Looks like some sort of mounting bracket. Could be for the cameras in the cars. Could try a razor blade as id imagine it would only be glued on

Its not if you have the right socket + extension and drive. It will take more time to remove the seats undo all the wiring and have the risk of possibly damaging the car

By looking at his Avatar it could be a Ba with the 5 speed. You could be right in saying its a gear box issue -

Standard clutch (original)? and what K's are on the car -
You DONT need to remove the seat. Just put the seat right back and used the side controls to make it go right up. I think they are 10 or 12mm bolts

Pull the cross over off. Get a mate to look at the butterfly. Put the car onto reds then push on the accelerator. If the butterfly doesn't move when you just lightly touch the throttle then id say its your pedal assembly
