  1. Hey Guys, picked up a new 50th anniversary XR6T on Friday to compliment the BA that I bought back in 2003 and have been enjoying ever since. I've clocekd up 500km in the FG but the brakes still feel very wooden with lot's of pedal pressure but not enough bite IMO. Just wondering what have been other peoples experience wrt the number of km it takes to bed in the brakes on these babies? I guess this number will be very subjective given differences in driving conditions and driving styles. I live on the south coast of NSW so have been doing mainly country km and haven't been punishing the brakes much - although there was one quite hard stop required to avoid another car but this was after I had clocked up 500km. Thanks for any feedback.
  2. Thanks for the warm welcome!
  3. The day finally arrived and I picked up my blueprint manual T yesterday. I must say I was pleasantly surprised on a number of fronts: 1. No defects that I could find after a fairly careful inspection 2. The manual box is a pleasure to use. I was expecting a real clunker after reading some of the posts on the site. It does hesitate to go into first on occasion but I expect that will improve as it gets a few miles on it. 3. Oh and THAT engine! seems to have at least as much go as the moderately modified clevo in my other falc except right at the bottom of the rev range. Haven't explored the top end really but expect the T to have the legs over the clevo. I love the power delivery - all smoothness and refinement compared to the carbed, pushrod V8 that I'm used to. 4. all the extras were there - I was half expecting something to have been missed. 5. ride quality and handling are outstanding. I must thank you all for your insight into this car as I've been following the various threads on the site for a few months and feel that I was able to make an informed decision in the end. I like the balanced views that are expressed here. I hope I see some of you on the road in the Sydney area. Cheers, Dave.
  4. As Benny says, its the plugs. Seems to foul the plugs on some bikes but not others. Late model Suzuki GSX-R's seem to be affected but my bike (Kawasaki ZX-9R) runs fine on it. BTW 999's are most definitely water cooled. Cheers.
  5. Thanks AMoffat, I've resigned myself to a long wait for the T. I'll have to get out on the bike a few times to compensate - Oxley Hwy this weekend with a doz or so like-minded individuals. Cheers.
  6. Firstly, hi to all. I've been reading the posts on this great site for a couple of months but this is my first post. I recently placed my order for a blueprint manual sedan through the fleet manager at work. His feedback from the Ford Dealer - Thomson Ford in Sydney - was that delivery should be before the end of December but if it wasn't then it would be sometine in Feb'04 because the factory closes for all of Jan! Is that right? Has anyone heard of the factory closing down for the whole month of Jan? Also, has anyone had any dealings with Thomson Ford in Parramatta that they care to share? Thanks heaps!
