  1. From what I understand theres some slight re-engineering work that needs to be done for the t56. IMHO - The blue oval doesnt really want to piss off customers that have come back to the BA falcon series after the not so successfull AU series. Where-as gmh traditionally just discount all over the place reducing resale faster then a virgin in brothel. Ford simply just throws more into the package itself. Just wish they'd make a XrT style Territory.... with a touch more boost pressure for the extra weight gain....
  2. Be interested in how much she .... especially after 1500k's. Under 1500 its gunna be nastie... Damn nice looking car. Even the monaro looks semi decent when parked near the hot looking XR
  3. must admitt... I actually took the time to fill it out. Didnt cost me anything so to speak. However, according to the form you are sposed to go in a draw for $1000 worth of product and get a voucher (from the dealer) for $100 off product. Filled it out in July havent seen . To add insult to injury, I even got the dealership/salesperson another direct sale (in less then 3 weeks of mine) and all they had to do was spend a hour or two with the customer for an instant sale. So much for a spotters fee. Dale ford, you can

    Hail Damage

Me T was very lucky. Only just driven out to me parents near parramatta and me mother was freaking about the storm that afternoon. I parked the T in the garage to keep the peace. No sooner had I and heavens opened up. The grass (well there's not much of that due to Sydney's fantastic run of perfect blue sky's until very recently... Melb record weather cant beat Sydney's perfect run! ) was an inch+ deep in snow/sleet/hail within 30-40secs, the road turned white within 60sec's.
  5. Let me say upfront it does look impressive. I do have a 'stupid question' thou... I'm no mechanic by any means of the imagination, however isnt the reason why the blue oval is not sucking air (from a factory view point) thru the bonent (like a wrx) is the fact that air drawn in via the front air intake is 'normally cooler' then if sourced via the top of the bonnet? ie Typically heat from the engine block is radiating upwards throu the air intake thus warming up the air, thus expanding it/etc
  6. The dealer... who just so happens to be Dale Ford. No complaints so far about their service department , except for their physical location. Its a good walk to buses and/or the train station. I reckon it wont be going back there for its next service as im miles away and its a real pain in the getting the car to them. They even gave me T a good thrashing for free...was averaging 13.5/14's when I took it for service. When I got it back, it had done another 9/10k's and fuel average counter had shot up to 20 something.... mmmmm. Initiately I was pissed, however I took me T out and fanged her a little. Dunno what they did 'extra' in the service but shezzzzzz her balls where back! (was a little sluggish before service.) However, I was quite disapointed with their 'final inspection' before I received the car. Extremely poor job. :banghead:
  7. Me thinks its time to invest in a shotgun...
  8. FPR need to do their home work. I'd like to see the FPR car actually make it across the finish line. Heaven forbid in the top 10. So far its really a poor show on FPR's front. How can anyone blame "high profile" drivers defecting elsewhere? I cant imagine why any "high profile" driver would want to race in car that time after time keeps breaking down? However if FPR can get their home work right on the engine, a up and coming driver could be poised just right.
  9. Mar 04 A bit of drive line thunk... dealer subbie stuffed up the factory tinting and all window rubber seals had to be replaced because of the subbies 3rd rate job... However, I love ze raw power and feel on the road!!!! Given the fact most cops are gettings these beasts over those v8 ss's makes me kind of wonder what the blue oval has done for the boys in blue that we joe public dont get...
  10. Considering fuel prices its sure a cheaper way to get a 98ron rated tank full.
  11. Must admitt I was lucky enough to test drive the T, XR8, SSS and Monaro. I almost bought the Xr8 just for that awesome engine growl... however the one thing I disliked about the xr8 was how heavy it felt. Especially if you start to drive it spiritly or at low speeds and need to turn quickly. Dont get me wrong. It felt great in straight line take off/drag! The T on the other hand felt very nymble, rocket power and had its own subtle growl (or banshie howl...) The thee reasons why I bought one! SSS and monaro... where does one start... agricultural klunker gearbox, absolutely gutless under 3500rpm, sounds like the engine is going blow when you do fang it, vague stearing, a clutch that no matter how far you depress it thru the floor boards will still allow the gears to crunch, shhh-shhh noises coming from brakes (both cars tested had only done 300-500k's), clunking noises from the power steering...
  12. Damn good! Pitty the silly spectators didnt get a little closer...
  13. Einstein factor!
  14. Yellow flag.... nah! Should have been a bullseye flag pointing to where Skaife was...
  15. I posted the following to Ford Australia... -+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+ Giday I'm hoping that someone can shed some light on this. Ford stipulates pulp 95ron as the recommended fuel in a T. However, does the standard factory on-board computer in the XR6T detect the difference between 95/96/97/98 ron? If so, does it mix/burn it differently? Thanks in advance Brenton -+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+ and here's ford OZ repsonse.... Dear Brenton, Thank you for your e-mail to Ford Motor Company of Australia Limited. Unfortunately, Ford Australia is unable to provide technical advice via telephone, or written communication. We suggest that you have your vehicle assessed by an Authorised Ford Dealership for any technical advice. Regards, Customer Service Representative Ford Customer Relationship Centre Address: Private Mail Bag 5 Campbellfield VIC 3061 Phone: 13 36 73 (13 FORD) (Local Call) Email: customers@fordcrc.com.au For the latest updates, visit www.ford.com.au -+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+ Talk about a "FOAD" answer. I thought the question was fairly direct and to the point. I suppose what do you expect from a company that apparently listens to their customers. All in all, I do agree if you run the higher grade fuel there is potential of getting a cleaner burn with less chance of the dreaded ping. Thus leading to the possibility of better fuel economy, maxium power and less wear/tear on the engine. Problem is that most of us have the fun button firmly planted thru the floor boards ... so any "extra power" im sure is quickly consumed.
  16. Maniac - Any engine mods? On a recent 1,500k round trip with mostly highway driving (100/110ish or so... ) I averaged around 10.5 on vortex. On the return trip following the same route I averaged 10.8 running on optimax.
  17. I cant think why you shouldnt use Caltex Vortex (96ron). The only justified reason I can think of that would compell one to pay for the over-priced optimax/ultimate is when your cars engine is tunned for it. Ford stipulates pulp 95ron as the recommended fuel in a T. Unless the engine "knows" the difference between 95ron and 98ron, your pi**ing money out the exhaust pipe. As far as I know a standard factory T knows the difference between 91 and 95. FordTECH might be able to shed some light on whether the standard factory T knows the difference between 95/96/97/98 ron. Yeah the fuel companies are always ready to quickly to push up the price blamming anything from moon alignments to shareholder profits... the funny thing thou is that the oz government benefits just as much when they do. And when the current government aka Costello states publicily to the nation "People had better get used to paying over a $1 a litre"; you know their in colusion! Its good to see a government that sympathises with its citizens... NOT!
  18. Yeah the Ford REX system is quite neato!
  19. a) Reduce the cars overall weight (the whole BA series).... please!!! b) 6 speed box c) A way to turn off that bright low petrol warning light. Its so damn distracting (one could argue that its slightly dangerous as you have trouble focusing on the speedo) on the instrument panel especially at nite. d) Fix the unexplained dramatic loss of power in the T. e) A super or turbo charged Boss... e) A twin turbo option would be nice!

    My Poor Baby!

MMM.. From the look of the pics it appears the chassis is bent... especially about the top of the B pillar. Of more a concern is the bottom of the B pillar on the main chassis. Youch! Might want to re-locate the aps gear b4 the issurance assessor gets to it... Must admitt I can feel the pain, as I 2 have been in a similar situation but in my case the that caused the accident got away. On a positive note thou, your accident photo's do prove how damn strong the new fords are!

lowndes with more engine problems... Did they actually mention what the heck was wrong with the FPV? Damn if the guys at FPV cant get the V8 to work, what chance do we joe-public have? Maybe the spark gap was set incorrectly....
  23. Must admitt, I 2 reckon optimax is a little on the nose after being burnt. However the power gained from optimax is not what I call breath-taking, considering the huge markup in price they ask for it. Power from my T running on vortex is fantastic right throughout the rev range. However, the T running on optimax seems to be slugish under 2,500rpm. Correct me if im wrong but the "factory" blue oval T's computer is tunned to understand two types of fuel. Standard unleaded (91/92 ron) or premium unleaded (95+ ron.) In theory there should be any difference in the way a factory T's would mix/burn optimax, ulimate, vortex, anything of 95+ ron?
  24. damn interesting!
  25. must admitt it does look a little plain to begin with.... however... stick on dark window tint and it looks day or nite!
