Does this problem only occur in the XRs? We've had a territory for about 4 months now and it has no trace of diff whine or is that just lucky? Dave

ok thanks guys. It is bad news... Do you know of anyone who has had success with a replacement diff? Surely all the original diffs arent faulty after a month or so of driving with them or else ford would have a major recall on its hands. Dave

oh and one more thing I forgot to mention if it matters or not is that it is an auto.

Hey guys, Just got a new mkII xr8 4 days ago and noticed that its got a really high pitched whine in between 80 - 100km/h. Its only got 400km on the clock and this whine is very frustrating seeing alot of the highway cruising is done at this speed. The car is fine with no whine below this speed however, after going to 100 and back down again it whines at the lower speeds. I think its to do with the diff not being oiled properly or the teeth not gripping? Is this a common problem and will the dealer know what to do? If so what will the dealer do to rectify it? When are the pictures of your new vehicle supposed to arrive from ford.com by email? Is it whilst the vehicle is being built that you can get realtime pics? Or is it after the car has been built and is sitting in a dealer yard that you recieve the pics? Cheers, Dave

One more thing, im thinkin of going the whole deal and getting lukey extractors aswell. Anyone know the going price of these? Also do you think that they would give me any money or discount on the new exhaust for the current lukey cat back system I have as it seems a shame to throw it out because its under a year old. Thanks for your replies guys. Currently the car has some form of lukey system on it from cat back as the standard one rusted. However I dont find this sustem to be loud enough or look that appealing from the tail. This is because I think it is only a 1.5" - 2.0" single tip exhaust with hotdog mufflers (dad got it put on as a replacement for the stock one that rusted). I really like the APS exhaust system for the xr6t as it has a nice sound and twin tips. Do you think this system would be compatible on my model car? cheers, Dave

Hey just wondering what type of exhaust you guys would recommend on a falcon 6. I was looking for something with a deep note and low resonance. Its for an EFII Fairmont Ghia. Is there a place anyone can recommend in NSW that does a stainless steel twin system (cat back) for that model car? I know this might sound pretty trivial guys, but I really want to know what colour the premium brakes are on the MkII XR's. Am I correct in saying that the MkI premiums were blue? I've seen a few MkII cars with black coloured brakes on them. Personally I think the blue ones look much better. Cheers, Dave

Hey, I remember seeing screen shots of some of the cars on this forum with a digital clock on their Premium Interior Command Centre Display. I was wondering how to get that clock to display as its annoying to search for the one on the roof (in Territoy Ghia). Hey guys just another question. What platform do you guys think I should get V8 Supercars 2 (the game) on? PC or PS2. Both have pros and cons PS2: Surround sound system and big screen. Easy start up and no chance of crashes. Dont have force feedback steering wheel for it (normal one). Dont have the PS2 online connection. PC: Superior Graphics. Dont have surround speakers for PC. Logitech Momo Force steering wheel (force feedback) makes it that much more realistic. Online playability. And are there any other differences between the 2 versions? Thanks in advance, Dave

Yeh thanks Turbo6man, it's globes that I'm after. I'll have a look at the Osram Plus 50s. Dont think I want to go replacing the whole front end as it is becoming an old car and it's not something I can see that will ad resale value (not sure how long we are keeping the car for, but the globes have to be replaced as they are ridiculously bad). Hey guys, Just wondering if any of you know a good headlight bulb replacement for an EFII Fairmont Ghia. The ones in it at the moment are pretty dodgey and are really not suitable for night driving. I am looking for lights that are H4 size, have a substantially better projection capability over the stock ford bulbs, have a blue (xenon) style tint and dont melt or discolour the polycarbonate lenses. Would like to know what brand they are, where to get them and approximately how much they cost. Thx, Dave

Dads getting new MkII XR8. But there is a slight dilema. Is it true that the carpet mats with the XR logo only come in red stitch? that's what he was told. But we are getting the luxury pack in blue stitch so it would look kinda mismatched. So just asking you guys if the XR mats come in other stitch colours? Cheers, Dave
