Agree with the above. I have sold all my cars privately and never had a bad experience apart from the usual time wasting and low blowing, which I guess you will get regardless. I just recently sold my immaculate 2011 FG XR6T. Advertised it on Scumtree 2 months ago to get an idea of the market and got nothing but time wasters so I pulled the add a week later. Two weeks ago I listed it on carsales and car was sold within 5 days of me listing it. My advice is avoid listing it on Gumtree if you don't want dreamers and time wasters messaging and emailing you at all stupid hours of the day.

Looks better in the last lot of pictures, but still would not bang. The Fusion/Mondeo is still a much nicer looking car, its a much better and cohesive overall design.

Yes true the Korean offerings have more power on paper, but drive them back to back and there is not that much difference if any. Plus they also all drive and feel like sh!t to be honest. But this is all useless to the OP as non of them offer as diesel sedan or wagon that compared to the Mondeo.

There are a few of versions of 2L TDCi in the Mondeo depending on what model you look at: - MA Mondeo had a 96kw/320Nm diesel with a torque converter auto. - MB Mondeo had a 103kw/320Nm diesel with a torque converter auto. - MB MY11 Mondeo to current MC have a 120kw/340Nm diesel with the Powershift wet dual-clutch 6 speed. We have a new Kuga with the same 120kw/340Nm diesel and the Powershift wet dual-clutch 6 speed. Great little engine and the gearbox is is awesome. The Powershift is not as smooth as a converter auto in slow speed up/down hill driving such as carparks but once on the move its supper smooth. Also the wet clutch powershift in the diesel is a lot better than the dry clutch version int he petrol models. The engine has minimal turbo lag and goes very good, much better then what the power figures would suggest. Also averages 6.6-6.8L per 100km. Kuga is heavier than the Mondeo so it should be event better in the Mondeo. Another option is the EcoBoost 2L in the MC Mondeo. Drove one as loan car a year ago and was bloody impressed with how well it drove.

Ralph, but it would have only cost you $700 if you got a similar product locally

Emergency Assist has been available in other cars in the Ford lineup for years. Good to see the Falcon finally get some of the later technology.

Congratulation mate! My old man only has a few weeks left before he becomes a granddad to

Cluster looks average, don't like the spiky gauge surrounds. Would have been nice if the put the F6 cluster int he final XR6T. Sounds and goes just like an FG XR6T. The average consumption looks impressive if that is a long term average though. My FG averaged 10.8L/100km with a lot of fwy driving and the occasional flogging.

I think the roof aerial is one of the better changes on the FGX haha I doubt the FGX will get DAB+, but it would be good if it does. We have it in the wife's car and it is bloody night and day compared to analogue FM.

Yea I was going to get white as well initially, but my FG I just sold was white with black wheels so did not want the exact same combo.
-
Yea I heard that the SRT broke down 18 times during the filming of the above video clip.....

Its just a red 6 in the XR6 badge. The badges and the location onlf them look all wrong. Who ever designed the new rear boot lid must have forgotten about badges.

Pics of GF.

Are you sure about that? They start production in a few weeks. Its been said all along that the interior will be the same. The only obvious visual differences are seat trim covers, dash spears and dash cluster. The ICC has a new button for parking sensors and some other minor changes in button arrangement. There is also a Sync button on the steering wheel.

Yes SRT would have been nice Steve, but a bit too rich for me haha. That looks like the old generation model from that picture. The 2014 models go from 0-100 in under 5 seconds in stock form.

Not sure if any of you have been watching the AFF thread. I just had a look and bucket-load of pictures of the new Falcon in the wild... Here are some of the pictures posted on AFF of the new XR.... And here is the all "new" interior....

the engine is a VM Motori 3.0L V6 Turbo Diesel with 184kw and 570Nm. Combined fuel usage is 7.5L/100km and does 0-100km/h in under 7.5 seconds. It has a 8 speed German built ZF. The Diesel and V8s come with a German built box and the V6 petrol has a US built 8 speed under ZF license. Similar to what Ford do with the 6 speed ZF. They drive really good for a big heavy car. The engine is quiet and has a tone to torque, the auto is smooth as silk. Much like the 6 speed ZFs in the XRs. The ride is firm on the 20" wheels and there is minimal body roll for a 2200kg car. It does not drive or feel like a small car by any stretch of the imagination, but its just so comfortable and very quiet. I ended up driving a few of them as I test drove both petrol and diesel and way very impressed. The list of features in these is huge and compared to anything else in the class or similar $$$. I got the limited edition Blackhawk model that is based on the base model Laredo and has a number of added features to make it stand out a bit more. I was going to hold out for the updated Territory Titanium diesel, but after seeing the picture Ford released I was pretty disappointed.

Bought one of these suckers last week, but wont get it till first week of next month... Goes good for a tank, has a mountain of torque at low revs. Makes a diesel Territory feel like a slug.

Intake Muffler Delete Lost Power
XtRmn8 replied to FORCEDG6E's topic in Fuel System & Induction Workshop
I initially tried the 4" and instantly noticed it was laggier and imo actually sounded worse. I put the stock pipe back on and noticed an immediate improvement in response. Months later I was offered/given a 3.5" pipe to try so I gave it a crack thinking maybe the 4" was too big for the small turbo, but it was the same. Stock pipe went back on and the 3.5" went in the bin. Like I said before maybe they are ok on a tuned car but imo they are a waste of money on a stock car especially with the smaller turbo. -

These $200 muffle delete pipes are about as good as the $500-600 intakes you can buy. Not bagging any of them as I had spent the money on buying these products so just speaking from experiance. Yes your car sounds better as you get some extra induction noise but appart from that no performance gain. On a tuned car they may offer some gain over a stock setup. But there is not way a muffle delete would result in a power loss as suggested. -

All muffle delete pipes are a waste of time on a stock car imo. I tried both 4" and 3.5" on my old FG and it was noticably laggier. -
There is no difference between FG XR6T and FG F6 oem air-box and snorkel.

Intake Muffler Delete Lost Power

Interesting. I never heard of anyone loosing top end power with one fitted. I fitted one to my non tuned tuned FG with a Herrod intake and if anything it made it feel more laggy with a bit more intake noise. Ended up taking the muffle delete pipe off a day later. -
By rear end I was referring to diff and suspension.
