From the APS marketing department 5 days ago. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> You crack me up Brian!
-
Hi all, Yes Brians correct that there's 1.2 metres of unnecssary intercooler ducting pipe in the Stage III APS cars and the the Intercooler Routing is terrible for its right above the HOTTEST PLACE of the whole engine bay ... the exhaust manifold!!! Why APS install such a great intercooler then heat the air charge mass up again with intercooler ducting routed right above the exhaust manifold is crazy ... there no method to the madness!! Nizpro's ducting is mounted not by mistake ... almost entirely mounted OUTSIDE the engine bay where the cooled charge air mass does'nt get reheated again. APS's intercooler with Nizpros ducting n intake manifold would be a wicked combo. Bit of mucking around to change the APS intercooler outlet end tank outlet up to the middle instead of the bottom. Food for thought

POWERGLIDE?????????? Did the superior Getrag 6 speed get lost in the mail between here & Germany
-
No, a digital camera is sufficient. Here's a picture of the T56 gearbox, clearly seen above the APS cat & exhaust. The picture was taken at the Brisbane show. Brian Hmmmm, Nice pic Brian ... if I'm not mistaken that looks like a Tremec T56 6 speed  Whats a darn "TRUCK GEARBOX" doin in the APS Phase III+ ?????
-
Hi all, Please don't get your noses out of joint ... I just find it so COMICAL of APS to belittle the Tremec T56 6 speed then fit one to their own car!!!!!!!!!!!! After passionately telling everone about the T5's CATERPILLAR D10 strength it's all of a sudden been VERY QUIETLY pensioned off!!!!!!! Don't take all Peter says as gospel you guys
-
Hi all, Has anyone else heard that the APS car at the Holden/Ford car show recently in Brisbane was fitted with a gasp ... T56 Tremec 6 speed!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! So much for all the RHETORIC APS carried on with about the Getrag being far far superior. One wonders what made Peter chance his tune and fit such an inferior product as the T56 Tremec to his car. :blink Cheers
-
No problem at all .............hope this info helps..........see I can actually speak about this from practical experience............which is more than you can............see action speaks louder than words. Regards Peter Hmmm interesting; thanks Peter, Just as a matter of CURIOSITY & general knowledge for all forum members " how many engines have you pieced together with your ACTUAL own 2 hands"?? You sound like your an expert when it comes to engine building and design Cheers
-
Hey Peter, Thanks for the "only for SAFETY recommendation regarding upgrading the rods" and also reminding me the rods lasted the 10.98 second distance in the C&V car .... Very reassuring
-
Sorry I must be confused, you are looking for an outside opinion on an unreleased product ?!?!? Does anybody have this option installed other than APS???? Hey Jteal, Maybe ... just maybe theres other tuners within Australia who would like to comment on APS 420 RWKW feat with claimed stock engine internals running on 98 RON fuels ... MAYBE THEY'VE ATTEMPTED THE SAME FEAT???? I'd like to know their thoughts ... NOT YOURS Is that ok with you Jteal Cheers
-
Exactly what are you setting out to achieve? Suggest you take Trumpy's advice and ask APS and report back. On an aside we're still waiting for those dyno graphs you promised for the vct recalibration.............And how many extra rwkw's were released? Hey 3rdTurbo, Thanks for Trumpy's & your own advise re/calling APS  If I'm trying to gain AN OUTSIDE OPINION OF A PRODUCT ... DON'T KNOW ABOUT YOU "BUT" THE LAST THING I'D DO IS ASK THE MANUFACTURER!!!!!!!!!! Thanks again for your advise though ... much appreciated Cheers
-
If you are that interested, call APS and discuss it with one of their people. Then report back here. Saves a lot of meaningless internet tripe. Hey Trumpy; Thanks for the advise on calling APS  Be more interested in hearing FORDTECH'S opinion or Cam's opinion from Knox Ford ect ect ect Thanks again for the suggestion Cheers
-
Hey Trumpy, Thanks for pointing out Peters reply to CNC's question ... I don't wish for Peter to reply but rather ASK OTHER PEOPLES opinions of the APS 420 RWKW feat with a stock standard engine running on 98 RON Fuel. Cheers
-
hi all, Yes engine life would be umm interesting As for a Phase IV component adding 70+kw .... that's some component Everyone knows the block core shift with these engines is bad and rod integrity no better sooooooo a 400% increase of boost pressure = what Remember stock boost is 6PSI cheers
-
Mate, become a Donating Member and you could read what people think of this sort of posting ... alot of people getting sick of the constant "my D!CK is bigger than yours" sort of arguments ... I am sure you have a great car ... as does APS ... please leave it at that ... I realise you don't believe them but it could be true ... Just trying to put some sanity back into this place Hi Jteal, Thanks for your concern also ... much appreciated! If you think I'm comparing pen*s sizes all well and good; for you need to stop being an true believer and question some of these claims. Yeah it might be possible to produce 420 RWKW with a stock XR6T engine on 98 RON fuel soooooooooooo you try it and get back to me Cheers
-
Hey Cobra, Don't stress ... just asking other people of their opinion ... but thanks so much for your concern anyways  Cheers
-
Hi all, Just like to know everyone's thoughts (especially the known engine tuners on here) regarding the APS Stage III + ACHIEVING 420RWKW with completely stock engine internals & running on 98 RON PUMP FUEL!!!!!!!!! Is this possible ... I would have thought detonation would be unavoidable running 22psi boost with 8.7:1 compression ratio with only 98 RON fuels Be interesting to know everyones thoughts .... cheers
-
Hey Scotty, Yeah maybe I have another issue ... BUT funny how my symptoms are the same as everone elses. Like Jeff I've had all the PCM Reflashes and the Canister Purge Valve Solenoid replaced but to no avail. Surely a little oily film from the crankcase breather should'nt hinder the throttle bodys performance to the extent the car stalls? My new Throttle Bodys been in use 3 months now and I've just pulled it off ... there's only an ever so slight oily residue ... nothing really ... Many other brands of new cars have the Crankcase vented before the throttle body but dont stall Best of luck to anyone carrying out this new FORD TSB on cleaning the Throttle Body to fix the stalling I think I'll just add this to my FORD TSB's WITCH DOCTOR VOO DOO LIST to fix the stalling problem being Canister Purge Valve Solenoid, PCM B30 Reflash and now Throttle Body cleaning cheers
-
Hi all, The throttle body DEFINITELY isn't the problem ... I've had the throttle body replaced with a new unit and my car still stalled the very next day!! I've replaced the Canister Purge Valve Solenoid, Throttle Body, Throttle Pedal Assembly and the Engine Wiring harness in that order with 2-3 weeks driving between each item being replaced to see if there's any real difference yet my car still STALLS! My dealers shortly replacing the PCM with a new unit to see if that resolves this issue! Luckily I've a very helpful dealer who's determined to find the source of this very annoying problem despite my car never stalling WHILST he's driven it! Will inform everyone if I rectify this issue :cussing:
-
Hey Basher_tsv, Thanks for posting your dyno sheets from Bob Hawkins, looks like the utes making good power on 95Ron fuel that's for sure ... am very very jealous :o Is it still running nicely with no idling/stalling issues? Also hows Vern s car going ... has he installed the APS Phase III kit yet? Cheers
-
Hi all, Peter not very forthcoming about auto mods eh In regards to transmission life with modded XR6T's (250rwkw and more) only request owners for advise on what they've encountered! APS and other businesses have told people the manuals will be fine with a redline oil change ... BUT you ask the believing NOW owners of these kits their opinion Geea seems to be having a good run with his modified auto so maybe that auto shop has addressed the issues adequately to stop the auto failing ... time will tell BCL01 Brian has solved the problem in the manual cars by replacing the gearbox with a T56 6 speed ... a much more expensive fix than replacing your oil in your T5 5 speed  Why did he go to all this expense ... the T5 is unable to handle the TORQUE despite what brand gearbox oil you use cheers
-
Hey Basher_tsv Nice to hear your utes running well and your very happy with it ... sounds like fun to drive that's for sure. Be interesting to see how Vern's Dynolink 238RWKW compares with Bob Hawkins Dyno Dynamics Shoot 6 figure cheers
-
Hey Basher_tsv, Yes Bob Hawkins is an accredited Dyno Dynamics Dealer with the latest shoot 6 software ... it'll be very interesting to see what RWKW figure your ute can muster on that dyno! It's such a shame that 98 RON fuel is not readily available up here I priced purchasing Shell Optimax in 200 litre drums up here in Cairns and the cost was $270 per drum Think we've just got to be happy with 95 Ron fuels by the look of it unfortunately Has Vern fitted his APS Stage 3 kit to his sedan yet???? Be a good comparison to see how much difference the larger intercooler and relocated airbox make to the RWKW figure on the same 95 Ron Fuel over the APS Stage II kit in your ute. cheers
-
Hi Basher_tsv, Sounds like your very impressed with the APS stage II kit which is good to hear. Have you dynoed it on Bob Hawkins Dyno Dynamics Dyno yet ... be interesting to see the power reading in Shoot 6! I hear Vern's putting an APS Stage III kit in his sedan shortly so that'll be a good comparison of the difference the larger intercooler and relocated airbox make over the Stage II's OEM components ... Do hope alls well with you and the ute continues to impress cheers
-
Thanks Peter, Be interesting to see if Shell is a superior product to all the others in the 95-96Ron Segment as well Wissssssh we could readily purchase Shell 98Ron Optimax from the Service Stations as you do in Melbourne. Shell 98 Ron Optimax is available .... but only in 20 & 200 litre drums Be good to see the power figures you quote for the 95Ron Fuels
-
Thanks for your reply Basher_tsv, Be great to see Bob Hawkins dyno reading in shoot 6 mode when you redyno it in 2 weeks. I'd love to know what power the APS Stage III would produce on 95-96 RON Fuel ... have asked Peter in a post I did here but he's not at all forthcoming! Can you ask him for me next time your on here since your a known APS customer? Might get some answers .... you never know  Actually I recall the APS stage III car running on 96 Ron premium unleaded at the Adelaide Ford/Expensive Daewoo Car Show and it developed I think by memory 411hp and was beaten by a Nizpro Stage II which was running 98 Ron Fuel! Maybe someone can verify that for me?
