Correct mate, they called it the Pursuit Ute. Check the following FPV page, they have a section on the ute http://fpv.com.au/gtrspec Its basically a GS ute with a GT front bumper and GT style wheels (not staggered like the r-spec sedan). 315 spec engine and no Brembos. Cheers
-
I would not put any money on it Steve Its a half arsed effort from FPV so its probably not worth them advertising it.
-
One of two things here: 1. People live under a rock. 2. FPV do a $hit job at advertising their products. Nitro, you obviously were not drunk enough as you are correct with what you saw. It's a black GS with lots of bright red lipstick that FPV slogs you an extra $6k for on top of a GS ute :-)

J@SNOT yes mine does have the under shelf liner on the inside of the boot. I'll give the little sacked another crack but this time I'll put it all back together as suggested :-) Cheers
-
Nah I did not try it with the shelf back in, I might give it another go next weekend with the shelf back in. Unless I got the polarity wrong with the response sub? I used the light green wire as the positive as you mentioned earlier.
-
Fitted the Response sub this morning and did a couple of back to back tests while I had the rear parcel cover off. First thing is the two new holes and two of the existing holes have to be elongated a lot to fit the factory screw locations. Basically make the holes oval shape towards the centre of the sub until all the holes line up. I make a little bridge connector with some male and female push in fittings so that I did not have to butcher the OEM plug for the sub, and I am glad I did. I find with the polarity swap, EQ set to Rock, and Bass at 3/4 the factory sub is pretty punch between Vol setting 15-20. Over 20 both the sub and speakers start to distort pretty bad if the music has a lot of bass. With the Response sub I found that it did not have nowhere near as much punch at lover volumes, even with the Bass set to max at volume 15 it was not as punchy. The Response sub is a lot better at higher volumes compared to the OEM sub and does not distort. But it is still not as punchy, the bass is pretty tinny. I think the Response sub would be much better in an enclosure. I guess it depends on the type of music you listen to and how loud you like your music. For me I found the OEM sub a bit better as it gave a bit more at lower volume. If anyone in WA wants a free Response sub PM me. Cheers

Hi sk8xr8, What do you think about the Herrod intake? Was it a straight fit or did you have to trim it make it fit? Any noticeable intake noise and throttle response gains? Cheers
-
I'll install mine this weekend and report back. I currently have my bass set to 3/4 and equaliser is set to Rock. Depending on the type of music the max volume is 15-20 before speakers start giving up.

Picked one up this arvo

Thanks mate. For anyone else interested here is the link to the actual sub http://www.jaycar.co...SUBCATID=1008#4 +1. I used their Response Kevlar Speakers in the past and for the $$$ they were great. Not sure what they sell at the moment but if the little sub is as good as what J@SNOT says, I can imagine the kevlar speakers will also be 10 times better than the OEM stuff.

J@SNOT, do you recall which way you hooked up the polarity on the new sub? Cheers

I highly doubt I will go a bigger turbo any time soon. Going a bigger turbo will probably mean valve springs, surge tank, bigger dump and exhaust etc so don't think it will happen any time soon. The mods I listed above are what will happen all in one go in the future. As Bellato suggested I will probably stick to a modded air box and filter. You are all right about the turbo side thought, for the money of a turbo side and battery relocation kit its better than dropping close to the same amount on a kpm or herrod intake. Cheers

Hi all, I am looking at all the intake options for an FG and I am not sure what the best would be for the $$$ spent. At the moment the car is bone stock and the following will be getting done at some point in the new year: - Pipe kit - PWR intercooler - Venon cat - ID 1000 injectors - Tune I want to change the intake now just to get some induction noise happening and also want it to work with the above mods down the track. I know that Turbo side is the best, however for the smaller turbo I don't think its worth it and if I ever got a bigger turbo I would change the intake to turbo side. Anyway the options that I am looking at are: 1. FG V8 airbox/snorkel and K&N filter 2. FG V8 airbox/snorkel and K&N filter + intake muffler 4" replacement pipe 3. Herrod intake with K&N pod 4. Herrod intake with K&N pod + intake muffler 4" replacement pipe 5. KPM intake with twin pod 6. KPM intake with twin pod + intake muffler 4" replacement pipe Is the 4" muffler replacement pipe going to give any benefit on the smaller XR6T? Are the Herrod and KPM intakes worth it over the V8 airbox/snorkel with the smaller turbo? At the moment I am leaning towards the Herrod intake because I think the pod will give a better induction note, but should I bother with the intake muffler replacement as well? Cheers

Fg Front Diffuser Like This...where?
XtRmn8 replied to CDR_078's topic in Interior & Exterior Workshop
As mentioned above, CAPA sell it. See here http://www.capa.com.au/accessories_ford.htm -
I just picked up my new FG on the weekend, bought it from a non ford dealer. Anyway I decided to check the oil last night and it looks like its just been changed, but the clowns overfilled it. It is about 5-7mm over the Full mark on the dip stick. I have no idea what they put in there so I am tempted to drop the oil and replace it.

I will post up some pictures when I take some good ones. Took it out for a good drive yesterday to show it off and still love it. It is so quiet, not much induction noise and the exhaust is on the quiet side too. Defiantly quieter exhaust note compared to a couple of Euro3 ones I drove when looking for one. I have to do something to at least get a bit more induction noise happening. Not sure how much backlash from the rear is normal, but there is defiantly some backlash there if you get on it hard and back off suddenly. driving it normally its very quiet and no clunks or noises. As its under NCW so I will happily take it back to Ford to have the diff bush done as many time as needed while it under NCW. Its only done 20000kms but from what I have seen/read on here the bushes fail pretty often? Cheers

What a fail! Sorry AusAnt I obviously did not read all your posts in this thread :-)

Hey mate, do a search for the subwoofer modification on the FG premium sound. There is a thread on here and on AFF about. But basically from the boot remove the 3 white clips holding the trim under the parcel shelf. Once you see the sub, unplug the connector, remove the retaining clip holding the metal connectors in the plastic plug, remove and swap the two wires over in the plug (reverse the polarity) and put it all back together. I did this yesterday and also applied about 0.25sqm of Dynamat around the sub and the difference is undeliverable The FG XR6T is the shizz for sure

One day too early Steve :sungum: Finally some good weather so should be a nice night.

They are the FG Mk2 optional factory 19" wheels.

That thing was done by a mob called Sprintex or something? I think it has a 4.6L Modular in it out of the early 2000 shape Mustangs with a Sprintex supercharger of some sort. Looks phaarking ugly if you ask me, not matter what angle you look at it from. They also had a black AU sedan version as well that I think had the same mechanical package and that was for sale for 30k. Also looked like a Lego/Supercheap special edition. More info on that red 2 door here http://www.trueblueford.com/AU2_300plus_Coupe.html

Tell me about it LAZY6.
