  1. As Lord Cyric posted the handsfree is a piece of piss to install. If you don't want the cradle (therefore use bluetooth) it can be done in no time. I'd personally suggest you forget the Ford unit - I used the Nokia Bluetooth Handsfree unit (at a fraction of the cost) and have had no problems at all (using a similar method to the before mentioned attachment). As for the SatNav - I've actually never used the ford unit. Wouldn't the overlays still be functional for all the HVAC controls (no CD though)? Mine are with the DVD installed - considering its using the SatNav inputs??
  2. You are correct Cobra, that 'something else' was contained my first post. I have S Video coming out of my Alpine DVD -> Convertor -> ICC. that's the way that I know how it works, and as Adam pointed out the second link will give you the ICC pinouts which you can match up with the output of the convertor.
  3. If you know what you are doing its not hard at all. All that being said - I had no exact idea which wires when to which (from the convertor to the screen) untill advised/helped by a generous member (from here). The video side is all explained here http://www.fordmods.com/forums/documents.php?doc=38 If you aren't confident after reading that then I wouldn't attempt it on your own.
  4. This is the one I use (as recommended by a forum member) http://www.carconverters.com.au/products/S...verter/236.html I haven't had any dramas to mention....
  5. I've had the EXACT same thing happen to me quite a few times, and yes my car revs quite high on start up and guess where my car was tuned - the wog. I'd be interested to know if anyone can shed any light on the matter because It can be quite annoying sometimes - not to mention if it is in anyway damaging.
  6. that's possibly a bit too much they are asking for it. I've got a Sep 04 Mkii Turbo with 39000 Kms on it (sunroof, dual climate control, sports leather, rear parking sensors, tow bar etc) I got it over a year ago for less than the one you are looking at. Other than that, watch out for brake shudder, creaky steering, driveline shunt. Otherwise all the normal car stuff, engine leaks, straight body (sagging front bar for BA's).... If those look ok I'd get it checked by a professional if you are not sure.
  7. It will sell for an amount similar to what is being asked for it. As has been pointed out, you are not really buying a car, you are buying an asset with the view to make money. As Zap mentioned, it is like buying art - the worth is far more than the some of its parts. Its probably going to be a facet of some rich bastards superannuation portfolio along with shares, property and the like - possibly not ever to be used by the buyer. It shows that there must be some value in Aussie muscle cars - without the demand they wouldn't even dream of asking these types of dollars.
  8. Ok, thanks guys - I'm convinced. Back on it goes.
  9. They dont look too bad, they actually look like they've copied the style from Work Emotion CR Kai's http://www.work-wheels.co.nz/wheels/work_emotion_crkai.htm
  10. I'm running Alpine 5x7's (factory tweets still in the front) all round and they are a marked difference to the factory stuff. Mines running of the stock unit at the moment and I think you'll find most of these guys are too.
  11. Whats everyones thoughts on re-fitting the undertray. When I did my cooler I ran out of time and haven't put it back on yet, what real useful purpose does it serve. Or in otherwords, convince me that it needs to go back on
  12. I'm so happy I have seen this thread, now I feel like I'm normal again I've got a T, with leather and a sunroof and I have a permanent lean to the left so that my head doesn't touch the roof. I came to the conclusion with my old car (200SX with a sunroof) that I must have a disproportionately larger torso/leg combination than most people. I'd be very interested to hear how you go - I don't want to have aftermarket seats
  13. Anyone know the best way to hook up the volts one... I mean I can quite easily take a guess how it would, but where is the best place to connect them... Where are you Mike? I have done the autometer cobolt boost guage on mine (with Aly's pod) - mechanical guage, not electrical - but easy as.
  14. Some very nice components you have there.... Must sound great Will be the perfect cruiser when you get the power mods
  15. I new there would be some smartarse that would throw that one in there... I'm making up some components for my audio install in the boot and was going to colour code some of the bits - I'll see if I can be bothered.
  16. I wasn't planning on using it on the exterior of my car, my reference to a panel beather was to see if they could mix it for me.... My balls are big, but I wont be spraying from a can onto the exterior of my car
  17. Hi Huys, I was hoping to purchase a pressure pack (in Lightning Strike), but is all the places I have looked this morning (just normal auto retailers) I haven't been able to find any. Has anybody specificaly purchased some and if so where from. I've got some touch up paint (the nail polish style bottles) but that wont do the job. Or do I need to go to a panel beater? Thanks, Chris.
  18. Put down XTC as one of your options to check out, along with HPF and NIZPRO I have had work done by JMM as have quite a few mates back some 5 years ago. I wasn't very happy and neither were any of my mates. Most of us ended up getting the work re-done elsewhere. Last time I was there they had a very, very happy dyno too....
  19. Yeah I have used what -MOKSTA- is referring to. You need to have a RGB input for the ICC screen, I converted the signal from my Alpine DVD player using the convertor here http://www.carconverters.com.au/products/S...verter/236.html
  20. Hey Guys, I cant find my docs that I used. The friendly guys at FordMods have a doco you can follow for the video http://www.fordmods.com/forums/documents.php?doc=38 You can use one of those connectors from Ebay to get audio in... However I (personally) have got no idea of the outputs from an XBOX or PS2 so it might not be the best option..... Have a look at a thread around here called 'Digital TV proof of concept' or somethin similar, I'm pretty sure there has been some conversation relating XBOX's in there.
  21. I've got a diagram of the pin outs on the ICC side for the video input side of your question..... I got it from a very helpful person who is a member of this forum, who If I cant find my copy, will surely give you the info you need. Do you have the 'Ipod/MP3 aux input' on you current ICC setup? that's easily used for the audio side of things otherwise there is a plug behind the fuse panel that will allow you to sort the audio out.

Ive Used the following Castrol Edge Castrol Magnatec Nulon (10W-30 dont know if it has a name) I was annoyed that I couldn't find the fully syth Nulon but I thought I'd give the 10W-30 one a go. I Must say I like it the best out of the bunch that I have used so far... Next I might give Motul a shot
  23. Exactly what I was going to say - That is the best AU I have ever seen - its almost worth the money to ensure that nobody has to look at the saggy bum AU series Faclons.
  24. Hell yeah, MOS have great video clips.... I've got rips from most of the DVD's in the car - the wife thinks its just for an excuse to watch booby - the songs aren't too bad too. (NOTE :only when the car is stopped and in park of course) Still gottta love Max Graham Vs Yes - Owner Of A Lonely Heart.. oh heah
  25. http://www.drive.com.au/Editorial/ArticleD...ArticleID=39086 I'm surprised if this hasn't been mentioned yet - but it was announced today
