I have had a couple of different ones on the car so far, but I'd be buggered if I could tell you what they were...... But I know the one I'm running is not your $500 ones ! Pretzel

So if "they are all about drag racing and they have many records and runs on the board when it comes to that" what does that say for them setting up a good street cruiser? Most people get their cars tuned for their own enjoyment, which means midrange driveability etc.. I'd say any tuner can set up for WOT for a quarter mile run. Then it comes down to spending the money to put in all the go fast goodies ! Ask Geea, JB etc.. it's the off WOT that makes a car feel good or not ! Yeah of course people are going to give them a squirt now and then, but I'd sacrifice Quarter mile time for driveability, and mid-rage any day ! Of course I'm not saying the two have to be mutually exclusive, but someone focusing on a quick ET is not likely to spend a great deal on cruise setup are they ?

I think the going on 18 must have affected your time reading skills too..... Looks like at 18 you couldn't get time right !! 6:60.... Ive had a look a few times now, and my clock NEVER tells me 6:60 !! As for me, I'm a big kid at heart..... Just trapped in some 32 year old guys body !!! Pretzel

Macka, with all due respect, the maths you are reffering to is based upon flywheel, not wheel horsepower. Most of these hp calculator web sites use the simple formula hp = weight * (speed / 234)** 3 where speed is in mph, weight in lb and the resultant flywheel power in horsepower. From there, multiply that figure by 0.746 to convert to flywheel kW. Some drag calculators also calculate the optimum ET as well, however this figure is often misunderstood because it is heavily influenced by the chassis set up, tyres, traction and of course the driver. For the sake of completeness, this formula is hp = weight / (ET / 5.825)** 3 The terminal speed however is a better guide to the engine's power and is redilly accepted amongst the professional Drag Racing community as being close to the money. So, with a weight of 3960 lb, to achieve a terminal speed of 120 mph, Craig and Dean need to be producing just over 390 kW at the flywheel (not at the wheels) - which is pretty much where they are now. Hope this helps clarify the the use of these formulas. George <{POST_SNAPBACK}> George, The difference between an Auto and a Manual drag car at the top leve (I'm not talking street car) is probably miniscule (In fact they run manuals at the top don't they anyhow ?) But for a street car, where as you say chassis and tyres etc are not ideal, there are far too many variables to consider..... Put the motor out of Geea's into a proper drag car, weight them the same, and I guarantee you they will be miles ahead of Geea's times due to the car's setup etc.. (No offence Craig, just an example) Then put a manual in Geea's car, and it will again be behind his current time (Because he is getting an excellent result, time after time with the Auto !) Use Brian as an example, he admits to not being a great driver, and has figures very slow compared to what the car is capable of doing (according to the calculations)! So with that being the case, how can you quote a MPH figure as a difinitive indication of a car's performance ? Would it not be just an indication of how good (or bad) a DRIVER is able to use the power the car has ? Pretzel

No he has been on, his just plain ignoring you! Might have some thing to loose? (Credability?) Pretzel

The post clearly says demo run's! Pretzel

But you are there for warranty? And they do the reflash without asking? Opps it wont run right? Pretzel
-
Tuner what happens, when they reflash and it wont run? Or when they see different injectors? Pretzel

The dyno day is on hold! Due to there being no point in not being able to post results. This will now be a freindly get together with some demo runs. Results won't be posted by myself at dyno wogs request members attending may though. Please nominate if you are coming. Regards from Dynowog. Xrsex if you are coming call the wog on 03 9354 1198. So far there are 14 members, here stating, that they are making over peters agreed figure of 235rwkw =280-300fwkw how many more out there? Brian? Who else? Dynowog say's its not looking good for Peter? Pretzel

Due to unfortunate circumstances dyno wog is suspending this auction that has netted $250 so far and will resume it if this matter is resolved! Pretzel

Goldie, The out of hand bit needs to be controlled a bit more, but the problem I see is that it doesn't seem to matter what is said about the EMS, there are the baggers out there that awlays turn it into a thread that will be closed ! Don't see them doing it to Edit threads etc... Why is it that any discussion about the EMS ends up with of all sorts of crap being spouted ? Especially when people that 'should know better' quote figures and things out of context to prove points that just make them look more and more stupid, each time they repeat themselves ! I realise you're not the one doing it, just adding to your comments ! Pretzel

What tracks are they? <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Drag (In XR6T) But I'll fix that soon enough I hope Money allowing Circuit (In race car) But hey with this new head I'm fitting, I may just have the straight line speed I was lacking ! Well done Bruce, Sounds like you're onto a winning combination there ! Pretzel

Well done there Badxr6, really motoring along there ! I ran a best ET of 13.2,and best MPH of 111 out of the two runs I have done ! Pretzel

If you have the car and it's not being pulled apart as we speak, then I'd take it to an Aircon place for a second opinion..... It'll take them 2 minutes to tell you if it's low on gas ! Chips has indicated this is common symptoms, so I'd make sure the dealer doesn't do stuff because they have NFI !! Pretzel

I think they are the same 1/2" nuts that FORD have been using for years Not sure on the pitch though ! Pretzel

Exactly....... Means the plumbing changes are able to be done whenever you want, with no stupid restriction MAF to be left in the system ! Be careful about what you do, I ran into overboost, and limp mode once I put in the CAI and cooler with plumbing etc.. Pretzel

The XR6T does not have an air flow meter, so there is no problem with the air being dumped outside of the system. It works from it's MAP sensor. If it is removed and both pipes are blocked off, the only problem is as you stated about the back pressure against the turbo when the throttle is closed ! If they are left open of course there is the unfiltered air issue, but they were blocked off if you read the bit about the kookaburra noise (Wouldn't get the backpressure if they were open) If people want this noise, and are willing to have the increased wear/risk of failure then go for it ! I ran mine that way for a week or so, but did not like the extra niose, so have it plumbed back in, but with increased boost, and shorter piping, I get the whoosh sound pretty loud ! I'd rather have no noises, but can't have everything ! Pretzel

JB, I'm sure Badxr6 had a stock exhaust until now.... Even mine has run well over 300 with the stock system Dyno'd with the first APS PH II typhoon last week and had more atw that the Phoon had Badxr6 Well done, great results so far ! I can see you reaching the 500+ RWHP soon ! Or is that 600RWHP I can see coming up ????? Pretzel

I think you're getting BlownBA confused with Paris !!!! Understandable though, she goes everywhere with him !

When you have it plugged into your PC, just go into 'My Computer'. You should see it as a drive of some sort (Generally a removeable drive) Just open it in explorer and copy the files directly rather than using the software It's how I always do it with my digital photo's Good Luck ! Pretzel

Hey..... I thought you were going to keep our fuel additive a secret ! Bugger....
-
Hey guys, these Dyno figures were then tested on the black stuff as well ! from a rolling start at say 10-20km/hr up to Umm... .. Speed Limit the two cars were basically the same, with no performance advantage to either of them ! So the Dyno figures were backed up in a side by side test as well ! So that makes them both 300+ rwkw, or what is it supposed to be 260ish ? Can't wait for the power to be wound back up with a better Box and Clutch ! Pretzel

Lawsy, The problem I see is that under power, the correct range is nowhere near what the sensor is capable of reading accurately (It is not calibrated or within spec to be taking readings that rich) Even the Ford ECU will only adjust using that sensor at cruise, under load it reverts to a pre-determined fuel load(I believe). Whereas we are being told the whole process is using this sensor to set mixtures, and keep them in check ! Thanks Street Tuner, It's a pity I was not available to go to the Demo night at Herrod's, I could have asked in person ! Maybe next time ? I still don't understand how this works(Maybe it's just me), the Narrowband O2 readings are only for cruise range (Lean mixtures), so how are you able to use it to set/confirm mixtures under power? Also if you're using your calculated VE% to determine the fuel load required, does that not mean you are putting in a set amount of fuel(Set fuel map), which would not be adjusted by the ECU's learning process ? Does that mean it is operating the same as the factory ECU, and only self-adjusts under cruise ? I have a heap more questions regarding how this works, but don't want to ask too many at once ! Pretzel
