  1. Mine is stock at the moment and the average is saying 13.2L/100km and I got about 560km from the last tank. Current tank is not going so well
  2. that's what I don't understand either. They go to the trouble of coping the wheels, why not make a 9" or 9.5" version for the rear.

    Rear Rotor Removal

They should come off pretty easy. I have taken mine off about 4 times in the last month, put new rotors and pads in the back and the passenger side break sequels when it gets hot and stop as soon as brake is applied. Driving me pharking nuts
  4. Thanks for the feedback people. I want bass but I do not want it to shake my car to bits. I am more after sound quality rather then volume and pressure if that makes sense. While I am at it I plan to dynamat the about 3/4 of the cabin to get rid of the hollow sound and also block out road noise. I am doing all this myself so will experiment and see how it goes. If I could pick up a couple of factory premium sound 8" subs I would build the boxes and put them in and see how they sound. If I am happy with the fit and sounds I'd replace them with better 8" like the JBL one that everyone with premium sounds in a sedan is upgrading to. mickgibbo, I already got ute premium sound so got the a pillars with tweeters. I have not decided on the splits yet, I'll have to listen to a few to see what I like. I also want to put my amp under the seat, the amp I got will fit just. Planning on running everything of my single 4ch amp. Bridging the rear channels gives me 170wrms at 2ohm so should be enough to drive to little 8" subs.
  5. Hi, Been thinking about what to do and how it could be done. Fronts are easy sorted with a set of splits but then what to do about the bass? I like bass but then again do not want to drive around and feel like someone is kicking me in the back constantly. I have not seen this done but I think it is very possible and has a few benefits for me. I like the space behind the ute seats as I often use it to put things behind there and out of the way so not having this space would be unpractical to some extent. So I thought rather then run a single 12" or 10" behind one of the seats, why not run an 8" either side in the same location as the factory rear speakers. Another issue I have is that my seat is always moved back all the way, so the space behind the seats is not that great anyway, would struggle to build an enclosure with a volume of 1cf. There is heaps of room where the factory 5x7's live, even for an enclosure to be built. Looking at something like the JBL GTO804 8", they should work very well in a small sealed enclosure? Any feedback from audio buffs is appreciated. Cheers.
  6. Thanks for that. I'll have to take map reading light out to see what globes they are.
  7. Hi, I want to replace the standard globes for the interior illumination dome light and the ma reading lights with some nice bright white LED replacement globes. Can anyone tell me if they know what globes are used for the map reading lights? My guess is that its a t10 wedge globe? Also can anyone recommend a good place or ebay seller for LED globes. Cheers.
  8. Spoke to couple of wheel shop yesterday and they said a camber caster kit in needed for front if SL springs are used. They can not shim it enough without a camber kit. What camber kits are you all using?
  9. Oh that is cheap, I thought it would be way more to get them powder coated. Who did them for you?

    What To Do..

A simple tune with injectors, K&N, 2nd intake and F6 intercooler will make your car wipe the floor with a stock F6. Get some 19" agent F6 rims, lower your car a bit and get a set of 4 pot Brambo's for the front. I agree an F6 is always going to be an F6 and I can understand why you would want one. But not for the changeover you are looking at. Good luck with your choice
  11. jasol, they came out looking great. I painted some polished aluminum pipes before so I'll give these a try. The satin looks great. I was looking at getting some black replacement joiners as they they are not too expensive.
  12. That looks great mate. I will be doing the same with mine Did you do the pipes in a semi-gloss and the cooler in mat? How did you paint the silicone joiners? Did you rub the pipes back a bit with some wet'n'dry before spraying? I am looking forward to install pictures
  13. I just put SL springs int he front of mine and need to take it to get the camber and alignment done. What is the difference between and camber kit and just putting shims in at the top control arm?

No Leather, 6 pot Brambo's, 19's or sports wheel. Tell them they are dreaming. They could see you coming from a mile away.

    What To Do..

You are going to pay 16k to go from an 07 XR6T to an 05 F6, to be honest I think you are going backwards. I am sure the F6 is nice but for the money they are asking, you would want it to be fully optioned and be pretty immaculate. So what is this F6 like, is it listed anywhere online? But at the end of the day you gotta do what makes you happy
  16. VU II would have had the Ecotech V6, which is a breathless POS IMO. He has a lot of catching up to do in terms of power and I doubt he will come close to matching the power of a FG 4.0 BTW your ute looks very nice, don't go bending it around a tree
  17. Supposed to me the same 315kw as the rest of the FPV V8 range from what I have read. Will slot in between then current XR8 and GT. The name has something to do with the new V8 (5.0L) that Ford will be getting soon, 302 is supposed to be related to the capacity rather then power. They must have a lot of Boss V8's laying around and making a special edition V8 will help move them maybe?

You may get about 20k on your as a trade-in, assuming you would trade, and its would be an 18k changeover. Keep your car and mod it. Being a late model BF you can spend 4k on performance mods and wipe the floor with a stock F6.
  19. I did the same not long ago. I ended up going to the local dealer and measuring up a BF XR6 ute to get the exact location of badges. I'll measure mine for you over the weekend.
  20. Figures all over the shop in here. If everyone used the same dyno and all other conditions where the same then maybe there would be more consistency.
  21. Thanks Adam. I'll stick with an XCal1 box and spend the extra $$$ on mods. Cheers.
  22. After a bit of driving mine seems to be dropping a bit. I don't think the previous owner drove it much and not sure what fuel was ran in it. After a tank of 98 my average has dropped to 13.6l/100km with an average speed of 46km/h. Only my second tank since I got it so still a bit heavy on the go paddle I am 90% the cat is stuffed too so not bad considering. I'll have to put up with it for while until the go fast bits go on and it gets tuned.
