  1. I got mine from the sponsor city ford a couple of months ago. I was jerked around by a couple of dealers , rang city ford and they had the car at the price I wanted to pay. Service has been the best I have had (1 service only mind you) for any car. my 2 cents worth
  2. If you are spending the money to get a nice car.. why not get a nice colour too! Not something that comes in a MAzda, Nissan,Festiva, holden,Daewoo, etc etc etc. Our cars are unique, and highly wonderful, why not have a colour that says as much. And I aint refering to undercoat here either. Funny thing, on the 3000 service the mechanics scraped the front bumper near the fog light (drivers side) and guess what.... my car was once HgAg.. and someone painted over it with blue print...... Lucky for me too........ much nicer colour.
  3. OK , just booked at Horizons, so I'm in. Can't wait  my car has only just made it to 5000 K's. I'm also looking forward to putting a few faces to some of these posts!
  4. Any room for another possible starter?
  5. At last... a topic I can actually help some one with. OK the problem sounds pretty easy. It sounds like you have to much signal going in. You'll need an attenuator, as to how much, that will be up to the TV guys. I can't recommend any one in particular, but will ask around and find someone reputable. PS I am selling my digital set top box ( DGTEC DH-2000a) cost me $795 if someone wants one, its only 6 months old, and hardly ever used.
  6. I just put the philips crystal vision in my low beam and they are terrific. I couldn't be happier with the result, nice bright white wide light. With the foggies on it covers pretty much every part of the road you would want to see at low speed. I put the other philips H7 in the hi beam. they are not blue, they claim to give off 50% more light than standard. Anyhoo the guy in the shop said they have a much better distance than the other more blue lights because the blue coating actually looses some of the lights power???? Anyway, I got em and can recommend them, they work great for what I want. my 2 cents worth.
  7. I wouldn't change a thing, dealer car and especially the colour are all perfect. The options I chose are just right, I guess from many years of practise in choosing new cars. This one (touch wood) will easily be the longest car I drive... its a beaut!
  8. Well I am impressed, what a great team everyone on here makes. Your of course right and my old 7 pin plug fits straight in. everyone who replied I only wish I could help out in some way with an audio question etc. Thanks a million
  9. I agree with Zeke... best I have ever had! It bloody feezeing within a k or so..... cant stand it on max.. even in Sydney heat. turns everything blue my 2 cents worth
  10. HI Everyone I hope smeone can help me. My T is now 4000 k's old and I decided to take a load of rubbish to the tip. I went to plug the trailer in and found a 12 pin plug on it? I went to the auto shop and he said it was very rare. I rang my dealer and they said that any repco store can help me...... wrong! All they can do is sell me the plugs and I can wire it myself (they cant get me the wiring diagram) :( So here are my 2 questions if you know 1. What plug have you got on your tow pack. 2. does anyone know where I can get an adaptor from the 12 pin plug (XR6T) to a small round 7 pin plug (trailer).

    Car Parks?

:biggun: I bet you would like to kill em. I feel for you as I know (judging on my last 3 cars and my job) that my first scrape is only a matter of (a short) time.

    Tyres

I reckon the SP3000 are the loudest tyres I have ever heard. I am in Canberra tonite after the cruise down from sydney........ jesus they are noisy. I will not be buying these again...... way to loud for my money. my 2 cents worth
  14. HI Everyone Just to let you know I have been running 40f and 36r as suggested here. it great... everything seems to be working perfectly. Except when I get wet tyres on a smooth concrete car park and spun the wheels without even trying. The traction control couldn't even contain it.......... on dry road however.. its great. my 2 cents worth.
  15. Looks Great.. I Love it.. and as you said... stops sh t getting sucked in will go and order me one at the 3000 service!
  16. NOt to put a dampener on things.... but 300 km is a mighty quick speed and needs more than just sheer muscle. So given that conditions aint great on the day (it will be in Melb of course  ) I reckon around 278km my 2 cents worth
  17. Congrats hope you can wait that long!.......its well worth it

    Big Brakes Anyone!

HI Peter 17" for me.... I can't afford 18" of rubber every 8 months. I would pay approx 1500- 2000 for new good brakes as it the only point that so far I feel can be better in the car (for the money). my 2 cents worth.
  19. what sound system do you have? standard or premium?

    Tyres

HI Everyone I have been doing a lot of reading on the sort of tyres that are available, and quiet frankly am completly confused SO I have thought of an idea and thought I would share it with you..... That is a tyre shoot out, we all need new tyres at some point and I for one would like to know which ones are the best for my car. As some posts here have pointed to a car mag shootout using a Expensive Daewoo as the test car. They also found that tyres other than the standard are better for that vehicle. I am not interested on how fast I can go around a corner or take off from a set of lights..... but I do want to know how fast I can stop if a kid runs out in front of me.Lets face it, how many of us actually push there car to the point where the car is about to slide... hopefully we are all more responsible than that on public roads! The alarming thing in the Expensive Daewoo shoot out was the huge difference in stopping distance from 80km......In real terms it was the difference between missing the child or collecting the whole 3rd grade, I know which tyre I would be choosing. So.. whilst I have no experience with testing, driving or organising such a thing, maybe a few people who have could add a post and let me know your suggestions. Being in sales myself I am sure that with our current membership and all the XR's that are currently moving off the lots in Australia every tyre manufacturer would be itching to get a piece of the pie???? (except maybe dunlop) I guess there are 2 ways to do this:- 1 we lobby a car mag to do it for us 2 (the most likely one) we do it ourselves. PLease let me know any thoughts you have on this as I do a lot of driving a year (40K) and see a lot of stupid things that I need to avoid. my 2 cents worth, thanks for reading
  22. Seems I have something in common with another T owner ... the love of small fast cars.... but I'm not from NZ.. lol.. here they are in order.. only the dates have been changed to protect my sensibility. 1st 1975 leyland mini 2nd 1974 GT clubman (2 x 45mm weber) 3rd 1966 mini cooper 4th 1968 mini cooper S (BRG) 5th (and now the second best car I have owned) 1968 mini cooper s (red) 6th Laser 7th Subaru RS turbo 8th corolla panel van 9th toyota RAV 4 5 door 10th Mitsubishi magna exec 11th Ford EF wagon 12th BMW 525 13 th Mitsubishi magna exec 14th Mitsubishi Magna sports (2000) and now fianlly the best car I have owned......it handles like a little car! THE T!!!!!!!!!!!!!! and looking back up the list... I have had a different car every 1.25 years of my driving.... glad I'm locked into the T for 5 years my 2 cents worth
  23. I have a completly stock engine/ exhaust system in my 1 week old car and would be happy to put it up for a dyno test against another to see what power differences there are. Just PM me if you want to do it sometime.
  24. I had an RS turbo years ago.. great car except the clutch... anyhow I digress. The T is an awesome car lots of punch and the reason I bought it...... it handles way better than most cars of 1600kg + mark. If your in Sydney there are loads of dealers who can take you for a spin. City ford, Thompson and Brad garlick to name a few all have them ready to drive. Anyway mine is now 350Km old and I am more and more impressed with the car .. lol.. except that I am babying it around atm so the last tank of gas only lasted 300 km's CAnt wait to open it up llike I did the demo car. my 2 cents worth... PS.. dont listen to the girlfriend.... If I had listened to mine I'd be driving a Hgag thingie........... to team blueprint!
  25. Im interested..... can it be all red?.... that would look great and match the turbo badge on the back for me. thanks
