  1. Hi Ford_Power, Yep, Sydney NSW..
  2. How one truck arriving from Melbourne, could delight so many souls. It would seem my black baby was on there as well. My pick up date is sadly another seven days away Friday 18th.

    Wheels for XR's

My 'T' is due next month and I plan to immediatly replace the XR 17' with BA Luxury Sports 17'. IMO the polished alloy is a great look. OB1
  4. Mmmmmm Thanks Basher
  5. I wont have my own XR6T (with Prem Sound) until June04. Is it true the CD random function only operates on current CD not all six? OB1
  6. I just ordered a XR6T. I checked four other Sydney dealers but none of them could beat Peter Warren Liverpool (fleet) price.
  7. Thanks again guys. Yes I agree the 'Envy' is not fo me.
  8. Forgive my spelling, I meant “tyre track” not “tire track”. As I have never owned a black car, comments from Zapxr6t captured my fear of owing one. However, it would seem most XR6T owners (in this thread anyway) like the black as their second choice of colour. Large black cars do look awesome. I have not used seat covers for a long long time so unless they fit like a glove and guaranteed never to crunch or move I won’t start now. I opted for SatNAV over Premium Brakes as we plan to do allot of interstate driving holidays (ie 25000km pa). I know it’s a glorified street directory but my wife is excited about the SatNAV and I’m excited about the 240kw. I feel it can only add to my driving enjoyment as I’ll never need to look at a street directory again (concentrate on the apex, speed and tacho). Correct me if Im wrong, the shudder issue with the standard brakes can be fixed under warranty, but the sweaking reported with the premium brakes cannot. I was also unable to find any evidence of improved stopping distance with the Prem brake package. As I doubt I’ll be continuously jumping HARD on the anchors, brake fade (apparent non issue with Prem stoppers) should rarely become an issue. My heart says Silhouette my brain says Lighting Strike. I agree with GlenXR6T the grey plexis is less loud and would be okay with Lighting Strike but not sure about Silhouette. As this will be my first ever brand new performance car, maybe its best my decision should be one of passion - Silhouette with leather
  9. Hi Lads, Firstly, :hiwelcome: for all your valuable info on the XR6T. June04 cannot come any faster as my current Futura lease will end and my new XR6T life will begin. I have selected the following options Satellite Nav, Prem Sound, SideAir, XR Mats&Scuff. Man, how hard is it to pick the colour! Down to Silhouette or Lighting Strike (although I’m yet to see Envy). Silhouette looks fantastic, but a bugger to keep clean, clearly displays all scratches, hot in summer and may showup more of Fords poor paint finish (reported by some). Lighting Strike on the other hand is not as sexy as Silhouette, but easy to keep clean, cooler in summer and trolley marks should be less noticeable. My question - To Trim or not to Trim? How hot does the leather get in summer? Surly it’s not as bad as the old vinyl days to sear the back of a child’s legs. More importantly those with small children, how have you avoided the baby seat leaving a permanent impression in the leather? Alternatively, I don’t really mind having cloth trim, its just the tire track down the middle really annoys me. Has anyone had the patterned section reupholstered to match the rest of the seat? If so, do you recall the cost $$. Cheers OB1

    Manual Or Auto

Thanks again for all your comments. At this stage I think I’ll opt for the auto, but now I’m wondering what the extra features of the Series II will have (supposedly due out Q3 2004).

    Manual Or Auto

Thanks for your comments. Love the site, great work.
  12. Hi Lads, When my current lease (02 Futura) expires June next year, I plan to purchase a XR6T. My question – Should I buy manual or auto XR6T? Would I be right in saying, a manual is a must to get the best enjoyment from that boost of turbo power? If it was totally my choice I would buy the manual (although, when I think of Sydney traffic! :( ). Unfortunately my wife prefers an auto and argues (thank you Mr Ford dealer ) the SSS gear box should satisfy my need to control gear changes. I have test drove the XR6 Auto and kinda liked the sports shift, but hey, it was only a test drive! Secondly, any reliability problems with either gear box? cheers OB1
