  2. Not sure about the exhaust turbine housing-the car just went back to the dealer today. Once they get back to me I will let you know. What are the potential problems of ditching the screen? Probably not 2 blown turbo's I bet!!!
  3. I noticed on shut down you could hear my turbo winding down. It progressively got louder and more coarse sounding until at 80000k it let go-sounded like a circular saw. My car was nearly 3 months out of a 12 months extended dealer warranty (4 years total warranty from date of manufacture in total). I approached them to fix it under warranty as I have never abused the car and always had it serviced by them, to which their reply was they would check with Ford. To my surprise it was accepted. Now the second turbo has let go 3 months into its life. You should really give things a go with your dealer you never know what they will do??? A car even 4 or 5 years old with low km's should not have its turbo blow-especially if it has been serviced regularly.
  4. I had one turbo let go at 80000k (just out of warranty). I approached Ford through the dealer who agreed to replace it under warranty-I was quiet surprised!! Now after 3 months the new turbo has let go. Bearing problems not blades as happened to yours. Have taken it back to the dealer today and await their response.
  5. 240t, do you have a firewall? If so disable it and the video should play no probs bob. I have Norton Internet security & once disabled it played the video fine.
  6. As the owner of a very clunky 5 speed manual XR6T and looking to upgrade to the MKii, I was wondering if the new 6 speed manual has cured the clunk/driveline backlash or is it same old same old?
  7. igsta, I have the same problem in 2nd & 3rd. Hold the stick and the noise disappears. Reported it and they could not fault it. Car is going back for a new diff soon so will take them for a drive and point it out. Hopefully will be able 2 let you know what the fix is ASAP.
  8. Guys I had my xr6t manual in the dealer the other day for some warranty issues 1 of which was a clunky driveline. After rectifying most of the issues they informed me that the clunk was the diff and they had ordered a new 1. I am unsure what they did 2 my car and will have 2 confirm it with them but the driveline is now free of any clunking type noise!!! After reading other reports r.e. diff replacement I am now loath 2 replace what seems to me to be a perfectly functioning diff. The noise 2 me seems to be comeing from the clutch area!!! It usually happens when cold changing from 1st to 2nd & also when changing down gears or when not entirely smooth with gear changes. 1 of the other issues I had rectified was the stalling and rough idle. Don't know if this had anything 2 do with rectifiying the clunk but the car felt like a totally different animal(much better than before)?
