Commodore Sv6 Traded In After 4 Months
Honest Gaza replied to Honest Gaza's topic in General Car Talk
I can't compare it to the previous model so I don't know how it lines up next to it. (Obviously it is lacking a little when compared to the XR6T ) So far very happy though as it is mainly used between Liverpool and Frenchs Forest (M7 / M2) and the XR6T would certainly be using up a hell of a lot more fuel.....as it did for the first 4 years that I had it. The SV6 was helping me out there a little in relation to petrol....but not enough to overcome my other dislikes. -

Having difficulty getting comfortable in the seat as there are too many settings available to the driver Handles nicely, feels solid. In regards to the new shape, I probably prefer the previous model. -
Commodore Sv6 Traded In After 4 Months

If the amount of unused button locations is anything to go by (even on the "top model" Luxury Sports Hatch)....there must be some real nifty features on the overseas model of the Mazda 6. -
Took on a new Lease in November of last year (Late model camira SV6) and have gradually grown to detest it over the last 4 months. I liked (and still like), the look of the car's interior and exterior but wasn't happy with some of the "features". The two biggest highlights for me were the Bluetooth and the Roof-mounted DVD Player....and that just ain't right. I will admit that perhaps my choice of Manual gearbox was an error on my part (Sydney's M2 is the natural enemy of the Manual gearbox), and undoubtedly, this had a lot to do with my discontent. But there were several other things that annoyed the crap out of me so I made the decision to terminate the Lease early, and would rather loose a bit of $$$ now as opposed to "suffering" for another 2 1/2 years. I am now the proud owner of a 2008 Mazda 6 Luxury Sports Hatch. So I've gone from an Aussie "piece of sh*t" to a piece of "Jap crap"....and I couldn't be happier (and of course, I still have the XR6T)

Yer, I'd agree with that. I was lucky enough that my mate had a free pass so it only cost me $20 for the Stand access. I doubt I'd be happy to pay $80.
-
First time I've been....and I was very suprised how small the crowd was. No hustle and bustle. I went with a mate that regularly goes and even he commented on the smaller numbers. We paid for access to the stand and it didn't matter how many times we left and came back, there was never an issue getting a seat. I reckon there was 2/3rds of the stand full at best. HG

First attempt at capturing the big ones : (For those with an interest in photography, EXIF data is shown on the photos)
-
Where in the World did you find that ? Someone taking it for a "spin" ?
-
Not available in the new model.
-
That would be my preference too. Unfortunately, the SV6/Mazda6 is my Work Lease vehicle which comes with the associated running costs benefits.
-
Zap F6 described it pretty well. If for example, you were a Project Manager and had a permanent "Office" somewhere, then trips from Home to the Office would be classed as private. If however, you went from Home to Client's worksite, and then to the "Office"....both would be classed as business trips. (so make sure you call into the Client on the way home too).

Well hopefully, I'll be in one by the end of the month (and out of my SV6) While my wife continues to drive around in my XR6T
-
Ahhhh....I remember my first week all those years ago. It's a great car
-
Good thing I can still jump in the XR6T when the World is falling down around me.

Bringing an old thread back to life....even at the risk of raising the ire of "revheadrobbo". I've had my Late model camira SV6 for 4 months now.....and totally hate it. I'll lose some money, but plan on terminating the Lease early and replace it with the new 2008 Mazda 6 Luxury Sport Hatch.

Perhaps if you'd read the Thread Title....you could have saved yourself some precious sleep.
-
Yep, it was me who hasn't taken a test drive

Although it isn't a "show stopper", something to consider when deciding on an LCD/Plasma Screen, is to note the number of Audio Inputs. Your average garden variety person has a Digital Set Top Box, DVD Recorder/Player...and perhaps a Playstation/XBox. Most Screens have various Video Inputs (eg Component, S-Video, Video RCA)...but limited Audio Inputs. The problem is that the Component & S-Video Inputs often "share" the same Audio Input. This then stops you from connecting the STB and DVD via the "better" cabling options unless you use a Switch Box for the Audio. Of course, this doesn't effect you if everything passes through a Home Theatre Amp. In the above scenario, the STB gets connected to the DVD and then the DVD connected to the Screen. Problem with this is that you have to turn on the DVD to watch the STB. BIGGER PROBLEM....you have to explain to the Wife : Which Controls to Use Which Inputs to Select Which Day you want the Divorce to be formalised Just something to consider

Nah....I think most of the guys know we have different reasons for owning a car. Afterall, I don't make the assumption that everyone with an XR6T is a dickhead like the idiot on the video posted in another thread. My XR6T is a nice distraction too (that's why I am keeping it)...but it's still just a car (albeit, a nice one)

I'm not suggesting that everyone buy a car without test driving it. I'm saying that I sometimes buy a car without test driving it. There's enough reviews on the Net for anything (including cars), to satisfy me without having to test drive it. Given the opportunity, I try to go for a test drive....but not a necessity. My Lease on the XR6T finishes next month. I was specifically looking for a smaller car to use less petrol. Looked at the XR5T, the Mazda 3 SP23, the VwJeta Turbo, and the Honda Civic Sports....and took 3 of them for a test drive. I had actually settled on the Mazda 3 SP23....when along came a Expensive Daewoo SV6 brochure. Decided (with prompting from the wife), that was the car for me.....so much for getting a small car. As for your comment on spoilers and body kits, like Saleen mentioned, this would no doubt include the XR6.....and any number of other cars on the market. Body kits look nice to some (including me)....doesn't mean I expect the car to go super fast.
-
Why is it all you guys assume the reason for someone buying an SV6 is that they think it is quick ?. The OP didn't mention it's speed....I'm certainly not getting one because of it's speed. I'm getting one because they look nice. That's a matter of opinion....but so is most of the comments in this thread. I haven't even taken one for a test drive. Does that make me stupid ? If it does, then I was equally stupid when I ordered the XR6T 4 years ago....that I never took for a test drive They're just cars boys....something to get you from point A to point B, and something that you feel happy with driving.
-
I'm in the same boat....pick up my SV6 on 7th November. Fortunately.....I'm also keeping the XR6T so I can still feel the speed when I get the need

Yes. I never even noticed the Birth date...but you are right, he probably kacks himself every time he looks at the ID
