  1. This is far worse than any GST could ever be, plus Howard or the libs never got into bed with Green loonies and never said they would not introduce a GST. I've never voted Labour and never would what good is any party that takes from the wealth creators and gives to the lazy and nipple suckers? Plus I don't give a crap how much it costs to run my F6 I wouldn't have it if I couldn't afford it, maybe soon none of us will be able to.
  2. Mate I'm a therapist. I come over here to help all the so called rich and famous get over the lambastings and lies they cop on TMZ and Entertainment Tonight. Good money but the novelty wore off a long time ago and the USA is in freefall economically and socially. But there WILL BE a Party in Malibu tomorrow night, then 10 days work and then back to WA WA land. It is very surreal to fly into Perth and look down at the big country town I tell you.
  3. Wash your mouth out with soap you poor disillusioned individual
  4. Arrived in LA this morning and caught the Avis bus to the LAX rental car depot, to pick up a car and go another 1/2 mile to the Marriot LAX. Turned on to Century Bldv and ran straight into what appeared to be an RBT stop. Compared to Aus this was like a supersized job and no body was interested in breath analysis. I only hope it never gets to this in Aus. Here is the scenario. 5 cops with red flahing wands pulling people over while 10 or more others cradle shotguns, or AR15s, and look like menacing combat troops with Flak Jackets, helmets, tasers, pistols and all sorts of other violent paraphenalia hanging off themselves. I stop and a female (well at least I think it was) approaches me and says keep your hands on the wheel sir, then come the questions. Whose car is it? Where are you from? I answer and then she asks for my licence while insisting I keep one hand on the wheel as a larger rock ape type clutching an AR15 meanders over to help her in case I'm a crazed murderer or something, and stares at me like I'm a criminal. Then I am asked to put the four fingers of my Left Hnad on a glass pad which I had just done a little while earlier at the US arrival and immigration. Is this a legitimate drivers licence (re my WA licence)she asks? Then says wait here and keep your hands on the wheel please sir and struts off to check my license while rock ape boy keeps staring at me like I'm some kind of felon. Then a few minutes later she comes back a little more relaxed and says "Oh you have only arrived a couple of hours ago, sorry sir you can go now, please enjoy your stay in the USA". I think WTF they must have everything centrally connected in their computer system. The weird thing was there was no drink or drug tests at all, just commando style cops harrassing people. I hope it never gets this intense at home but you can see it going that way really quickly. America is definately not the home of the free and the land of the brave any more. It is the home of the homeless and the land of the scared. Might just be my last trip to here me thinks.
  5. I have always been a vocal greenie despiser, and now their bleating has got us a carbon tax, apparently of which 10% goes to the UN for environmental programs funding. Now I just found this someone needs to get rid of this thing and her bunch of lying cohorts before its too late.

    Brake Pads

Project Mu are very good, quiet, work well, and almost no dust.
  7. Don't know about laptops but I'm over there all the time, going back on Tuesday. I use simple calling sim card, cost 4cents a minute to phone anywhere in the world, saves the grand larceny of a 4 or 5 thousand mobile dollar bill from Optus.
  8. Maybe its in the front end? Check front hubs (wheel bearings) mine was similiar until I replaced them.
  9. Clarkson came out here in April and had a 335 from FPV and gave it back with shredded tyres; I know because they leant me the same car a week later. I saw a writeup he made about it in a UK newspaper the SUN I think and he canned it. He bascically waffled a bit about how good the HSV is or Vauxhall whatever, then said about the GT 335 that the engine was great but the rest of the car was a poor handling poorly built plastic waste of time. His final comment was "Why Bother"? So there goes any chance of his credibility with me. Sure like all cars it could do with some improving here ahd there but so could the HSV. I always thought Clarkson was a tosser the Aus version of the show is complete crap and the Euro version has become more of the same.
  10. I can guarantee you they do Dags
  11. Hey XXX F6. As I said in my write up I have had other DBA discs and never had an issue with them, I think they make a slotted and not drilled. To be fair they do make a great product but I was just peeved because it felt as though I was going to go around in cirles with DBAs denial of the issue with SOME 4000s when even their supplier was aware of it. I wouldn't buy DBA again simply because this fiasco has cost me over a grand and wasted my time, and with DBA 4000 miles away it appears that my only option would have been to get the car to Sydney or for them to fly someone over. I had an email of disapointment from the DBA manager about my post today and still a denial that 4000s can do this even though three workshops have now said it is common with Drilled and Slotteds and not just the DBA brand either. When my Brembo Discs go onto the car if there is still a rattle I will happily admit I was wrong on these forums and publicly apologise to DBA, it will be interesting to see what they offer me if I was right, but from my communications so far I would say it would be 5/8ths of sweet FA. The post was to highlight that if you get the 4000s and you happen to have an issue, if you don't live in Sydney where they can check it out it appears you are on your own. To my way of thinking a company that has an issue with a customer a long way away should have said we'll give you another set and when they arrive send your present ones back, they are as good as new FFS. Anyway this is the only set I have ever had an issue with so don't discount the product entirely because they are generally a very good disc. Mine are being replaced with Brembo's again and the DBAs will be going onto Aarons car in Perth. If his car starts rattling in the wheels well that will say it all, if not I will apologise and retract everything I have said. If you need a new set of Discs give Matt at Racebrakes in Sydney a call. Cheers
  12. Hey Luke, at least you won't have to put ear plugs in whenever you have the window down, or suffer the embarrasment of people staring at your car as it goes by rattle, rattle, rattle. These things will probably be good for track work but they make so much noise that at over 80kph the swishing sound is just like wind noise at 180kph. Have to say they stop well though but they are definately not suitable for road use unless your DEAF. Hey Arron, got your message I will call you when I'm back in WA WA land and drop them off at XFT Monday week. Cheers
  13. Goooooorne to a good home, or a nice car, in WA WA land. Saves me having to wrap and pack them.
  14. I bought a set of DBA drilled and slotteds had them fitted then buggered off to the USA. Came back and noticed a rattle, got told it happened sometimes and they would bed in, 3 service centre checks to make sure all is OK and they just got noisier. Anyway to cut a long story short, after various emails of denial by DBA that their discs can do that (they seem to be the only ones who don't know with this particular model disc)I got pissed and did what I should have done in the first place and bought a set of Brembo Discs. Therefore I have a front set of gently used DBA4000 Gold Drilled and Slotted discs to fit 4 spot Brembos on a BA/BF Typhoon and/or probably a BA/BF GT that were given the 10 stops from 80kph to almost standstill run in when fitted and have travelled less than 500 klm. Anybody who doesn't mind an incessant rattle when the window is down is welcome to them for the price of Freight. I will be getting the new Brembo's fitted up at the end of next week when I get back to WA WA land so first in for these rattlers owns them, or its off to the tip with them. As far as DBA is concerned their discs work well and DBA Steve did contact me, but the ball got thrown to someone else who gave me every excuse in the world including, its hard to diagnose, and (get this0 having wrong pads FFS. The sad thing is I would have been happy to pay for anything else they had that doesn't rattle but they were too busy denying there is a rattle issue. Maybe they were scared I might ask for a refund or something. Its cost them a lot more by going into denial because I don't give a rats bum about the money its the waste of time and frustration that peeves me. I also now question the integrity of the company as they continue to deny that thses discs do rattle when everybody else in brake world knows they do. This makes DBA either uncaring, untruthful, or stupid. If my company gets a complaint or has as unhappy customer we do an immediate refund or replacement no questions asked and then throw in some freebees to boot, and if the head of despatch didn't he would not have a job if I found out about it. After fitting their discs to 5 FPVs the acronym DBA has a new meaning for me now. Don't Buy Again If ya want them pm me and they are yours.
  15. In fairness to DBA since this rattle issue has come to Steves attention, DBA have communicated with me for more info re the noise in a timely manner. Thanks for your help Steve.
  16. Ford premium sound, especially the rear sub and speaker = mega crap. They only way to get any decent sound is to bin the junk and start again. I had Alberts car sound replace the junk sub and speakers and drill a wooden template onto the lower part of the rear parcel shelf and then DynaMat top and bottom. World of difference and some real boom boom boom. I have not met a sound person, or any person for that matter, yet who has had anything positive to say about the rear sub and speakers. A few do comment positive about the head unit though.
  17. I was feeling quite good until I saw those photos
  18. Hey Bomber, you sound like a sales rep for CES, a bigger Dump, Cat, and Centre Muffler fcuks the 12kw theory completely. What you should be saying is that a 3.5 inch system might, depending on the vehicle, give a standard car 12kw more if fitted to a standard system than what a rear Quad system will. A quad system on a standard car will not rob 12 kw, and you can lose 12 kw on a hot day due to temperature and air quality. At the end of the day it all comes down to personal preference. I put them on mine for looks and picked up 4rwkw on the same dyno, and in my opinion any BA BF or FG looks a lot better with the rear balanced by Quads.
  19. Ermmmmmmmmm meant Customer Service in the topic heading, must have been a Freudian slip because customer dervice is what I got.
  20. I got some DBA Gold drilled and slotteds a while back for the car and then went to the USA for 3 weeks came back and noticed a horrible rattle, took it back to the guys who fitted them, they said it was common, so I thought I'd get a second opinion and booked it into Ford to completely take them all apeart and re fit just in case a spring was loose or the sliders jammed or there was no spacers in the back $180 later told that all is OK, just the disc design and they had seen it before. To be fair I have to say I have had 3 previous sets of DBAs and never had a problem at all, and these things stop the car without a problem but the rattle is shocking . So I sent DBA an email to tell them. I did not ask for anything, no refund, no replacement just let them politely know these particular discs sound like you have 10 stones stuck in the tread of each tyre with or without the brakes being applied. That was a week ago, and the response was NO RESPONSE AT ALL. So I would say to anyone considering getting DBA Drilled and Slotteds Gold DON'T, unless you want to be driven crazy by a rattle. After wasting $500+ on these things which obviously have a design fault I would say to the customer service department at DBA you are obviously more interested in customers money than customer service
  21. Found this today, just getting worse and worse and worse. Super Typhoon Songda Projected To Pass Over Fukushima Nuclear Power Plant Submitted by Tyler Durden on 05/26/2011 16:50 -0400 Nuclear Power So far the only good news to accompany the Fukushima catastrophe has been that for all the fallout, the radiation has been mostly contained due to Northwesterly winds which have been blowing any radioactivity mostly out and into the Pacific (coupled with relatively little rainfall), as well as the dispersion of irradiated cooling water which promptly enters the Pacific after which it is never heard of or seen again (there is at least a several year period before 3 eyed tuna fish feature prominently in restaurants across the country). This may be changing soon now that Super Typhoon Songda, which according to Weather Underground will form shortly as a Category 5 storm with 156+ mph winds, will take a northeasterly direction and 2 days later will pass right above Fukushima. The good news: by the time it passes over Fukushima, Songda will be merely a Tropical storm. The bad news: by the time it passes over Fukushima, Songda will be a Tropical storm. As the latest dispersion projection from ZAMG shows, over the next two days the I-131 plume will be covering all of the mainland. Although judging by how prominent this whole topic is in the MSM lately, it seems that conventional wisdom now agrees with Ann Coulter that radioactivity is actually quite good for you.
  22. Hi Wiresquire, mate I haven't had a chance to check it out as yet. Below is the latest pack of lies foisted upon us in Aus by the Govt and the reserve bank. Australias Peek-A-Boo Debt Reappears by Kris Sayce on 29 April 2011 Australias Peek-A-Boo Debt Reappears A couple of weeks ago we quoted CommSec economist, Craig James. In an economic update he had written: Debt levels continue to slide. Private sector debt fell by 6.2 per cent in the December quarter the biggest fall in nine years… Debt is down 11.6 per cent on a year ago and has consistently fallen in annual terms over the past 18 months. The slide in debt levels in unprecedented over the past 50 years. Per capita debt stands at a 4-year low of $23,056… Debt fell by 6.2 per cent in the December quarter from $553 billion to $518.5 billion… At the time we were suspicious of the claim. It didn't seem right. If youre a regular Money Morning reader you'll know we've kept close tabs on rising Australian debt levels. Many times weve commented about rising household debt while everyone in the mainstream has claimed households have been deleveraging. that's why we were surprised when Mr. James claimed Australian debt had fallen. Anyway, heres a chart showing the historical numbers Mr. James relied on: Source: Modellers Database As you can see, hes right. The green line shows the value of total private-sector debt. The red line shows the total of private-sector debt denominated in foreign currency. And the blue line shows the value of total private-sector debt denominated in Australian dollars. And as you can also see, the debt levels have clearly fallen since they peaked in 2008. But we still werent satisfied with this. Purely because of the debt numbers wed seen from the Reserve Bank of Australia (RBA). So, we sent the Australian Bureau of Statistics (ABS) a note two weeks ago, asking them to explain the difference. Where had the debt gone? Had it disappeared? Case closed, debt is falling… Not so fast Moriarty. It turns out the debt hasnt gone… it was just hiding. Counting ALL the debt Yesterday the ABS replied and confirmed our suspicions. Here's what they said: The Modellers data only includes net debt owed to the rest of the world. It doesnt measure total foreign debt. And it doesnt measure total household debt. In other words, we have to say its a pretty pointless and misleading statistic. To put it in simple terms. Lets say you have a $200,000 debt. The loan is a $150,000 from your next door neighbour. And a $50,000 loan from your friend who lives in Santiago. In any normal world youd say youre total debt was $200,000. But in the world of the Modellers data your total debt is only $50,000. How so? Because it doesnt include the debt you owe to your neighbour. But the data is potentially even more misleading. Because if you happened to have savings of $25,000 at a bank in Ulan Bator, your total debt under the Modellers data would only be $25,000 ($50,000 you owe to foreigners, minus $25,000 owed by foreigners to you). In other words, the Modellers data would seem to create a far rosier picture than reality. Your debt in this example is actually $200,000 but according to the Modeller's data its only $25,000. Now, from a statistical analysis, maybe the Modellers data means something (we dont know what). But just try telling your next door neighbour you dont actually owe him or her anything. And also try telling your friend in Santiago you only owe him or her half of what they think theyre owed. Our guess is, you wouldnt get away with it. Thanks for the data, Modellers, but having never heard of it until Mr. James mentioned it a couple of weeks ago we now know why weve never heard of it… its useless statistical rubbish. Which reminds us of something else Mr. James wrote not so long ago: There is an old adage in economics there are lies, damned lies and statistics. At least theres something we can agree on. As we noted a couple of weeks ago, we prefer to look at the raw numbers. The real numbers Numbers that show total debt, including securitisations is nearly $2 trillion. Where owner-occupied housing debt is $819 billion. Investor housing debt is $351 billion. Other personal lending is $142 billion. And business debt is $682 billion. That's a far cry from the total private sector debt claimed by Modeller's and Mr. James of $518 billion. All the talk about deleveraging and conservative household balance sheets is nonsense. As weve pointed out all along, households havent deleveraged, theyre just broke. They arent not spending at the retailers because theyre saving. Theyre not spending because theyve got no money left to spend! Even the banks are wary about lending because theyare fearful of being left holding the delinquencies. Foreigners Aren't Playing Anymore So, what explains the falling debt numbers as claimed by the Modellers database? Simple, it means an increase in domestic borrowing. But that's not news. It's the precise reason why the banks increased savings rates last year, to attract more domestic savings so they could keep the debt bubble Ponzi scheme going. As was widely reported in the press, Aussie banks relied heavily on foreign funding. Funding that dried up to a large extent from 2009. And it also explains why the Australian government ordered the Australian Office of Financial Management (AOFM) to increase its holdings of Residential Mortgage-Backed Securities (RMBS) to $20 billion. Simply put, foreigners are either incapable of investing in Australia's debt market, or more likely, theyre too scared given the size of the housing-induced Ponzi scheme. So rather than stitching up foreigners with Ponzi debt, the banks are doing the proverbial in their own backyard. But just in case youre unsure of what we're saying, let me be clear… The Aussie economy and housing market is toast! It's up the proverbial without a paddle. There's nothing miraculous about the Aussie economy, nor the Aussie housing market. Both have been fuelled by a credit bubble.
  23. Maybe with a standard dump and cat, it maxs at 14 but the car has a 5 inch dump and cat and 4 inch single pipe to a high flow centre muffler so there is no restriction. The car ran 376 atw on the dyno after fitting so it picked up a few kw but that could have been put down to the weather as it was a cool day, but it balanced up the bum and give it a sharper bark. Luke the rear system cost $500 and $150 to fit and the front and rear badges are from ford they are a perfect fit, the steering wheel badge was from e bay and a bugger to fit as the factory badge has a couple of lugs that fold into the wheel to hold it in place, so it needs to be gently prised off with a very small screwdriver, this reveals a sort of plastic grid of rid lines moulded into the wheel so I sanded them down and peeled the sticky back off the badge with the help of some CRC to soften it up and then used super glue, it looks factory when fitted.
  24. Thanks Aaron they can't be as bad as bloody DBA drilled & Slotteds
