Dowen, I saw let the dealer fit them and if they are not 100% they will have to redo them. If you take it elsewhere you will not be able to take it back should anything happen to the stripes. Its good that they are doing the right thing by you thought.
-
dowen, congratulations on the new GT mate. You have just bought one of the last true GTs this country will ever see. Looks awesome in white, but I am biased there No offense mate but if I bought a new genuine GT with genuine factory GT stripes, I would have not accepted it with an eBay sticker pack. I too am a stickler for details and that's the first thing I noticed looking at your pictures, those stripes don't look quiet rights.
-
Why not just call it GT? Sounds like another half arsed effort of mix and matching from existing parts bin and adding some different colour stripes.
-
^^^ what he said. If your budget is 25k that should get you a nice manual XR50T. Otherwise just buy a G6ET.

I don't mind ordering them for local Perth members who want a set as I am in for a set myself. Any leftover sets will be sold at $990 per set to undercut Ralph Wiggum who is trying to flog a used set for a couple large.
-
I am pretty sure the ones below are identical to the Talab Tyres ones that have been out of stock for 2 years. They work out to about $60 posted for one set, but each additional set is only $5 to post. If any Perth members are interested in a bulk order let me know as we can save a few $$ on postage. These are the skinnier tuner style nut that is required for some aftermarket wheels such as TSW etc. http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/140862626729?ssPageName=STRK:MEWAX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1423.l2649

I could be wrong but I am pretty sure it ran 579rwkw. I don't know if the 10.15 run was achieved with a different tune.
-
The old shape were not great in terms of build quality. However the new shape is miles ahead of the old one. Same can be said for the new Jeep GC.

^^^^ Sooooo much win The new 300 is a good bit of kit. So much car and kit for the $$$ at any model level in the range.

Did you read the AFF thread I linked above? The car in that thread is the fastest 5.0 in Australia. Engine, exhaust etc are all stock factory, still running factory paper air filter. This car is running a 2.6 KB kit developed in Australia for the 5.0 Miami and is making close to 600rwkw. It is also running a Circle-D converter. Tuned by XFT (forum sponsor). It ran a 10.1 last Wednesday night here is Perth, see here: If that combo was in a sedan it would have run a 9. No disrespect for any 5.4 owners, but if you are going to throw money at a car the 5.0 IMO is a much better base. You would need to spend $1000's on a 5.4 to keep up with a tune only Miami. So why the phhaarkk would you waste your time with the 5.4??

^^ That GT is nice but I am not sure about the white. I agree with the black being a dust, scratch and fingerprint magnet. But I also think that a good quality aftermarket job with a few coats of clear will be a lot more durable then the OEM for piano black. Other options that I have been thinking about are a dark graphite with a few coats of gloss. Even a darker silver with gloss would look good. I think what makes the factory silver look cheap is the fact that its a light silver and also a flat finish. Look at the pictures that GeGe6 posted on the previous page of the G6ET 50th with a gloss silver finish, it looks 1000 times better then the flat silver and a lot classier.

You local council tip will have an oil disposal facility. You should be able to dump the oil and containers for free. Probably best to ring your local council and enquire.

Phaaark, and I though the quote I got on the parts alone way high. So they are doing everything apart from the section around the screen? That will look odd in my opinion. Also you can separate the screen from the plastic surround. To change the ICC fascia you have to dismantle the whole ICC anyway, which includes removing the screen. Looking at the above pics its odd how they used the silver steering wheel controls on the R-Spec but left the black ICC buttons. Also make sure they do the rear cover as well around the rear air vents.
-
turboboink, you most likely have gloss black/carbon look dash and door spears, flat grey ICC with silver buttons and flat grey console. This is XR luxury pack configuration from factory.
-
Mick, XR50th has piano black which is the same as regular G6ET. The graphite in your G6ET 50th is nice. I like that it's a gloss finish. The regular XR and FPV flat silver is dated and look cheap. Shame Ford did not change it with the Mk2 at least.
-
That's what I though. I've seen both G6ET and XR50T in person when looking to buy an FG and they both looked identical to me. The actual dash spears are not a plain piano black, they have a fake carbon finish but are still cover in flat gloss. Yes the FPV started button is very 1984 Might be another option, but painting them will result in identical (probably better) finish to the OEM parts.
-
I did not know that. I know the XR50 and XR luxury pack dash spears have a carbon look but I thought the ICC and centre console were the same piano black.
-
As mentioned before the G6ET and XR50 models also have the piano black as well, except for the FPV tissue box cover section. Make sure you are sitting down when you call spare parts and they give you the total for all the parts that are needed to convert to a piano black center console The parts you need are: - ICC screen surround - ICC center section - Silver ICC buttons - Tissue holder or in your case the tissue holder cover with FPV build number and starter button - Center console cover - Center console rear cover (around rear vents) The other option is, you can pull it all apart and take the parts to a painter and have them painted in a gloss black finish for about a third of the price. Or get good second hand parts from wrecks and once you have all the bits get them painted, so you have the piano black and all your original parts should you ever decide to swap it back. I am in the process of collecting all the bits and will get them painted once I have everything.

Rage 3" Catback On Fg Xr6T...waste Of Time Or ?

I think moral of the story is that nothing beats a good dump. -
^^ won't happen mate. I think the VE to VF update will not be matched by the new Falcon. You have to remember they have a very limited budget to play with and majority of changes will be exterior. Its a shame because when you think about it Ford has had the tech in other cars for years but they just neglected the Falcon IMO. On the other hand those new 300s are a nice bit of kit. I'd be happy with a pearl white 300C Luxury

How Do I Find Out When My Ford Warranty Expires?
XtRmn8 replied to ***VX*R8***'s topic in General Car Talk
Inside of back page in owners manual should have details of when car was first registered and who to etc. -
Be realistic guys. At around 500 combined falcon sales per month do you really think they will invest any money in engine development? At best it will be another sticker special.
-
If they do bring back the 351 badge for the final build, it will have nothing to do with engine capacity. Based on dyno figures the "335kw" V8s make close to that figure at the wheels. They can update the stickers to say "Boss 351" and they would still be understating the actual flywheel output of the engine. I think if they are going to do it, they may as well quote the actual flywheel power and put "Boss 402" on them instead.

I have been following the AFF thread like a hawk over the past month and a couple of good sources have basically confirmed the following regards the new Falcon. Some of these have also been backed up by spy pictures. Exterior: - New front bumpers across range - New headlights, same shape for each model but XRs get unique halo DRLs - New bonnet - New quarter panel side indicators from base model SZ Territory (with an orange lens!) - Front quarter panels remain unchanged apart from indicator - Rear view mirrors remain unchanged - New boot lid - New rear bumpers across range with new diffuser designs - New rear 2 piece tail lights. Tail light will extend onto boot lid. They will have noen strip illumination. (apparently very similar in look to new XF Jaguar) - No other sheet metal changes to rear. - No other sheet metal changes to doors - All new models will have a roof mounter antenna. - Some models get new wheel designs (from what has been seen in spy pics) Interior/tech: - Very minimal changes due to budget, overall the dash design will be FG carryover. - The ICC and touchscreen area will get minor changes (design) but overall same shape. - Door cards will get minor updates in how they are trimmed - The dash gauge cluster will get an update - Minor trim changes across the board, however seats remain unchanged in shape. - Steering wheel may get minor update - Some model will have both front and rear parking sensors - Some models with have auto wipers - Base model will come with rear camera and colour ICC screen - It has been hinted that the new Falcon will get the FordSync system from Focus/Kuga Overall I don't think the new Falcon will get anywhere near the amount of change or new tech as what the VF got. Bit of a shame rally but what can you expect as it will only be on sale for 2 years and considering Ford can't give them away, we should be lucky that it is even coming. I think the most exciting thing about the new Falcon is the return of the XR8 and the possibility that the 335kw SC 5.0L V8 will be available for well under 50k.
