Umm, forgive my ignorance, but how would the $4 broomstick "hi-flow" the cat. I had a look at mine and you have to remove the whole exhaust from back of turbo to well after the exhaust splits into two. I was wondering how one would get around this, just out of interest of corse.

Guys in dyno comps spray NOS directly on their coolers to get that air as cold as possible to make as much power as possible.. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Think you will find that's CO2 (liquid nitrogen) not NO2, you will also see guys spray their intercoolers b4 a run donw the strip! <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Just to clear things up CO2 is Carbon Dioxide (As found in some fire extinguishers and would do a good cooling job) N2 is Nitrogen (whether liquid or not) NO2 is Nitrous Oxide (No, it's not flammable) Cheers Cheers

The way I read it the original question was standard GT or XR6T + PHASE II which would be better and quicker for getting around in. The GT way well be better but I disagree that it would ever be quicker Oh and I do appologise obviously not being present I can not possibly say the event didn't happen, I would however suggest that it was not indicative of the relative performance of the 2 vehicles. And no I only have PHASE I+ installed and my opinion was based on my own experience vs. GT's on the street. Sorry if I came off a little harsh I just started back on nightshift again Cheers

Okay, I'll bite The F6 with only 270Kw can chop up the new 6.0 litre Clubby 80-120 Km/h Rolling in Gear Acceleration, done by Wheels not Motor ---------------------------------------- 3rd 4th 5th 6th Club 297 : 4.0 / 5.7 / 7.5 / 12.8 (both clubby & F6 tested same day) F6 : 3.8 / 4.7 / 6.6 / 9.6 APS Phase II XR6T ~330 Kw with god knows how much torque regular mid 12 sec 1/4 mile Standard GT ~290 Kw lucky to nudge very high 13s for the 1/4 Was the APS Phase II XR6 towing a boat maybe? <{POST_SNAPBACK}> By the way I didn't put it there for a stir... Wheels or Motor only do 30-40km/h increments...To me this does not tell the whole story...If you read what I said it was from 60 to 180km/h...he didn't race off the line... I am not bagging the APS phase kits...only demonstrating that a lot people underestimate the performance of the GTs from mid to top end..and the same also goes for the LS1 commodores... <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Look I understand you made a decision to purchase a GT for a whole bunch of reasons, and having previously only ever owned V8's myself before I got the T I can understand that there are some things that I miss (noise, instant throttle responce, FEEL etc) that will never be satisfied by the T (or any other non V8) no matter how quick. That being said if someone asks for opinions on these two vehicles in the context of making a purchase, and you can honestly sit there and type in that you SAW a GT pull away from a phase II T then I am afraid that I for one am going to yell BULLsh*t as loud as I possibly can. There are a lot of really good reasons for preferring a GT over a Phase II modified XR6T, HOWEVER performance (in a straight line) can NEVER EVER be one of them.

Hmm...why does the tourqe (and as a result power) drop away at ~3700 RPM ...???

It's the same reason ALL of the Jap manufacturers have no cars with higher factory quoted outputs of more than 206 KW. To appease government concerns over escalating power levels all the manufacturers had an agreement not to produce cars with more than 206 KW, however they have been breaking it for years on the sly, never ever pay any attention to factory figures for Jap performance cars listed as 206 KW. Although I think at least one manufacturer has openly breached the rules just recently...maybe the EVO, I'm not sure.

Come on, surely you don't REALLY believe that the R34 GT-R has only 206KW

Does anyone know if the auto has been upgraded since the release of the BA. I sort of remember a post listing an auto part no. that meant kevlar bands from factory
-
Ummm..Are we all forgetting that the famous Phase III HO was officially quoted as having the same 300 hp as the GT, and even the HO was officially short for Handling Option. The fact that none of it was true in no way detracted from the image of the car. I for one don't mind the idea of lip service to a Japanese style power limit of say 300KW. At least it takes the focus away from quoted factory FLYWHEEL power figures and makes us all concentrate on only how well the car performs. Everyone remembers the legendary performance of the Phase III - No one remembers it was only listed as having 300 hp.

18 inch wheels are NOT required for the Premium brake option, 17's are just fine. Unfortunately its the first thing every dealer will tel you "what you want Premium Brakes ahhh you will also need the 18's then ......"

Yep, at about 80 or 90 K's if you floor the throttle the auto drops back 1 gear thinks about it drops back another and then bang big thump. I think the time it takes the box to work out whats going on allows a little bit of boost to build and that's why the thump (it brings the traction control light on) Could also be the Unichip

I have about 40km of private road at work, most of it dead straight. My T Feb 04 build certainly has a speed limiter that I bounce off quite often.

I have the "sports leather" and I am really hapy with it so far (3 days). The door trims also have the suede inserts, which look really good IMO. Had the perforated leather in my old AUII XR8 and you definately slipped around more than this new stuff (not at all ) Cheers
