  1. Thanks Dynowog ! Perhaps I should start a new thread with this question ?
  2. Yeah 274 is where the clutch started slipping, but it completed a couple of proper power runs prior ! Well sort of proper, we need to tune it a bit more once I organise and install a nice new twin plate clutch ! Guess again !
  3. I think we were around something like about 10, maybe a little more (were not looking at the boost gauge too closely !)
  4. Ok, let's see how close you guys can get to the mark ? The car is a standard manual except for the Intercooler and Plumbing, and has now been fitted with an EMS. Standard Fuel Pump, Standard Injectors, Standard Valve Springs ! Let the guessing begin !

Good Call XRDreaming... Looks like he's picked a scapegoat ! Blame the poor guy that was just trying to make sure all the cars got to run !

Yeah, I'll probably need to duck, but what can I say, the setup I did was the same for all the cars. (Let Dynowog near the keyboard on the machine, and look what happens....) I'll just point him to your false low readings first off, then proper ones later ! Driver error I say ! And Hey, I've been hassling Geea about what mine will do once completed, so why would I inflate his figures ? (Of course I know he will still have heaps more ATW than I will, but hey don't tell Geea ! :o )
  7. Bugger..... Ok, it may not have an EMS for tomorrow's Dyno runs then
  8. Dave, Yep, that's what it produced on the dyno ! Bear in mind this vehicle prior to the Cooler and CAI had a healthy 210 RWKW ! It did cause more frequent overboost (Or whatever is causing it) so this upgrade would possibly best be suited to modified ECU vehicles unless the overboost issue is resolved first (EMS is being fitted today!) The vehicle will be run on Saturday so people can see the results for themselves.
  9. So when do you pick it up ? What's the verdict ? or
  10. Gavin, I have had the SL's on the front, and the SSL's on the rear (A combination many have used on the forum) Looks great, lowers it a reasonable amount, and also stiffens it up quite a bit improving handling, but at the expense of a little ride comfort. Much nicer with a lower stance , but you have to be a bit careful on driveways etc some times ! Can't find my pictures of it at the moment, but I'll post if I do ! Pretzel
  11. Dynowog, At this rate I'll be driving straight to the track, driving the day on the track, then straight home again by the looks of it ! Nearly no point even booking a room !
  12. Yeah.... I know we were leaving my place by 6:30, but they are not here yet !
  13. Dynowog, Hey my car isn't finished yet..... You don't have time to be posting on the forums !
  14. Dynowog, I think we should keep them all guessing until Next weekend ! Hey I did tell the Boss about what was happening, she just doesn't realise why I am getting it done ! I guess until she drives the car and nails it (Do women do that anyway ? ) We'll have to see how next Friday goes ! The boss is getting a little upset at the amount of time I spend on cars... Not home before 2:30 am the last 4 or 5 nights, about to drive to Sydney for tomorrow (Race car stuff), and leave Sydney tomorrow evening at about 8:00pm to drive back ! I hope she remembers who I am and lets me back in the house ! The power figures will all be forthcoming later in the week guys, but I believe the install looks Schmiko ! I haven't seen it with anything other than the cooler itself in myself yet ! Pretzel
  15. Hey JB, I think the Thongs must be handed over at time of removal (To make sure Geea doesn't throw one of his own in ) I promise I won't watch the removal.....Ok, I might sneak a glance...... Oh al right, I'll probably look like this !
  16. Bugger.... I should have used I'll get it right next time !
  17. Hey monty_74 (Hey that's the first time I've used that smilie !) No problem, the more the merrier ! There will be a few Stock turbo's so you will be able to get a good comparison against others, or a baseline for your mods to start from ! Pretzel
  18. Hey Macka, I'd say the SR model would be the go, they basically get the XR interior, in the XT exterior (With a spoiler and alloys) Well they did in the AU series and I doubt the BA would be any different ? So put decent springs under it to lower it and control the power better, and it would be a great starting platform ! Although the Diff in anything less than the turbo may be an issue (I believe they are not as strong) Pretzel
  19. Scotty, No problem, I'm currently running stock, this is the first stage of the mods, being cooler and associated piping, with ECU replacement ! I am not really sure what this stage will give me, and I guess I don't really have an end goal, it will be more of a work in progress ! If I was to give a figure, I'd probably say 450KW (600 HP) Sounds good! Pretzel
  20. Vik, This is only my thoughts on how it will flow through the cooler, so if anyone knows better what happens, then please correct me ! Yes there will be some air flowing straight through the cooler, but the volume of air being passed through the cooler would mean that the air will be distributed across the entire core, because the air will travel the least restricted path. If the lower channels are already full of air it will have to then use the upper portion of the cooler ? I'd guess at idle and low rpm, it would possibly be mainly straight through (But by the time the cooler is really needed at higher RPM/Boost it will be distributed across the entire cooler) As I sid that is only my guess as to what will happen, and I did not look into the end tank to see if there was any trick stuff in there (I'd guess not though !) I am pretty sure the upgrades offered from APS, NIZPRO etc also have the inlet and outlets at the same level ! Blown BA, I don't know myself about brand, Dynowog should be able to answer that for us, It looks very nice in real life though ! 51XRT, No at this stage we had only dummied up the cooler to sort out mounting brakets etc.. We will be able to test pressure differences once it is all in I imagine ? I'm not sure why we would need to modify the wastegate when we fit a bigger/better intercooler? but no we have no plans to modify the wastegate (Well at least not just yet, and not for the intercooler upgrade !) Pretzel
  21. Here are some pics of the standard and two optional coolers, the larger not fitting in without some playing around !
  22. No problem Geea, Just a pity the offset was wrong..... As for size, yes I believe it would probably be similar to the APS one This requires no modifications to the car, but any larger starts to mean things like the connectors on the Air-Con condenser need to be moved (Which is an option Dynowog has, and we attempted to dummy it up, I just didn't want the hassle of getting the piping moved for the Air-Con) I think I have a picture comparing the three I'll look for. The piping will be made up by them to remove the crossover, but I don't really know exactly where things will run, my understanding is that the original rubber hose on the drivers side will remain, and a custom pipe from the throttle body down to the front passenger side will be fabricated. As for costs, I think I'll leave Dynowog to respond to that side of things, as this is the first of this sort of intercooler they have fitted to a T they are not able to give me a figure yet. But I will say that from other work I have had done by them, it will be well fitted, and extremely good value for money ! Pretzel
  23. I've decided to start the mod's to the car, and the Intercooler is the first to come. I'm getting Dynowog to do the work, and you'll see some of his handywork performing at the dyno day ! Here are a couple of pictures comparing the standard one with the one being fitted ! This is probably the biggest they can fit easily ! Pretzel

    Brakes scraping

I agree with ZapXR6T Get them checked ASAP any markings like that will need to be machined out.. So the longer you drive, the worse it will get and the shorter the life of the disk (Due to deeper marks being machined out) It is happening on both sides, and getting worse, so it would probably have to be worn pads Pretzel
  25. I'm back now Dynowog, Looks like we'll have a great turnout ! Pretzel
