  1. AMoffat, Your life experience is not uncommon, we deal with normal persons like yourself and all persons within this site (myagi is a little energetic but I presume to be a decent person) all the time and to be honest it is a breath of fresh air when I have to deal with the "riff raff". If a person exits the car without being confrontational then I welcome the gesture. It's not folding. I hate to be viewed as feared but endeavour to be treated as you would any other person. I know we hold a position of power and would be foolish to say that it is not abused. I wish I could but cannot speak for every officer in the world. If you exited the car to have a conversaton with me then I would do just that. If I issued a TIN then it would be warranted. There are too many people commiting offences out there to make it up. If I looked you up and down and in the car when you exited then it was for the purpose of my safety to assess the level of threat you are, once it is established that you mean no harm to me then we have a conversaton. People do take these gestures personally but most officers mean no malice by it. I feel the need to explain this to negative the many "urban legends" ou there regarding Police. Damn Hollywood. Drive safetly
  2. yes very nice, maybe you could car pool.

    Calder Drags?

Greg, I was waiting for the "boom boom" at the end but it never came. Now I feel cheated. Was there supposed to be any relevance to the XR6 Turbo from this Ben Hur production. Come on Greg, get out and sell something and earn your pay. ;) <---- for the humour impaired. Peter APS what about a fully kitted Hyundai excel with wicked spoiler that is taller than the rialto building. Would it catch it at full legs over the quarter
  4. that's it that damn ute is over the pits to find anything that may be wrong. Hang on you tail light is out.......smash. We dont need your help weve done an engine and gearbox already. drive safe all

    I Love My Turbo

    hi-fives all round
  7. 1. Agree, wrong. You have assumed that. Evidence was sufficent, TIN issued and paid by offender 2. Is not a vehicle that runs a red light on a school crossing serious. I dont exactly understand what you are saying. If they dont call the Police straight away then how are we supposed to respond?????? 3. Have you heard of an official Police notebook and notes at the time??? Obviously not. Let me tell you a story........ Police check speed on multilane highway doing southbound. Standing in middle. Hear a vehicle travelling northbound, turn and check speed which is 37 over the limit. As he approaches obtain plate and description of driver and vehicle. Unable to intercept due to large volume of traffic and centre dividing lane. Officer thinks no worries will visit his address after this. Attend address no one lives there, officer thinks well he got a way with it. However 3 months later intercept same vehicle speeding. Remember original offence and notes made at the time including, time date place, offending vehicle, descripton of driver, LIDAR serial number etc. "excuse me driver do you remember an incident three months ago on ''''''' road at """" time on the '''''' date?" "umm sort of, not really" "well I remember it well cause I took notes at the time and I checked your speed at this" TIN issued. Time consuming, not when this is your core job description Time consuming is someone barking about a topic thay have no real grasp on. You talk about emotionally charged. I do believe you said "get out of the car and stand level with him, dont let him stand over you at any stage" Dont get me wrong but this sounds like emotion to me, what if it was a random breath test???? I wouldnt care less if you got out of the car all puffed up like a puffer fish, it sounds like you were the school bully to me. I am polite at all times with members of the public even young drivers such as yourself, did BlueXR6 get a ticket.....no, but a verbal caution. Anyway I could go on and on and on, but you will learn........the hard way.
  8. 36 all round and you wont go wrong. 34 if you cruise. Rolling on 17" will kill them everytime
  9. dementia is a cruel thing?
  10. This will be my first ford and am nervous about collecting it now due to all the problems. I am wondering how many have been produced though and the percentage of problems?????
  11. Dont worry about pics just open your griler and look inside. Sorry couldnt help it
  12. Ken you can go all the way to stage 3 but you have the HgAg speed limiter engaged. Dont waste your money, instead focus on the Danos Direct sew as you go self tought video. In relation to Peters approach I second Ken's compliment, I just hope no one steals one of these, it will be hard to catch and worse off wrapped around a tree when I get there.
  13. APS should upgrade all Police XR6T as we provide a good day to day road test (flogging). Please Please Please. Pleeeeease.
  14. and put little neon lights in them as well.
  15. Ill probaly buy myself some new jocks.......the rest of you are talking way too much work. You can use my old jocks as Kens new colour sceme, vast improvement.
  16. I dont know whether I agree with this strategy. Not being from a capital city and experience their problems I dont see its relevance where I am. If a person is working in those hours they will be permitted to drive. If they have an open licence holder with them they are allowed to drive. I can see the headlines now. FEMALE TEENAGER MURDERED CAUSE SHE COULDNT DRIVE HOME. I dont agree with how the media do it sometimes but we live amongst the collective and the power of the many will roll this one me thinks
  17. think outside the circle. Tunnel vision wont help you here. Here is an example. Crossing lady reports offence regarding vehicle 123ABC and gives driver desription of running red light. She puts report to her boss who forwards it onto Dept of Transport. O/C dept forwards letter to O/C traffic Police as he cannot investigate. Time frame so far 2.5 weeks. O/C has mountains of paperwork due to incenceivable amount of idiot drivers and winger letters from people who recieved a speeding fine but was racing home as the ice-cream was melting so should be waived (true story). Complaint takes 1 week before assigned to individual officer for investigation. Finally it reaches me and I have to find time to take statement from crossing lady who wont give up time watching Ray Martin. Finally take statement and then search for idot driver. Find driver and interview who denies all knowledge of course. Time frame for total investigaton 3 weeks to 5 weeks. Now this is a local vehicle example, imagine if it was from a town 500km away and had to be forwarded on. As for D.Driving your correct but that's not what we have been talking about is it???????? As for it holding up in court, been there done that. P platers.......ten foot tall and bullet proof then run off crying when they have learnt the hard way Blue sorry was directing at you previously. I would put it down as a "we are watching" bet you will be mindful when you think about t again and looking over your shoulder, and that's the outcome Police have been trying to achieve
  18. does it come with a free set of steak knives
  19. this does mean you have to wind the seat right back so you cant see over the dash and wear a scarf around your head and have an attitude 24/7
  20. no, its not about rights. Its called the statute of limitations. That scenario is unlikely to happen but if warranted would. Im stating that just because you did not get pulled up doing the offence dont think your home and hosed.
  21. what it needed was some nudity........An orc maybe in a thong soaking up some rays from the great eye. :augen: Maybe they will release in a few years "Behind the ring" an insider look of what really happened. Tantrums thrown, b**ching and fighting amongst the crew. Gandolf loading up with rum and doing nude runs through town. Gollum with his elastic spine and missing ribs showing off his party trick. Arogorn and Legolas finally showing there true feelings for each other and retreat to the blue sorcerer bar for some shandies.
  22. you can also get it from autopro or supercheap. Its basically like contact paper. You cut it to the size of the lights. May prevent a breakage
  23. Now dont start moanng about your encounter. If he wanted to he could have issued you a ticket. If he has given you a verbal warning then accept it. You have not denied the offence. I see more offences off duty than on, naturally everybody is in their natural driving mode. Most people are aware of what an unmarked car looks like too. Im not saying that I work 24/7 but when a fool comes up beside me coaxing for a drag and takes off at the lights with smokng tyres and doing 120 in a 60, there is nothing better then seeing him at the next set of lights with him staring at me. I then remove the badge from the pocket and press it on the glass and watch the jaw drop. I wind my window down and tell him ill see him tomorrow to give him a ticket. Basically you can be issued a ticket for a traffic offence within 12 months of the offence date.
  24. damn it.....another ticket code I have to remember.
  25. im 199cm and 107kgs. I sat in the WRX and thought I was in a sardine tin. Even at your height the seat would have been all the way back. No good if your carrying passengers. Different strokes I guess.
