I'm another willing donor, let me know!
-
Well, they said they would replace it so you've gotta be happy with that. fordboy1981 have all of yours been replaced due to pixel problems? Do you know if the ICC's they put in are new or reconditioned?
-
Thanks Zeke, I'll ask the question next time I'm at the dealer and see what sort of response I get.
-
Thanks Panda, I knew there 'd be a catch Blonk, since you can talk out your I can watch my ICC whilst driving, to each their own I say
-
I've got one pixel that is locked on red on the ICC screen. I noticed it on the way home, I'm sure it wasn't there before so it must have just died. Anybody know if Ford have a "dead pixel policy" and if they will replace the screen under warranty? This has no effect on function but looks absolutely A red dot on grey or black back ground and your eye is just drawn to the thing.

I'd like the instructions but that's because I enjoy that sort of stuff and it's also the way these things are improved apon. I'm sure you'll have a lot of takers for something ready to go at the $100 mark. Maybe offering a kit of parts for a little less is also worth considering for those with some soldering skills?

Has anyone tried the Teac DV-B420 seems to have similar specs to the 400 which is now harder to find?
-
Thanks everyone! JB, I'll see how I go. So far they will give leather and premium sound at no cost which is ~$3k, if I can swing the wheels as well I've got to be doing ok even if it is a mkI right?
-
I've been given a good price on a MkI runout that's been optioned up and has 18 inch wheels fitted. Because the budget won't stretch that far I was going to ask to have them swapped with standard 17's. Is it just a matter of swapping the wheels or are there other suspension / ecu settings that need to be changed? Thanks

I have the same sort of splodge on the bonnet of mine, also blue print. Looks like someone touched it while it was still wet. Depending on how the light hits it goes from almost invisible to standing out like db's. Also have orange peel effect around the headlight scoops on the front bumper and grit in the clear coat in a couple of places. I'm just worried they'd do more harm than good trying to fix it. What concerns me more is how soft the paint seems to be, like it wasn't baked long enough or somthing? Seems every time I drive I get another stone chip. (Might be a slight exageration but it is really annoying). Anyone else having problems with the durability of the finish?

Thanks guys, I'm glad I'm not being unreasonable in what I'm asking for. twinxrs, pardon my ignorance but who is CRC? I'd be happy to report it cause it's just the last in a string of niggling little issues that I've had with this car. Somehow Ford needs to get the message that many of us have ..... had enough of this!

Put the XR6 in to have some work done today and pointed out that the battery post was leaking and had nicely corroded the termial with copper sulphate. Expecting them to supply a new battery under warranty and crimp a new terminal on to the lead as all the plating has been disolved off the original one, only to be told that FMC will not cover this as warranty because it was a maintenance issue. When I asked what maintenance I neglected to perform that caused the battery post to leak they could not give me an answer. Their solution is to clean it up and paint on some terminal protector which of course will not solve the problem. What a joke, looks like I'm in the market for a new service department. When will these guys learn that leases turn over every 4 years and you can bet I won't be using that dealership when the time comes round again! So much for building a relationship with the customer. /spleen vented, I'll go away now.

My diff is being replaced cause it's leaking, (started at 1700km) Make sure you insist they order a new one otherwise you could end up with with a service exchange unit, which I was told is normally what goes in when I questioned them. I told them I wanted a new one cause of the low miles, didn't think right to be lumbered with an exchange diff. Don't know how I'll tell the difference when it arrives though?
-
Took the car in for them to look at on Saturday, first they told me it would need to be rebooked to fit a new diff but they would check out the knock I was getting from the rear suspension. When I came back to pick it up they tell me it was just a loose breather pipe on the diff and should now be ok. Being the untrusting person that I am, I stuck my head under there this morning, looks to me like all they have done is smear some black silicone around the place. So far it has not leaked but I'm just wondering if that's an acceptable fix?

:banghead: :banghead: :banghead: Why do Ford insist on spoiling the owenership experience with such annoying little probems. It may be the best new car I've owned but it's had the most build quality issues I've ever come across on a new car. Will let you know how it goes.
