  1. XR5 Turbo does not have an EcoBoost like the current ST Focus. The current ST is a lot better than the old ST (XR5 Turbo) with the 2.5L 5cly.
  2. You are correct, all of the Walkingshaw upgrades are covered under warranty hence why they cost more what trusty old mate Tuna down the road can do.... Also if you put it into perspective, I doubt that the sort of person who walks in to spend $90-95k on a new GTS is going to be too phased about sending $8k on some modifications with full factory warranty, if they wanted more power/performance. .... I am surprised that price does not include some upgraded diff bushes

  7. Arron its not the whole cluster that was changed. Just the actual fascia. Someone on AFF had connections or worked for the place that printed them for Ford and there were a few group buys for custom made facias. Was one of the best viasul mods I did to the old BA. At night it looked 100 times better compared to the stock one.
  8. I am pretty sure "Captain Retard"s is a custom job. Someone swapped the cluster fascia. I'll post pictures of the one I put in my old BA.
  9. Could be original but your rpm neddle looks like its sitting above the zero mark? Mightjust be the picture though. I recall when I swapped the fascia in mine I ended pulling it out again because a couple of the neddles were not 100%.
  10. "Captain Retard" have you had you car since new? Looks like someone did a custer fascia swap on it. That text is from an F6X fascia. What makes me suspect that it was swapped is your techo needle does not rest on 0 like it should. There was a guy on AFF selling these years ago and I bought one and put it in my BA XR6T. They are F6X style fonts and they made them to suit F6 and XR6 clusters. I'll dig up a picture of my old BA cluster when I'm home a post it up.
  11. Get some stands and lift both sides of the rear and put the car on stands. With both wheels off and the bottom shock nut off it's pretty easy to remove the stock springs. Shorter springs should be even easier.

  14. The MY15 model also get a gloss black rear valance, which should look a lot better than the unpainted one. New style wheels also look better IMO. The ZF in the FG is a good box, but its getting on now and everyone has moved on to bigger and better things. Also everything behind the ZF suffers the same issues as the manual. I used to get a nice loud thud from the rear each time I'd back off the throttle.

  16. Congrats and good luck with the car Stripes. You can get the side fender and front blackout kit of eBay for half the price of what the RRP is. You got a very good trade in for the GT, must be happy with that. Also just make sure that they don't stuff you around with swapping over the suspension and that you get every nut n bolt from them.

  20. I just find it amusing that people think a car with 270kw and 500Nm+ is slow or underpowerd. If the daily commute to work is a race track than yes perhaps you could actually probably use all of that power and some. But with the speed limits, speed cameras and traffic jams around every corner big power is useless.
  21. Stripes, having sampled multiple VFs and owned an FG, I agree with all you have said. The VF is a much better car and as an overall package it is years ahead of the Falcon. I also think the VE2 was better than the FG. At the time of buying my FG I also looked at VE2 Bogan special , my head said Bogan special and heart FG. Ended up with the FG and sold it 2 years later. If I bought the Bogan special I'd probably still have it now. I fell out of love with my FG XR6T pretty quick after the novelty wore off. Its was an awesome engine in an ordinary car with terrible build quality. I have owned every model Falcon from EF to FG (excluding AU) so it felt weird not buying another Falcon but I was over putting up with all the crap. Was going to buy the last XR8 but after seeing the first pictures I knew it was time for a change. Was very close to getting a VF Redline wagon but needed something bit better on fuel due to the amount of kms I am doing so ended up with a diesel tank. Have not looked back since.

  23. Keyless entry and start are awesome. But if you want all the latest technology in an Ford sedan sold in AU don't bother with the FGX, go straight at the MY15 Mondeo. Most of the Falcon hardcore fanatics on AU Ford Forums don't seem to care about latest technology or lack of it in the FGX. They are still happy with the tape players in their EF Falcons. Also they prefer less tech becuase when they buy an FGX in 5 years time there will be less gimmicks in it to break.
  24. ^^ I agree about painting the badge black on the VF. But even with the huge lion badge on the grille, the VF imo looks much better.
