Hi guys, The missus and I are on a round-the-world jaunt for four months and the car will not be moving (much) for those four months, being under lock and key. When I come back, what would be best way o get it back to normal? It's a BA2 XR6T with a 6 speed. She's got about a quarter of a tank of Shell Optimax in her, has 34,000 Ks on the clock and had a flawless 30,000 Km service. I'm thinking I take her on the road, drive her to the servo and fill up, seeing as the PULP in the tank will probably be close to dead. I'll take her for a gentle cruise to get her warmed up and to a car park and do a few lock-to-lock turns to get fluid in the diff and powersteering flowing properly again. No hard driving until at least the third tank of petrol. Any thought or comments? Footnote: * PULP is equivalent AU$0.93c/L in USA, AU$2.40/L in England * In Ireland, insurance will set you back at least AU$2000 on a Nissan Micra, and won't cover the first AU$12,000 of damage (or so I've been told). * In northern cities in Winter in the USA, the authorities salt the roads. Therefore, most people (who can afford it) have a cheap 'winter' car to let rust and a good 'summer' car for driving. * Every second Taxi in Las vegas is a Chrysler 300C, every second Limo is a Hummer H2 stretched. * In the USA, GM, Ford and Chrysler are in big financial trouble, and getting 0.00% finance is attainable when buying a new vehicle.
