that! Be prepared to changed the suspension as the stock soft stuff isn't much chop.. I also changed a number of my diff bushes to reduce the tramp I was getting between shifts. Apparently stock clutch is good for 360rwkw's but I made mine a little unhappy with stock power testing out some the launch control Enjoy the test driving, after you drive both you will know what transmission to pick
  18. Sounds like you want to start softly.. I'd be changing the cooler before any exhaust work, stock exhausts flow ok.. look at dump/cat next on the list

  21. I know location plays a factor, I live in Busselton and Bunbury before... was and still am prepared to make the trip up for my upgrade and tuning requirements when they pop up. You bought your car new? I know the feeling of wanting to get your F6 exactly 'right'
  22. YOZ - I'd be babying that F6 around until you have a cooler sorted! Go have a chat with Simon im sure he would be more than happy to give ya 5-10 mins of advice for what to do when you have your funds sorted. I paid top dollar for my F6 new, definitely researched what I was doing and where to take it before I played with mine. Like I said before, hope yours gets sorted.. and you can enjoy some more power when its tuned correctly

Something doesn't sound right, especially running that much boost Speak with Simon at XFT and some other reputable tuners for the Fords and make your mind up then after you get some good advice from guys that have proven experience in the turbo 6's. The standard cooler isn't quite up to the job for repeat runs on a dyno or repeatable performance on the street or strip, nor is the piping - have you replaced the piping or are you running 17psi through the thin plastic crap? Maybe you have busted a hose clamp on the cooler piping, or even got a split in it.. people have split the pipes running stock boost or 1psi more than stock.   25. Who did your tuning... how much boost are you running? There is loads of information on the forums about people EASILY achieving 300rwkw's with less mods than you have listed.. What exhaust set up have you used? What was your before power reading?
