  1. Here are a quick snaps with the bumper back on. Growler intake scoop is covering the top right corner of the cooler.
  2. Pics below of SSL rear with trimmed bump stops. If they were not trimmed there would be less then 5mm clearance between the bump stop and arm.
  3. I had no problem removing and re-using any of the clips here. Seaton, I was not willing to pay over $300 and waited until something came up that was reasonable. Ended up getting mine for under $300, but I did keep an eye on forums classified, ebay and gumtree for a few months until a decent one popped up.
  4. Sorry to go off topic, but why is an F6E soo much better then an F6? Apart from the obvious visual difference and memory seats, mechanically all the F6E has over the F6 is bigger brakes from factory?
  5. Might be worth checking over east as well. Dealers here are asking stupid money for F6s.
  6. Pretty easy to test if your alternator is not charging. You will need a battery charger and a simple digital multimeter. Charge your batter until its fully charged and then watch the video below to see what you need to do. If your reading stays the same or drops when you start the car your alternator is not charging at all. Also remember to load test it as per the video to make sure it is coping with load.
  7. Seaton, I fitted an F6 cooler to my Euro4 XR for the same reason. Massive visual improvement I don't have a picture with the bumper back on yet as but below are a couple of pictures to give you an idea.
  8. I agree that kings seem to be a bit all over the shop but it could also be the way everyone measure their HTG. Mine dropped approx 20mm front and rear so hopefully after a bit more driving it drops another 5mm and I'll be happy. My car is pretty close to kizzers G6E at the front, but the back is nowhere near as low at the picture. I have noticed that G6Es with SSL front and low always look lower than XRs with the same springs. Could the lawn bowls and gold clubs in the boot?
  9. Just fitted a set of King SSL front and rear springs and these are the HTG measurements with full tank of fuel and factory shocks: Before:F - 368mm R - 372mm After:F - 350mmR - 352mm I will recheck in about 2 weeks and update with settled HTG and some pictures. I'll be happy if they settle another 5mm at each end.
  10. All (except the recent RSpec GT) Ford and FPV factory wheels fitted to every FG are 8" wide. The only exception is the RSpec GT that comes with 9" wide rear wheels. The wheel fitted to an XR50 Turbo are the same 19x8" wheels as fitted to an FG XR with luxury pack, the only difference of the XR50 wheel is the colour.
  11. Another quality thread. Cheers.
  12. Steve send me a map mate. Might come for drive if the wether holds together. Cheers
  13. I am pretty sure this is a DJR knock-off produced by Fibresports? The original DJR bobtail on the Proto8 car had the LED break light strip in a different position. Here is the link the AFF thread I mentioned earlier: http://www.fordforums.com.au/showthread.php?t=11336744 I have been contemplating getting one but would like to see one in real life before ordering one.
  14. There is a good thread on AFF about the DJR style bobtail.
  15. CDR_078, that looks good. Mine will be same the same but just in white .......minus rear wing. You can go an SSSL spring in the back and it will give it more squat. Only problem then is clearance under car when going down steep driveways etc.
  16. Looks good CDR_078. Are you running OEM shocks? Can you post your HTG measurements for front and rear and indicate how much fuel is in the tank when you measured? Cheers
  17. griffo you will need hub rings I think with the 73mm center bore. Also it looks like the 15mm spacers above do not have a lip to center the rim so could be asking for trouble with regards to wheels being out of center especially with the bigger bore size of the spacers. The 25mm spacers that Trainer used are the best I have seen, just with they came in 15mm and 20mm as well.
  18. There is a complete XR8 airbox and snorkel on AFF classifieds for $50.
  19. As per your last thread you need the XR8 lower airbox half as well. Also the snorkel fouls on the bonnet and drive belt so has to be trimmed and moulded to fit. Not worth it IMO and you would no notice any gains. Just keep an eye on the classifieds section and ebay for an intake.
  20. VF Late model camira is being revealed on 10th Feb and I can't imagine that it will be too long before it is on showroom floors. For that reason I would hold out buying a VE because when VF is released the remaining VE stock should go pretty cheap. If you are concerned about fuel Economy have a look at the 2.0L EcoBoost FG. You can get 2012 plated G6 demo for around 30k and both power and economy is better than the 3.0L VE. Also real world Economy for the 3.0L vs 4.0L is not as good as the tag on the windscreen may suggest: http://theage.drive.com.au/motor-news/bathurst-1000--with-a-twist-20091009-gqou.html http://www.motoring.com.au/reviews/2010/large-passenger/ford/berlina/holden-commodore-berlina-vs-ford-falcon-g6-18105
  21. Jet are you referring to the App or the dongle?
  22. Cheap 7" Huawei Mediapad 7 Lite Android table at Coles for $139. Get a universal tablet mount and put it in bottom right of windscreen and have all the gauges you want using the Torque app
