  1. Hi BLK6T, There is no comparison....End of story! Ok, The Turbo may be great when your cainning it around, but that's not when you enjoy it the most. When driving like a normal person, the effortless acceleration in any gear is what make these cars sooo good and addictive to drive..IMO anyway. The torque produced with the T at 2500rpm is equivalent to the LS1 at full noise >4500rpm. To cut a long story short, get you future out-laws to drive a F6 sedan and if they have something bad to say about the power and its delivery, they should stick to Holden’s. I will never own a GM again. Hope this helps. Cheers
  2. Thanks guy's... After 3 day's of driving it....I now like driving it even more I am seeing a doctor tomorrow cheers
  3. Hi Bain, I have traction control turned off...still does it. Very painfull characteristic.. Does edit remove this??? Cheers
  4. Hi All. I have just picked up my new F6 and noticed that when changing gears, quickly, the engine seems to reduce power before coming on again! Does anyone else have this issue? A possible fix?? I removed the switch connected to the clutch (Tells the pcm that you are changing gears?? and used to deactivate cruise control) and now it seems to hammer right through. To the point that I am Extremely happy with the performance!! Can this be a fix, or does the car eventually learn not to back off even with the switch connected?? I will reconnect it and see if it make a difference tomorrow!! Has this topic already been covered?? In fear of sounding like a wa*ker..I must say that I F&*^ing love driving this car!! Cheers
  5. A big burnout??? YES..I think I will
  6. Just a couple of pics of the Slug!!
  7. Yes its true...I finally got delivery. My review of it is as follows....after 60klm of running in.. NOT! 1st The Gearbox... I like the way you have to man handle the stick between gears..It makes the whole experience of driving a hottie more enjoyable. After driving a VX SS for three years, the F6 gearbox is much, much better. I like the clutch..works good, feels good. The power. With only 90k's on the clock the power is ok but could be better. First gear starts spinning when revs hit 3500rpm... very nice....BUT... The biggest problem is when changing gears, the power is cut back by the ECU for a second or so before getting up and moving again. This happens with the traction control off, regardless if I flat change or not...This is my biggest disappointment with this vehicle!! I now understand why it performs so bad in the 1/4 mile runs. If this sh*tty limiter was removed, and the full power was available during gear changes, the F6 would easily rip mid/high 13's and be way more enjoyable to drive (Thrash). Does the Stealth/CAPA ECU upgrade thingies remove this nasty characteristic? The rest of the car... Looks as good as the pictures, Drives well, Brakes VERY WELL!. After driving it for day, I would still choose Typhoon if I was to buy another car. It is a good combination of Taxi, Family Car, Race Car, Drag Car, Rally Car all in one package. My modifications to the F6 are going to be mainly on the Audio Visual equipment. I will post info as it gets done. Great Car... Cheers.
  8. Getting delivery on the 6th of April!!!! Lets see FPV have been kind enough to give me a hire car while I wait...very kind of them! Anyway, after six months it better be worth the wait!! Cheers
  9. Still waiting for typhoon to be delivered so I will report on my Turbo cortina. 11.8@110mph 60ft = 1.65s Was sitting in the rev limmiter 50meters before the end of the run. Hopfully my typhoon will arrive this year!!!
  10. I also drove one a couple of weeks ago with the clutch fix. I see no issue with the clutch feel, every car is different and you will get used to it in a couple of hours. Can anyone explain why with the traction control off, the enigine felt like it was cutting out when I changed gears quickly? I had to check that the traction control was off?? Is this some sort of drivetrain protection written into the PCM? Cheers
  11. Can the first person to see an official press release regarding the F6 please post a link. Thanks, G
  12. I over it too. Have been waiting from Dec. If I ever get it, I will make it pay.
  13. YES ..I am still waiting for this POS.... I don't think I have a chance of getting anything out of FPV..The F^%$ers don't even call me for an update. Anyway, I am over it. As I said before, when I get hold of it, I am going to make it pay!!! I drove an F6 with modified clutch the last week, gear changes felt great and clutch held up good. We see how long it last! Cheers
  14. I've been waiting 4 months for delivery...I want one toooo. And the PS2 console! Bloody FPV retards!!
  15. From my expirience, a stock GTR is not as quick a you might expect. The turbo lag that GTR's have is the worst you will ever feel on any turbo car...But as stated previously, simple mods, as we did with a friends car, and 11.9 1/4mile was the result. This low et is mainly attributed to the excellent takeoff possible by revving the sh*t out of it and dumping the clutch. In stock form, only a good driver in a GTR will beat an average driver in an auto xr6T. My 2 cents!!
  16. One thing I know for sure, if I picked another car...It won't be a Holden! My previous car was an SS...You don't want to know how many things went wrong!! I'm a turbo 6 man anyway... since my turbo250 XE back in 92... Ah.....SHiet .. I want to cancel....but...but. I WANT THE F*&^IN TYPHOON BAD!!!! If I do get it, I will thrash the living shiet out of it to make it suffer the way I am now. Just wait you poor piece of metal..Your gonna wish you were never built!!
  17. getting it stollen could be a blessing after two years of thrashing it!!! Did I say that?
  18. After waiting 3 months....I think I'm going to give up!! From being excited to get a F6..I am now totally over it! The feedback from Ford/FPV is what Sh&T's me the most...None! I asked the question to the Ford Knob at the Motor show who basically told me that 2 months plus before production starts again. Waiting 6 months for a Ford is crazy..... FPV RETARDS!!! Now ...what car do I get??
  19. Lets get the story straight!!! Who said the Holden/HSV do not have clutch problems???? I owned a Gen3 with 6speed and had clutch problem one after the other. 1. Pressure plate collapsed at 8000Klm 2. Slave cylinder burst at 20000Klm 3. Clutch failed again at 40000klm Oh...and the engine replaced...was I pissed off? No..it was under warranty!! Another mates monaro copped the same. Don't talk about Holdens and thier problems if you haven't owned one....All australian made cars are the same Shkit! Just accept it - this way you will have a better day. Bye
  20. My turbo Corty....Another month to live with this. burnout.wmv
  21. On a happy note... I am getting my F6 on 24th Feb...I cannot wait... The car goes ok and looks bloody good regardless of all the sh*it bagging it's getting. And as far as sales are concerned, they don't seem to be suffering too much. One happy soon to be owner of an F6
  22. You are correct..production stopped!!! It was Christmas / new years holidays...
  23. hi gents, Please don't be fooled...a twin turbo set up has only got marginal lag improvement over a single. If you don't believe me, just take a Nissan GTR for a drive. You will be disgusted at the "LAG" that these vehicles have, and how annoying they are to drive, especially in traffic. The XR6T is dream compared to other turbo vehicles. Single turbo will do...Twin turbo "sounds good" for marketing. My opinion only. Cheers.
  24. Hi, The official delivery date is now the 24th Feb..... on a side note.. I love reading about how a modified XR6T is faster than a F6. Is anyone surprised? When I compare two vehicles, I compare them in standard form...not what can be done if I modify it. To give you an example, I have a 74 Cortina that I picked up for $400.00 and modified with a EFI / Intercooler 250 that would probably beat 90% of the XR6T's on this forum....Is it a better car?..sh*t no! the only thing it 's good for is going in a straight line. I must agree that we are paying too much for the F6, but at the end of the day, it is has its immediate and long term benefits. I know the F6 will hold its value better than a T in the long run, and the extra money I pay now will be equivalent to the money I would lose when selling my used T. But, If the F6 did not exist, I would buy a T for sure. Cheers G
  25. how cool is this... I must wait 2 Months for bloody delivery! Back to the Cortina we go.
