  1. That was the only decent thing they had on there! Looking through the specs of the Falcon there are so many mistakes in there. Pretty poor effort. They should at least list all the options and the RRP like the configurator used to. Oh well.
  2. Just noticed that on the ford.com.au a site the option to configure your car has gone? Am I just looking in the wrong place of have they removed it? I recal being able to pic a car and chose what options you wanted and see how much they cost etc. Cheers.
  3. You should be able to offset FBT by using he Employee Contribution Method. Make part of the lease payments with post tax dollars.
  4. According to what we were handed it is "Prestige Novated Lease", not sure what or if there is any difference. I got some more prices last week. For example a base BF XT would cost about 24k, an XR6 4 speed auto is about 27k and the 6 speed is about 29k. I am getting a salary impact statement done to see how broke I would be if I go ahead with this haha. Basically all running cost would be included in the lease, which would cover insurance, service, tyres, rego, fuel etc. Fuel is just a figure they put in the lease and if I go over I have to pay more or if I go under I get money back. But there is a quarterly report where they look at details and adjust lease so that you do not get a huge bill at end of year, plus its all done by out HR dept. See what happens when they get back to me with figures. Just a question for those of you who lease cars. Is there anything in the contracts to say that you can not modify the car in any way? In terms of engine I ma just get a flash tuner box down the track. But I would like to get my own tint done and lower the car after delivery. Seeing that I would own he car and it would be in my name I do not see how this could be a problem.
  5. Yea went to the seminar this morning and it was presented by the easifleet GM. At the moment it all sounds a bit too good to be true so I will have to nutt-out some of the finer details and get some more figures etc. Basically my employer has been given (or placed in the same bracket) of buying power as local/state/federal govenment combined. This means that we can get cars at prices what the gov pays for them. For example a VE Omega is about $39k drive away for the averaga Joe and we can get the same car for $26k. Reason is because Ford/Holden/Toyota etc are not interested in profit as gov makes up about 45% of total anual new car sales, hence the manufacturer wants market share and will sell cars to this buying group at pretty much cost price. Plus there is no dealer deliver, GST or stamp duty (which in WA is pretty high). All other Novated lease things apply such as FBT and the kms brackets etc. But where it gets interesting is by the means of a new scheme called ECM (Employee Contribution Mechanism?), where you can contribute part of the lease payment post tax and ofset the FBT and hence pay no FBT. For example if I do 25k km per year and I have to pay 11% FBT on the lease packedge on say 10k pa. I can offset that $1100 FBT by paying that with post tax dollars and the other ~$8900 pre tax. I am waiting to get a quote on a XR6T sedan and ute to see how much I can get one through easifleet adn the saving compared to RRP and drive away price.
  6. Yes ofcourse 2 years, my bad. Mark look at what I found last night while fishing around. Its a bit early for me but you might be interested. Have not called the guy but it could be a misprint, worth a shot anyway. CLICK HERE
  7. Mark that sounds really good. So I take it you did it over 3 years? Going by your above figures the lease cost you about $200/week over 3 years, sound about right? By all running costs, do you mean service, fuel and insurance? Or was it service and insurance only? Cheers
  8. I will have no problems doing the kms but your above point about choosing something that doesn't depreciate too quickly would pretty much rule our Ford or FPV. Not sure if this will be an option for pre-owned cars but iw would be nice as some of the low kms and under 12 months old cars are going for cheap, especuially Ford and FPV due to the resale. Will wait and see what they say at the seminar.
  9. Hi folks, I am going to a seminar on Wednesday to see what this is all about and look at Salary Packaging of Cars. Below is a list of points about this "new" offer, which I know nothing about. The Prestige Novated Leases Offers: * Choice of vehicle to suit your needs for exclusive use * Use pre-tax dollars to lease and operate a car * Save thousands on the purchase price * Single monthly payments smoothes out vehicle expenses * Fleet rates on running costs Does anyone know how much discount there is through this lease option on XR's and FPV's? Cheers, Goran
  10. Mate this happened to my car (climate control). One side used to blow hot and the other cold. It was done under warranty and my car had to stay overnight on a couple of occasions to get this sorted coz it took em a few goes (not to mention the other bits they broke in the process of taking the dash apart). I have seen a tech document someone put together but can not recall where, it outlines the process to check and repair. This the other forums and link in the BA section.
  11. I think you guys need to give the bloke a break Ok it may not be appealing to everyone and I for one am not too fond of that front, but at least it is different. One positive is that it still looks good from the back and considering how fast it is (?) most people would spend more time looking at the rear of the car anyway. Its individual is all I can say.
  12. There is an auto BF XR6T listed on carsales for 35k, but it is here in WA.
  13. I found the mag, it was in volume 4 edition 1. Anyway I was wrong about the engine, they state that the engine is stock. At the time it had a Herrod cat back exhaust. It has a pretty big stereo install and that seems to be the focal point appart from the trick looking red interior. I agree, it is about 10k overpriced for what it is.
  14. LINK Not much info there, but if anyone is interested I can scan the article tonight and post it. Might even be on the Herrod site?
  15. I was browsing the web last night and came accross the 02 XR6T Herrod showcar for sale here in WA and pretty pricey too. I recal this car from one of my Performance Ford mags, they had a big writeup on it back in 03 I think. The car is Red, has custom red interior, dual boot spoiler, Herrod wheels and suspension, massive doof doof install with tv screens etc, sunroof, massive breaks and from memory at the time it had an APS phase 2 kit. Anyone know the car? Would be a good but as it is pretty shmick but the yard has it advertised at 40k.
  16. Nah mate I am in Success. I always thought you lived in Coggee.
  17. Looks great mate, good to hear you are happy with the wheels! Is see you have moved further south?
  18. You say you loaded TomTom v6 on you PDA. I assume this is just an application that runs on Windows Mobile? I would not be able to load this on say a Mio GPS unit? Yea I am looking forward to the trip, but not sure about going nuts as I will have a whole 1600cc of Turbo Diesel power to play with haha. Getting a Citroen C4 diesel for the trip. ZAP_F6: I can see you point about theft, but I guess it comes down to us an making sure not leave the car with valuable all over the place. It will cost me $800 to get a car with GPS and get maps for all of Europe, thought for that money might as well but one to keep. I also like the idea that they double up as a little media unit and can play video, vie pictures and play music etc.
  19. Never really looked into the portable GPS units out there such as Tomtom, etc. I got a few questions for those of you who use them and know the ins and outs. We are going to Europe in a few months and I am leasing a car over there for 40 days and will do around 8000km of driving all up. I was going to lease a car with GPS but by the time you pay extra fr the GPS system and then the maps etc it is not cheap. So I may as well bu a portale GPS unit here and take it with me. I been doing some fishing around on the net and there are a lot of maps you can get for Europe etc. Are these maps specific to the brand of GPS unit? or can they be loaded onto any brand unit? For example are these units any good? Click here Would I be able to get maps for them? will the accept Tomtom maps?? Cheers
  20. Just went to get some lunch and its nice and sunny outside Hope we get some sunshine over the weekend too.
  21. Love your work Adrian. Told you the wheels will make it look like a new car Did you go the wide pack or 8.5 inch all round?
  22. Yes his name is Sunny.
  23. How long should I expect him to cry for? He is finding it tough being seperated from the other litter I think and has become very attached to my fiancee and myself. He cried a lot last night. Also because he is in the house now while little he does not like being left alone outside. Any tips on how to get him used to being outdoors for short periods of time on his own? Cheers.
  24. Well after four weeks of looking at about 10 different pups today we got one! Had a look at a few and they were all Staffy x something (Bully, Ridgeback, Mastiff, etc). Could not find one that both the fiance and I liked until we saw this one today. He is a Staffy x Staffy/Labrador 7 week old male. His favorite hobby so far is biting anything he can get to. He is a little ball of energy so far. Took him a couple of hours to settle and since he is been very playful with 20min power naps.
