    Warranty

Dealers have a factory fund for every new car they sell, so they actually charge the labour for warranty work back to FMC, in other words warranty work = workshop profit to a degree of course. In my book it's all fair and equitable. If you think they are unfair and youv'e spent $50000 + on a car then a good yelling and screaming (civil content) works well. I've never had to do it with a Ford Dealer , but Expensive Daewoo man I found them shocking. that's one of the main reasons I came back to Ford, that and the magnificant T of course. Perhaps after sales srvice is the luck of the draw and should be more uniform?
  2. All governments lie to all of the people all of the time. Hows the WA transport minister, once done for DD. What a joke, but the people are slowly waking up. Personally I'm in favour of the don't pay your speed camera fine and elect a court hearing instead. Clog up all the court systems and get the police back to doing what they should have always been doing, SERVING and PROTECTING, after a year at PR school before the public have to put up them. Police yes, highway patrol, just another name for ignorant arrogant egotistical bast@rds, and as for the fact that they are so despised, well we all tend to get what we deserve in the end
  3. I am upgrading to around 350 (engine) kW in Jan and was wondering if anybody has any actual real info on auto trans modifications (beyond just winding more pressure into the auto) and more importantly valve springs, part numbers, does the head need to come off for spring replacement, what type of springs etc. There doesn't appear to be many mechanical and/or auto genius's here in the far west. Any info would be greatly appreciated. A fantastic and prosperous new year to you all.

    Warranty

My dealer has the, if the chip didn't directly effect any particular issue, then the warranty is still valid, have already had the diff and brakes done, they know I have a Unichip, and still fitted my DBA gold and pads for nicks when they replaced the diff (new one still whines though) so it will go back for another in late Jan

    The Lemon

Been there done that, the period noise at 95kph is bloody annoying, I have just had mine replaced and it does exactly the same thing. Obviously whoever makes the diffs BTR I think has supplied FMC with a huge batch of faulty ones. Take it back and demand a loan car till it's fixed, that tends to make them extract a digit.
  7. Mate you have a hot running high temp engine, you need REDLINE, it costs about three times the price of mobil one but has a heat and crack sheer strength about twice that of mobil1. Pricey oil changes, but worn engines are a lot more costly

    Tail Shaft

Mate that's definately the rear brakes dragging, it seems for some you either have the drag or no hab nd brake
  9. Hi Peter. Mate how right you are (time) I don't have to spend time at the coal face any more. I train hypnosis to psych's and medicos and run courses once a month, they go for five days, so 25 days a month I'm lucky I have something to keep me amused, and what better than a T ?. Anyway your unichip is great and I'm a starter for your exhaust system after Feb 1st. I'm hanging to see what kind of power the unichip is going to give me with some high boost and the bigger intercooler after those FORMAZ boys get the car back on Jan 12th. I would hve spent a lot more with you guys if you had broken your kits, but I also understand you have a protocol to follow. Anyway Peter have a great xmas & New Year and keep up the good work, 'll keep you posted of the gains made with the bigger cooler. Cheers
  10. In the larest Wheels magazine it says that even the normal police in NSW are referring to the Highway Patrol as Jury Wreckers because everybody hates them so much. I am a 45 yo doctor and I hate them and havn't had a ticket for years. At you can find some solice in the fact that they were usually the kids who were hated at scool and now only have their peers as friends. Who wants to spend the early part of their life hated and then the second half hanging out with pr!cks and ars@holes. Mate he was probably just another jealous wa*ker with an ego problem
  11. Sorry to hear about your dramas. I went through a similar thing but got it resolved Some they do and some they don't, and some you just can't tell. Time for you to start screaming at your dealership. It is amazing what a raising of vocal frequency can do to inspire action, shouldn't have to do it I know, but it usually works. I'm pleased that I picked a terrific dealership. I had a few probs as well and they fixed everything, replaced diff etc, even when they knew the car had been modifed. Hang in there because when they go well, they go well.
  12. Also look at 56mainlines airbox intake mod, but use a 105mm coupling, well worth it for the extra low down response
  13. PWR in Qld. They have a 600 X 660 X 70, polished aluminium, made to bolt straight in with the inlet and outlet on the same side so you lose 30cm of tubing and apparently only get a 1.5lb restriction. It will look better on the car than sitting in the spare room where it must remain until the 12th of Jan when the workshop opens again. I can't wait. Only $895 plus $300 to fit, plus $1000 for bigger injectors, plus $1000 for brake upgrades, plus $950 for exhaust, plus $1695 for unichip, plus $650 for airbox, plus BOV, plus wastegate actuator spring (prices as yet unknown), all equals 15lb boost, and ooops I just figured out what all this has cost aaaaaahhhhhhhhhhh! Still should be good for 350 - 380 engine kWs.
  14. Finished off my twin 2.5 system yesterday. I've had a Manta centre muffler, mandrel bent with twin 2.5s, anyway I fitted the compatable rear muffler yesterday in anticipation of fitting the new intercooler. Wouldn't you know it another $400 down the drain drone drone drone. It gets bloody annoying when all these people want to do is exagerate and grab your money. Their excuse, the fitters, is that they wanted a sports system that sounded sporty, their opinion of a sporty sound is something akin to an EA SPAK with the rear muffler chopped out. If you don't want the drone DON'T go for a MANTA rear muffler.
  15. Brian you are dead right at 20lb + of boost (madness) brakes woeful. You can however buy a brand new long motor for $4800 + $2000 to fit and you are right again stiil it would be awesome :w00t:
  16. I'm with you NT TURBO. Owna if I copped service like that, I would just stand in the dealership and start screaming. O r even better stiil park it outside thre dealership with a Lemon sign on the roof and an arrow pointing to the new car lot. I did that once to Armstrong Expensive Daewoo in Brisbane once over a crappy VS I bought. Time it took to get them to come to the party, 23 Minutes! Don't put up with a fob off like that especially at xmas time. Anyway get onto Ford themselves and demand a new box like everybody else seems to get if they need it
  17. BMC Panel filter is great. Centre Muffler, No No No No No. Also the 105mm plumbers coupling is a much better fit for the airbox adaption. Better still go the entire XR8 pod setup and see the thread for the standard T intake to fit into the XR8 Pod as well, plus a BMC pod filter. Now that's breathing air
  18. Mines an auto and it will thump occasioally changing down to 1st at vry ow speeds
  19. alxrt You get the whole lot mate, including the extra pipe as per MS700. You just have to bolt it all in

    BRAKE SHUDDER ISSUE

I had similar high speed stopping probs with the standard jokes. Went to the DBAs drilled/slotted with FERODOS and havn't had any problems at any speed except for the pccasional mild squeal and dirtier rims. Well worth it to know that you can stop quickly, comfortably, and consistantly. Ford should wake up to themselves. Standard Ts are like the old E49 Chargers, BRAKES, WHAT BRAKES?
  21. The system gives you a full XR8 setup with intake behind the headlight and also the XR8 box is modified to allow the original standard T intake to fit into the side of the airbox. Result air from under the bonnet (as per standard T) and also from behind the headlight (as per standard Xr8) twice as much flow, Also the whole setup does look better than the photos. It looks good, is very effective, and can be fitted in 10 minutes,
  22. The one I got looked a lot better than what the pictures show. Outlet tube is black and the standar T bonnet intake is utilise. Regardless you can definately feel the extra air in the performance side.
  23. A damned good investment I reckon, nice blokes too. Such a shame their are so many rippoffs out there ducatijb. JUST DO IT, get your T a Chrissy pres. This is the best noticable value for money bolt on I have bought so far. Also staring at a PWR intercooler 370X365 bolt in $875 (twice factory size with 1.5lb restriction) Jan 04 will be an interesting time
  24. I think I definately began to lose power when I chopped out the centre muffler. The Dyno that was used to first install the UNICHIP still gave a twenty kW lower reading after it had been fixed. If I had to do it all again I definately wouldn't remove the centre muffler. I have come a long way since then, changed injectors etc. Took delivery this morning of a PWR intercooler, twice the standard size with only 1.5lb restriction. Now I can only stare at it until FORMAZ re-open on 12th Jan. With this in, a bigger BOV, and stronger wastegate actuator, it should blow 15lb of boost quite happily. I have a twin 2.5 stainless Manta centre muffler at the moment, getting rear bit fitted on the 5th Jan with high flow cat. Had an xcellent cold air mod fitted today (see post). So 400kW (motor) is the target for Jan.
  25. Hi all Missed the site when it was changing over. I have found an excellent very effective and cheap (compared to SS induction) airbox mod from Brattern Performance, that bolts in in 10minutes, (no cutting or chopping). The system incorporates an XR8 airbox and lower intake with an adaption to attach the standard T intake into the airbox. I had one fitted this morning and immediately noticed significant low end and mid range responsiveness. This is what you get in the kit. Modified XR8 intake pod, XR8 intake tube, pod hat, tubing, K&N filter, plus brackets. All fits in in 10 minutes and there is a definate torque gain. Heres the good parts. It looks pretty much stock, there are no deflectors to steal cold radiator air, the K&N filter is included and best of all only $350 all up. SS without K&N over $550. These guys are located in Perth but have been supplying this modified box for XR8s to incorporate the T inlet on the sidewall of the box. They will send anywhere. Well worth the money for the gain I reckon. Phone Barry on 08 9294 2784
