  3. T5 in my BA XR6T Ute. I've got just over 100,000km
  4. On my way home today, the gearbox decides to jam in gear, felt like the box had picked up both 5th and reverse, wouldn't move under power so had to roll to the side of the road. So I sit there wondering what to do next, turn it off and wait for help to arrive. Whilst waiting the gear stick is able to move like the box was out of gear. I start the ute for one more try and can get 3rd so limp home. Throw the ute up on stands when I get home to see what damage has been done (not making any abnormal noise) and find nothing. Decide to drop the oil and check for lumpy bits but don't have the correct torq bit. whilst checking the box out, notice a bolt above the reverse switch that is about 3-4 turns out, not sure but maybe something to do with locating the selector rail or something similar?? Tighten it up and box is working fine again! Has anyone else encountered this or is there more to it that I've missed? Should I still be worried

    Brake Pads

Taking that long is unusual. The couple of customers who had problems had them within the first 1000km. Heard of a few other probs but that was before they change to the V3 greenstuff compound. (around 2001 I think)
  8. Cant make the full cruise but may be able to catch to say hi when you stop for lunch

    Brake Pads

The only problems I have heard of with the greenstuff can usually be traced back to incorrect bed-in.
  10. You may be suprised just how big BSM is. Don't let the tarted up garden shed fool you
  11. The equation to get an accurate figure would involve some serious calculus, and a lot of spare time. Much easier to get your hands on a program called 1/4 Jnr. Just plug in weight of car, gear ratios, final drive, frontal area and a couple of other details and presto. You get 1/4 mile times and MPH also gives you 60", 330", 660", 1000" times and speed.

  13. that's where I want to head next.. But wont be for a month or 2 probably.. Ive been told Calder has better traction.. If I can get a better launch I think I could hit 103 - 104 mph.. that should be just into the 13's yeah? <{POST_SNAPBACK}> With cold calder air those times are sure to drop. 2.1 60ft times that's fantastic for a stock T, I havent managed better than 2.38 You obviously have a bit of drag racing experiance

    Unopened Class

<{POST_SNAPBACK}> I agree too, this would have to be the easiest to follow and covers all stages within reason.... jeff <{POST_SNAPBACK}> It doesn't address the tyre issue ... also, is it only open to XR6Ts? Fair enough if it is I suppose .. this IS the XR6T forum after all. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> sounds like a good spread of classes. Tyres probably won't be a major factor. Most serious racers will use nittos/BFG drag radials which are all but as good as slicks.
  16. 42c? ..........been 36c/litre down here for a long time. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> STOP TEASING ME!!!!!!! Gas down here is 61.9 and ulp is 115.9

  18. Just because the rods don't look bigger/fatter, does not mean there not stronger. they may be made of different material.
  19. Are there any plans for another turbo forum vs LS1 forum similar to mid last year. I cannot make Wednesday nights, (5 and a bit hours travel) but I am keen for a few more passes.
  20. 1- remember to have fun !!!!!!!! For your first outing leave tyres at normal pressures. I launch at around 3500rpm and feed the clutch, otherwise you will just go up in smoke. when you go into stage, do it slowly, as soon as the second stage light lights up, stop. Ignore the car in the other lane. Bring the revs up as soon as both lanes have gone into stage. Leave on the last amber. Changing at 5500 sounds about right. Hang on tight for the next 14 seconds. keep into it for 2-3 car lengths after the finish. Wipe the smile off your face before you get home, if SWMBO thinks you had fun she may not let you go again

  22. Have had the same missing problem a few times now, Had it check at John McGrath ford in Philip and they found an overboost code (in late feb, warm day) told me I should rewiew my driving style????(useless w@nkers) Has happened a few times since, some when cold starting and some on the open road.
  23. This was in the Washington Post... the title of the article was "Best Comeback Line Ever." In summary, the police arrested Patrick Lawrence, a 22-year-old white male, resident of Dacula, GA, in a pumpkin patch at 11:38 p.m. on Friday. Lawrence will be charged with lewd and lascivious behavior, public indecency, and public intoxication at the Gwinnett County courthouse on Monday. The suspect explained that as he was passing a pumpkin patch he decided to stop. "You know, a pumpkin is soft and squishy inside, and there was no one around here for miles. At least I thought there wasn't," he stated in a phone interview. Lawrence went on to say that he pulled over to the side of the road, picked out a pumpkin that he felt was appropriate to his purposes, cut a hole in it, and proceeded to satisfy his need. "I guess I was just really into it, you know?" he commented with evident embarrassment In the process, Lawrence apparently failed to notice a Gwinnett County police car approaching and was unaware of his audience until officer Brenda Taylor approached him. "It was an unusual situation, that's for sure,"said officer Taylor. "I walked up to (Lawrence) and he's...just working away at this pumpkin." Taylor went on to describe what happened when she approached Lawrence. "I just went up and said, 'Excuse me sir, but do you realize that you are screwing a pumpkin?' "He froze and was clearly very surprised that I was there, and then looked me straight in the face and said," "A pumpkin? Damn...is it midnight already?'"
  24. I was tired of being bossed around by my wife; so I went to a psychiatrist. The psychiatrist said I needed to build my self-esteem, and so he gave me a book on assertiveness, which I read on the way home. I finished the book by the time I reached my house. I stormed into the house and walked up to my wife. Pointing a finger in her face, and said, "From now on, I want you to know that *I* am the man of this house, and my word is law! I want you to prepare me a gourmet meal tonight, and when I'm finished eating my meal, I expect a sumptuous dessert afterwards. Then, after dinner, you're going to draw me my bath so I can relax. And, when I'm finished with my bath, guess who's going to dress me and comb my hair?" "The f***ing funeral director," she said
