There are many options when it comes to a media player to do exactly what you want. However I would do a bit of research as some of the cheap ones are not that great, just search for users reviews on the net. I have a mediagate media player that is hooked up to my Plasma. It has pretty good playback support in terms of formats etc. I have it hooked up via component cables and it supports 480p, 720p and 1080i content. My mediagate has inbuilt wireless and ethernet, so I can plug it into my internet modem/router via a network cable or connect it via wifi. Have done both and both work well for streaming both SD and HD content from my PC. This will allow you to keep all your movies, shows and music on your computer and you can access them using your media gate and play them on your TV etc. You can also put a hdd into and store content on there if you want. Depending on the model, they go for about $180-$300 without a hdd. Use staticice.com.au to find a good price in your area.

Like other have said, the fact its done 200k could not be so bad. Has the car been maintaned? How many previous owners has the car had? What year is the car? Is it man or auto? Does the car have any factory options? If you are going to by a clapped out 02/03 XR6T with no options (premium break, leather, premium sounds, etc) for 11k and spend another 6k+ fixing it, you may be better off getting one that has been looked after and is a low kms car for a bit more. On the other hand the car you are looking at may be ok and server you well. But to be on the safe side you would be replacing a lot of wear and tear items on the car and all the fluids to be sure. That alone will be 1k+ for mates rates.

There are a number of ways you can watch your avi video files on your TV. By far the easiest would be to so as Jake XR6T suggested. Your laptop with have a VGA out for an external monitor/projector etc. Get a VGA-to-Component cable for picture. Second your laptop will have a 3.5mm audio jack, get a 3.5mm to RCA converter. Once you hock it all up make sure you enable video output to external monitor, in you case your Plasma. Depending on brand of laptop, but it could be as easy as hitting Function+F4, F5 or F6 to cycle trough the output preference. Quality will depend on you avi, 90% of avi files are only Standard Definition at best and will not look too flash on HD plasma. IMO is it not worth waisting DVD's and going to the effort of converting them to burn to DVD.

I still think the rear track should be a lot wider. Ford have made the tray wider and pumped out the guards but left the rear track too narrow.

Saw a base model FG ute on the road this morning and it was the ugliest thing on 4 wheels that I have seen in a long time ..........yet to see an XR ute on the road.

Is it a modified VY with 260rwkw or a stock car with 260kw from factory? If it is stock, they ran very low 14's. If it is 260rwkw, it should be good for a high 12.

The Mondeo XR5 has a proximity key with push button start. All other models have a flick key, which is the same as the new FG keys. Very nice cars indeed

Standard are 17's. The 18's are nice but I strongly recommend you got and have a look at one with both the 17's and 18's. I would leave the 17's on there and replace them by after market rims that are at least 9.5 inch wide in the rear. The tray guards have been pumped out that much on the FG ute, the wheels sit about 80mm inside the guard lip. It looks very strange. Went had another look today (still no XR6T or XR8 utes in stock), but they had heaps of XR6 utes with 17's and 18's and the back looks awkward compared to the sedan.
