1. Hi Lisa....I've been naughty lately so I better watch what I say. Enjoy yourself, don't take all of us too seriously and have a good time.

Broadband

TPG 1.5Mb Unlimited $49.95 month 1500K Download (20G) / 256K Upload Haven't managed to reach 20G in a month yet (and that's even with No. 1 son downloading music all the time) No complaints with the service so far
3. Not a vitamin as such, but I take Glucosomine each day for cartillage problems. Ever since having a knee reconstruction many years back, I have had to wear support bandages around my knee when playing tennis to ensure I can walk the next day. However, after seeing a Dennis Lillee add on TV, I've now started taking the Glucosomine tablets and haven't worn a support bandage for last 6 months. Maybe it's psychological....maybe it's not.

Aami

Conversely, I have my House and Contents Insurance with AAMI. My 2nd Car (Falcon AUII Futura) is insured with NRMA. I tried insuring it with AAMI but for some stupid reason, AAMI want to charge me about $150 more than NRMA even though I have 2 other policies with them......go figure.
5. Yes well, thanks for that Unfortunately, none of the above apply to the way I drive (didn't I mention that in the original post?), and some of them don't even contribute to tyre wear (1 and 5) and others are debateable... It's ok....just taking the puss
6. 66,000k's on original Dunlop tyres....only just looking at replacing them now. I have the following suggestions : 1). Take your handbrake off while vehicle is moving. 2). Brake in advance of intersection....not when you are at it. 3). Allow other vehicles to leave a set of lights before you....it is not a personal attack that they are making. 4). Think of loose gravel as a dangerous road surface....not an adventure. 5). If driving an auto, remove left foot from brake pedal while you are using the right foot to push accelerator pedal. (This does not apply in a manual as you are probably already riding the clutch)
7. I think the E-Tag comes standard.
8. Heading down to Melbourne for the next week, so if you see a Mercury Silver Turbo, with "red coloured" NSW registration plates cruising by.....feel free to offer a friendly blast of the horn and a wave.
9. Based on information in PC User July 2005, when choosing a Plasma TV, consider the following..... Cheaper models have a low 852 x 480 pixel resolution which is unsuitable for Australian Television standards. Try to get a model with at least 1,024 x 768 or 1024 x 1024 pixel resolution. This will require less processing and provides more of the detail available in HDTV. (of course, this adds to the cost). Don't forget that Rear Projection TV's can also be expensive to maintain if the Lamps blow sometime down the track.....so they all have their good and bad points. The main thing to consider, is whichever type you go for, make sure you are happy with the picture. There are good and bad sets in each type.
10. I agree NictT....unfortunately, some think that taking both the "A" & "B" outputs of an AMP produces "bi-amp" wiring. This of course would be wrong in many cases. This is separate from "Bi-wiring" of speakers.
11. Possibly referring to "bi-wiring" of the speakers.....open to further discussion on whether or not this is useful for home-theatre applications.
12. I too would be interested in the method for "carving a hole" in the headrest for the screens
13. Me too !!! Been using the standard Unleaded ever since the price became ridiculous. No difference at all to how the car goes. Petrol usage suggests same mileage as when using the Premium.....and like Grass said, handbook advises either petrol is fine. .....and before you all claim "yes, but your engine will turn to crap and fall out of your car".....there's a hell of a lot of cars out there using the standard unleaded petrol and they don't appear to be falling to bits.

Nrl

Had a horrible feeling all week about this. Sounds like sour grapes I know (and I don't care), but there's gunna be plenty of discussion this week about the merits of finishing 1st & 2nd in the comp. Both teams beaten after the week off. On another note....a strange Grand Final coming up.....there's no team in it that I hate. Now Parra is out, I wish St George had won their match so I would have someone to hate next week. Good luck to the Tigers and the Cowboys.....should be a fast moving game
15. Hmmmmm....63,000 km's and still the original tires. Usually 500+ km's to a tank of petrol (and that's in Sydney traffic). Have you all thought of releasing your handbrake before driving off ????
16.
The Uniden UH-075 5watt sounds good. How bad is the Uniden UH-044XR 2watt?  It would still be more superior to those cheap and nasty ones surely.  lol, has the right initials though.  [post="297453"][/post]
I've used the UH-044 on previous cruises (including Snowy Mountains), works just fine.
17. Had my car serviced at 60,000k's about 3 weeks ago which included replacement of front pads and machining of discs. Friday of last week was applying the brakes and found my foot going all the way to the floor. (Scared the crap out of me). Drove the rest of the way home (slowly), and once I got home checked the brake fluid resevoir under the bonnet......GONNNNEEEE !!!!!! Rang Ford Roadside Assistance on Saturday morning and they sent out an NRMA car who advised that once brakes are involved, the only thing they are allowed to do is arrange for a tow to your local dealer. Of course not much point dong that on a Saturday. Rang again on Monday morning and requested a tow to the dealer. Truck arrived within about 40mins and I said my goodbyes and then decided "time to ring the dealer and say.....NOT HAPPY JAN !" Spoke to the dealer, Peter Warren Smithfield, and told them what had happened and advised that the car had been serviced by them less than 3 weeks prior.....including brake work. I also advised that I had to go to Tuggerah in the evening for a job and would need the car available by 2:00pm for pick-up. Dealer advised they would look at the car as soon as it arrived. - Within 45mins, Dealer rang to say that the car had arrived and was being looked at immediately. - Not long after, Dealer rang and advised that it was a blown hose at the left rear wheel and was unrelated to previous work performed. They had also spoken with Ford Melbourne who requested that the hose be sent to them for further analysis....in case this problem occured on other vehicles in the future. Obviously the repair would be covered under warranty and they had a replacement hose in stock. - At 1:00pm Dealer rang and advised all was completed and vehicle was ready to be picked up. I could not have asked for any more than what they did (unlike the dealer I used to take my car to for servicing.....closely related). Therefore, a big thanks to Peter Warren Smithfield (James Hodder)....you've got me for a while yet.
18. Just had my 60,000k service, still with original OEM 17inch Dunlops, and the Ford Dealer said no need to change them just yet Might have to find wherever that Turbo switch is hidden.
19. Disagree....DVD Shrink is not a "Click & Burn" Program. It allows you to re-author, edit "features", choose options (such as languages, subtitles, and soundtracks ), & compress to useable size. If you choose more than one "title" off the DVD, you can even be selctive on which titles to compress, or have sub-titles. Not bad for a "click & burn" program. ( In fact....the one thing it DOESN'T do......is burn ).
20. Use the "re-author" option, select only the Title Movie, get rid of other languages and sub-titles....and you should get close to 100%.
21. Was that a mobile phone I heard, or your own "ring tone" ?
22. Austa Auto Wedge Globes 12V 3Watt Part No.194c One under the glove box....and one hiding behind the fuse box.
