Sounds like you went may have gone to Titan Ford for an XR8 quote At the end of the day if you are serious you may be better off buying something over east. You will have lots more choice and also pay less.

Talking about suede patches, the FG FPVs actually have the entire center console side panels covered in suede. Don't think the B series models have the same. This not only stops the seat buckle rubbing and tapping against the center console, but also stops the squeaking from leather seats running on hard plastic. Used to drive me nuts in the FG.

Hey Butt Plug, how many traffic lights between your house and the shops? Just think about it, for every light you have to stop at that is 1 second longer it will take you to get to Coles in the R8 compared to the F6 I know its a hard slog driving a slow car haha

I don't mind the look of the FG X, but I just don't like it enough to consider buying one. I was holding out for the last XR8 but after seeing the lack of change on the inside and a somewhat bland makeover of the front and rear that just don't blend (imo) well with the rest of the car I started looking at other alternatives. While a great package it was not different enough to the the FG for me. In Black or Smoke the new XR8 does look quiet nice in person but again nothing special. If upgrading from a B series it may have been a different story.

This thread is gold! OP at the end of the day it's your money you are spending and you need to be happy with whatever you buy. FG F6 over FGX imo but as others have suggested you might struggle to find a good late low km model for 50k.

Nice ride Butt Plug, its nearly as cool as a Jeep With regards to the wheels, I recon get them painted black and they will look heaps better. You have just been used looking at the same wheel designs from Ford/FPV since 2002 so your still in shock seeing something different, which is normal

The on-board calculation in my FG were within 0.2L per 100km so pretty accurate. Best and most accurate way to calculate it manually by tracking your fuel used and distance traveled. Reset one of your trip computers when you fill up and next time you fill up you can work out consumption (L/100km) based on kms traveled (trim computer reading) and fuel used (amount of fuel required to fill the tank).

After 14 years and 6 different Falcons/Fairmonts I no longer own or drive one. Can't see myself buying another Falcon in the future either.

On the subject of wheels I think the optinal black SV wheels (or whatever they are called) are one of the best looking wheels out there. Not a fan of white on white.

Awesome looking machine Butt Plug! The rear end on the VF (especially the HSV) looks great IMO. Its a tough looking car no matter which angle you look at it from. Defiantly brings the best out of all the of jealous folk in here posting useless sh!t as usual

Yea the 5cly did sound very good. The EcoBoost ST sounds nice too, but it amplifies the induction sound in the cabin. Power wise the ST feels a lot better on the road. Awesome little car that is cheap when you compare it to the competitors like the Golf GTI, Megan RS etc. Even better IMO is the little Fiesta ST

Yea you are right. But add another $15k for better brakes, suspension, half shafts, clutch or trans cooler and a few new diff bushes and you still would not be close Power is not everything and you can't compare an XR6T to a GTS.
