  1. torque is the all important ingredient torque is the turning effot exerted by mechanical components. power is the time rate of doing work. power = (NT)/9.55 (N= RPM, T= torque, 9.55 is the conversion from radians per second) Does this help ?????

Canberra Oct 03 build Phantom (is there any other colour worth having?) no mods yet. mods on the way, moving battery into tray, build air filter box to sit where battery was and replumb intake tract in 3" stainless, bigger intercooler. Will also make new 3" stainless exhaust when time allows.
  7. Sheila, the Aussie housewife got out of the shower and slipped over on the bathroom floor. Instead of slipping over forwards or backwards, she slipped, did the splits and suctioned herself to the floor. She yelled out for her husband Bruce. "Bruce, Bruce ! ! " she yelled. Bruce came running in. "Bruce, I've bloody suctioned meself to the floor ! " she said. "Strewth ! " Bruce said and tried to pull her up. "You're stuck fast girl. I'll go across the road and get Cobba" (his mate). They came back and they both tried to pull her up. ''No way! We can't do it, let's try Plan B." Cobba said "Plan B?" exclaimed Bruce. "What's that"? "I'll go home and get my hammer and chisel and we can break the tiles under her and release the vacuum." replied Cobba "Spot on" Bruce said. "While you're doing that, I'll stay here and play with her *beep*." "Play with her *beep*"? Cobba said, "Not exactly a good time for that mate?" "No" Bruce replied, "But I reckon if I can get her wet enough, we can slide her into the kitchen where the tiles aren't so expensive"

    Premium Fuel

have tried most of the 98RON fuels on the market and for me the mobil synergy 8000 is head and shoulders above the rest. Case in point- I swing spanners on a mates 460ci XT ute, on the mobil it will run sweet through 7000rpm, optimax requires a dose of the Wynns race formula octane boost. My T ute feels crisper on the mobil but the optimax still works just fine for haulinf my tools from job to job. Economy??? If I was worried about economy I would driving some crappy little 4cyl ricer.
  9. Was great to see mainstream media reporting on drag racing in a positive and upbeat manner. Hope the local pollies saw it and pull their collective fingers out and get a drag strip happening here in Canberra.
  10. keep an eye on the DJR boys, if they can get a handle on their suspension they will be hard to beat. Don't think we'll see too much of Skaife this year, he'll be too busy running to the stewards office complaining that the rest of the field won't pull over and let him past.

  13. whilst there were quite a few rice burners inside it sounds like there were more on the outside. It was a disapointment to see the d*ckhead factor is on the rise again, this year it started on Friday afternoon. having ventured to the nats this year in a different type of car (a non jap 4 cyl) was pleasantly suprised with the general acceptance and in some cases the historical understanding of the car. This was my 11 th nats (my 1st not in a v8) I wonder how much longer for Chic Henry & crew to get serious about stamping out the morons (maybe ban the booze).
  14. Be prepeared to travel to find a good car as they are starting to get scarce, spent 5 years finding a good xm van that didn't have heaps of rust. If you go the x flow/turbo you will have bonnet clearance problems as the 250 block is much taller than the std 200. The XR6t sounds good but was quoted over $15000 for eng/box assy from local dealer. they are great cars(have had several) and best of luck.
  15. Phantom XR6T, (pick up on wednesday, fingers crossed). will start playing once new toolboxes are fitted. begining with center muffler and air box
  16. Think I saw a post a few weeks ago about a std ute running 13.95

    BRAKE SHUDDER ISSUE

With my XR6T ute sill a few weeks away the brake shudder problem is a concern. Some guys seem to the right idea by replacing pads and rotors but only do it after the problem starts. the fix is really simple, use a really good quality pad (pagid, EBC, endless). Not sure if all make a BA pad as yet but all make fantastic pads. Stay away from any mettalic pads. The job of the pads is to not only slow the rotor(stop the car) but to help disapate the heat generated. I have found this out the expensive way, having had to skim rotors after every speed event in my current ride. Fitted a set of pagid road pads(they made great race pads also) and did 3 meetings and 15000km road with no probs. No warm up needed, no fade. No mean feat in a car that weighs over 1650 kg. Also cut a set of EBC to suit and worked just as well(did give a slightly harder pedal)
