imagine the burn out...

Yeah mine too has that same noise. It goes away when I shut the windows just like the squeek squeek of the brakes once they get hot... Brakes never used to squeak when they where made of asbestos, darn cancers!
-
Must admitt Wayne_D im in the same boat... however have had the T for just over a year! To be honest I'd leave it stock standard for a little while then up the anty. The one thing you really *must* invest in are the premium brakes if you do up the anty. Give her a diet of BP98 and she'll thrust ya back many a time until u need that little bit more... In the meantime just take her out at nite (for refillling) when its nice and cold like 11c's... I V my T!!!

Yeah it can be a little strange at first but generally its seating thing and to some extent the way your grab'n the gear shift. Unlike the SS the Xr's have a nice short throw on the change. Instead of grabing the gear shift selector with the palm of your hand; grib the shift changer with just the Pointer and index fingers, and guide the change. Dont try and brute force it like the notchy clunky agricultural SS. U'll find it will be nice and fast change every time unlike the notchy clunky agricultural SS setup... even if you do get the short shift change.

As long I still keep launching from lights with my stock T :w00t: leaving the Heavy S y Vehicles in my dust I dont care too much about the flash itself. Not that I condone street racing... As for the 5K off the re-sale price... I dunno. I reckon those oil companies are doing more damage anyway! Still, I'd be interested in the Dyno's. I've got to get my 15k service done on me Mark I. does anyone know the ball park cost of dyno checks?
-
Prolly a dumb question but worth asking... Envy-T; what type of gas do you have in the tank? Mine does this occasionally too. But only when I got a bit of a jungle juice mixture in the tank ie A bit of Vortex, BP Ultimate; BP premium; Optimax.
-
Silly question... has anyone dyno'd before and after the service where Ford decides to flash regardless? Assuming that you dont have the ecu modded... I'm seriously considering to do mine before and after the 15k service.

Have you ever wanted to see what happens when one pushes the xr6t a little... Mighty Xr6T pumping hard

Divx is the better of the video compression technologies these days. Mp3 for audio. 320x240 @ 25fps resolution is the absolute minimum that you want to capture at. However it would be advisbale to kick it up to 30 fps. If you can sqeeze that bit extra out of your capture card kick it up to 640x480 @ 25+ fps. Best not to use any propriertary formats that come with your capture card, otherwise there could be potential conversion problems furhter down the track.

Sure can tell who the cane toad supporters are around here... Go the Doggggies! Time for some rooster dinner! Was there some sort of grand final last saturday... the ONLY real footy Grandfinal to be watching is on this weekend. AFL = League

I thought that semi synthetic was better to use the fully synthetic?

Dick J states it quite well. If u cant drive simply dont. Driving is a priveledge and is not a right. However every one does have the right to attempt the appropriate driving tests... Mature drivers pulling caravans (or not) crusing along straight and level single carriage lane roads at 90/95 but no sooner an over taking possibility exists, they accelerate at warp speed, Sydney taxi/courier drivers, Sydney bus drivers who think they went to the same driving school as Dickie J and reckon that there 40ton of steel can not manovure but stop just as quick as the average car, Learner Driver cars that actually dont indicate there is or isnt a learner at the wheel of that car, people who fear or simply just cant (and shouldnt) be driving (just check out the roads next to the local school and/or shopping centres at the start or conclusion of the schooling day), people who cant compherend the meaning of "Keep Left unless overtaking" or "Slow vehicle prohibited on this freeway." Cars dont kill, moronic drivers do! All roads out there should have "un-restricted" limit on them within reason. If its a straight bit of split dual carriage road (which a lot of it is) then the speed limit should be higher than the moronic limit of 110. For heaven sake, the royal flying doctors use the actual Nullabour hwy as the runway slip. I bet that aircraft is doing more then 110 upon touch down!!! Its all a good laugh when you know that just about all pollies speed as fast as damn well like. Speed limits dont apply to them.

The rex isnt much of a match really from 60-110 either. All you have got to do is simply get ze revs of the mighty T up to 2300rpm and kick down a gear. U'll launch like there's no tomorrow. Dont think I've ever heard a rex being flat changed b4, but by geeezzzz it was fun 2 listen 2! The other thing u should look 4 is how many occupants are in that rex before u decide to hit that warp button. If there's only two best to always double check.... however if the car has 4, then even if you do have 4 occupants your still going to kick that rex's

tiz not good to hear your misfortune. Hope you find the culprit and run the over. Maybe a bit of steel and plastic rammed thru their thick little skulls will help to remind them to respect others property. Bets on its some little who has nothing else better to do. Essentially pissed off that his old man (if indeed the little knows who its real father is..) or himself cant afford this type of car and decides that no-one else should be able to have one else. Remember not to reverse over once you do run it over. You only get one go at it so to speak. Its an accident until u have a second go, then its pre-medated man slaughter then.

Has any1 experienced/tried bumping up the RON rating past 98 and "ran it" thru the T?
-
They are the same in RON rating. However, optimax is supposidly a 'denser' fuel then ulimate. ie the theory being that you will use less of it to deliver the same amount of power.
-
If your going to up the boost, u must use the higher octane fuel. Otherwise pre-ignition aka knocking will occur... and engine life expectancy will go the wrong way. Generally speaking the higher the octane, the higher chance of getting a 'cleaner' burn. Thus the chance the engine will produce its peak power output at every given rpm. Having done quite a number of k's in my T, I can honestly say on the open road, the difference between ulimate and vortex (plus optimax/etc) is didly squat. U'll drink around 10litres. Power difference... well regardless which jungle juice u get, u will overtake cars like a low flying jet. Where its going to make the biggest potential difference in the T (and most cars), is that 0 -> takeoff.

$198/hr.... damn!!! Time to do some more free lance IT work again. XP's sp2 fw is well... I guess better then nothing. Personally, I'd dump it. M$ has left some *nice* backdoors for itself... Steps I'd do 1. XP = swiss cheese software - Peform an OS lockdown 2. Get Sygate Personal Firewall (its free...), adaware, spybot, ad-watch, and zone alarm. Install and config appropriately. 3. Upgrade your external firewall/router so that it does support statefull packet inspection and dont forget to set those firewall rules.
-
JT - I used to think that way as well. A extra few K's ... so what I'd think. Untill I took an advance driving course. The difference of 1k could mean the difference in flattening a small non-road weary child (who darts out in front of you behind a parked car) or not. Having that on my consious is something that I rather not.
-
Tiz fact. Nothing allegedley about it. Personally I wouldnt be worried about the car manufactures/dealers noting down your number plate... it would be the fact that insurance companies now do it that I'd be concerned about. To stop plate exchanges there now looking at writting down vin #'s as well...

any specific reasoning/incidences?

Use the time to start looking for those shell petrol discount vouchers... After doing this for a little while tomorrow, shes gunna need a
-
damn lucky! If u got the SSS, u might want to leave it in perf mode. Especially while driving in those darn local street zones. The higher gear ratio kind of helps slow ze beast down a little.

Ummm correct me if im wrong... isnt this covered under Ford's new car warrenty?
