  1. Group A definately, VL, Forget the VN, my old man bought one and like the typical VN, things didnt fit right. For the money. not good, duel throttle body V8 went though. My pick would be the CV8-R. They are a majic car and look nice sideways (cough, when its parked diagonally)
  2. I'm hangin with the Pope, almost sitting right on top of him.
  3. Oooooh Lordy! That is THE best movie ever. Downloaded the techno music that plays from the stolen Porsche, great ot have pumping during "urgent duties driving". So, who is up for a moustache ride? Ramathorn is that how it is in Mexico??? Yes I have the tune as well. I have rocked up to a job a couple of times with it full ball and watched the other crews roll around the ground in laughter. (make sure no media is there though...not good). Ever been distrated doing the repeater...it'll happen............it'll happen
  4. That sticker will indicate to go off the digital readout only for calibration evidence. BA Turbs, I hope no Vic Superintendants are surfing this site. If so you may have some country service ahead of you. I agree with you though. I behave and still get sent to the Cape stations.
  5. In QLD I dont think a superint. would know what a ticket book is. The only time where hear from the bosses in their work cars is when someone has done something damn stupid in front of him. As with BA's statement regarding the car, it s true here as well. A Police vehicle is a Police vehicle regardless and is moved off the depot floor fully claibrated and certified saying so. It sounds like he is a Traffic Superintendant and if that is the case than his evidence will be precise and convincing due to his level of experience. One thing you have to remember is that all he has to prove is you exceeded the speed limit as that's the element of the charge. You will not find the alleged speed in the charge, its only a part of the evidence. So basically you have admitted to the officer you did 85km/h whch is all he needs to win. I wonder though if there is more to this story??????????
  6. Two words "super troopers" Watch and learn
  7. ABC 123 now that's imagination
  8. true god???? Tell me more, It would have been a sweet drive
  9. It is a great drive, even better when your paid to do it. Rex range on the north side is good too then finish it off with the Port Douglas to Cairns road. A nice round trip and no you will not find out the record from me. Mack might see me one time (as a blur down his right side) Occuptation: Crowd controller, undertaker, debt collector, mediator, silencer, pasifyer, judge jury and executioner.
  10. someone didnt swap your suspension for AU suspension without looking maybe.
  11. umm, I'll have what hes having Seriously, The man plays cricket for Australia that's all. He has own opinions and beliefs. Any man without these is no man at all
  12. My mate has INX 250 (in excess 250km/h) Another had OFDACLK (off the clock)
  13. Well I im exhausted. Mr MOTO has some valid points and like people who possess such intelligence and confidence and skill there is grounds for contradicton. In one of your log winded and very thorough posts you state that you would possess more skill than a newely trained officer who has done a 2 week course. You are absolutely correct, frankly im am quite frightended by some officers ability as drivers. However you contradict yourself is stating you can stop quicker that most people. Are you talking about reaction time or are you challenging the age old laws of physics. Nearly all new modern vehicles are fitted with ABS, this requires the firm application of the brake and the system does the rest. I really hope you are using a non ABS vehicle as an example and talking about braking to the last point before lock up. If you can beat individual vehicle sensors and lock and release mechanism you are good. Again another point is your ability to control front and rear wheel skid. Lets just say if your in a front wheel skid than your in a world of hurt and obviously dont possess decent enough skills to prevent it. I will beat you hands down if you adopt this method of driving through corners. Adopting the system of car control and preventing the vehicle to "brake out" will give you more time once you have negotiated the corner to apply max power. I would be impressed as I looked in the rear view mirror at your big power slides but you would be behind me and I would go home with the girl as I crossed the line first. Another point you make is a good driver wont stop at a stop sign in optimal conditions etc. If this was the case with that particular intersecton then it would be governed by a give way sign. Engineers take factors in consideration when deciding how they will be governed. Stop means stop, not slow down cause you think your better than that. If a man was bashing you over the head with a base ball bat and you told him to stop you would want him to stop not slow down as he wallops you. that's how clean cut stop means. The driver may be good but also a risk taker which is a fault in a driver, this then contradicts good. Your comments are good and interesting but at the same time you are human like the rest of us, do not belittle other members because you dont agree with them, if you wish to continue this then you should run for parliament. As for illegal searches when looking for what I want. Reasonable suspicion. Radar detector detector going off when you pass has been argued and is case law as reasonable suspicion. Totally legal search. As Plonky says there is sufficent legislation there to use. You tell someone to open their boot to check that it has a spare, totally lawful, wow whats that in the boot, a dead body. Its called chance discovery, this then evokes other powers to seize the vehicle for obvious reasons.
  14. an absolute rubbish colour. I had a close up look at an XR8 in that colour and think its a pi$$ poor attempt at Holdens Hothouse colour. Back to the paint machine in the local bunnings for that designer
  15. funny how no one mentioned accidents at all. I went to one the other day when one lost it into the other. I was showing him bits of bone from his leg that I was picking up off the road. The bone marrow was a lovely colour. Not preaching guys but food for thought for ya
  16. Before Plonky elabotates on this topic, a good mobile radar operator will only operate it when his physical observations tell him the vehicle is speeding. I bet I can operate it and lock a speed on before many people can activate the brake pedal. Yes the detector will go off if a vehicle in front is being detected. However this will not always be the case. To answer Zaps question, last friday was the last time one was seized. There is a ticket but I like to start proceedings and ask the Magistrate for an order to destroy it. Its easier for me that way. Also I ask the question, if you spend 1,500 to 2,000 on a detector, that's a lot of tickets you have to get off before you get your moneys worth. Hows this. Your caught with a detector detector around an airport and the tower is contacted and it interupts their beacons or equipment. Commonwealth charges may result. Dont laugh I have heard of it done.
  17. Not true, in Qld anyway. I carry a radar detector detector for detecting the radar detector before the detecting detector detects me tryng to detect them. Seriously if someone has one an alarm goes off in my car and I pull them over and have the power to search the vehicle. The radar detector is seized and the offender is sent to court. Its not an offence to have one but carry one in a vehicle is where its naughty. Heres a doozy for you. If a truck carrys 300 units for delivery does he commit 300 breaches???? I will let you stew on that for a while.
  18. I have driven a work car with the normal package and now we have taken delivery of the new one with the premium upgrade I can say they are much better (as if they wouldnt be) They do have a tendancy to scream but they hold out in heavy braking much longer. They look good too, the slotted rotors. I dont see the $3000 value to an everyday driver, definately over kill. But hey if you got the cash, what da hell. You know what they say about people with big feet????
  19. dont buy white ones at the auctions, dont buy them at all, for the love of god dont do it nooooooooooooooooooooo. were turning them over quite regularly though due to the service making money on them, (1,000). our new ones now come with the upgraded brakes package and are being auctioned for the same money, dealers are going to be the ones who collect on this.
  20. I recon spiderbaits new version of black betty is dangerous. You see his car in the film clip, no airbags at all just a symbol
  21. curious

    ute register

My mate recently took delivery of his black XR8 ute, it visited herrods first for stainless exhaust and has some lovely 19" rims on it and lowered nicely. I will post some pics of it. Cold air ind. etc. This thing is lovely and sounds beautiful, will get back to you.
  22. Yes ive ripped one off, scraped the rear, dinted the skirts, chipped a rim, smashed a gearbox mount etc.. oh by the way did I mention it is now a retired police car about to be auctioned in Brisbane, buyers beware
  23. Queensland used to have organised meets with two vehicles called COP THIS and COP THAT. They were quite quck VS commies. Pollies pulled the budget. As we all know the pollies are the ultiamte power and never make mistakes. However they often get on the turps on govt. planes in prohib. areas. (tools) These illegal meets are just that. No marshals no safety gear, no medical staff on stand-by. This would be the reason a mate of mine died 10 years ago as a spectator. I do not need and refuse to say any more on this topic as you would all gather how feel about it. And as for the 100 year old comment that I usually get by the road once a day "why arnt you catching real criminals, where are the drug dealers" There is traffic to deal with traffic. Drug squad to deal with drugs, JAB to deal with kids. Specific sections to deal with specific areas. Simple isnt it. :hiwelcome:
  24. I should have also said that it didnt faulter whilst I was driving, but I dont know how long she would have kept up. Ambient temperature 33, adrenilin 100%, crazy eyes fully focused, stereo up and running, we even managed a wave from some lovely sweedish tourists. A good day all round. This car is with us for about 1 more week before a brand new one arrives. Brisbane can sought it out I suppose.
  25. I find that after a burst of acceleration and then heavy braking causes it? Heat has never been a factor seeing I live in a climate that rarely goes under 33 and humidity that will melt you away.
