You said it sister - maybe you need to look in the mirror. Wake up - you really can't work out why people are gettting worked up. Ok, let me draw you a picture...................... Next, re-read your own posts very very carefully. Does the word "hypocrisy" come to mind? I'm sure your fellow members are impressed with a statement like: "I don't really give a sh*t if people disagree because I have 2 brand new XR's sitting in the driveway and I don't need to hear from wankers that think I should "show respect" to a moderator." Why do you bother explaining yourself? Oh yeah on an aside, you're also a pretty brave man claiming to be the "Mr 1%" of males who do NOT wank! Honestly, are you implying that you have never "had a go"?

What I want to know is how did he hook up with Rachel Friend? MacGill has the right to say no to the tour and yes I agree with him.

Funny you say that I just replaced my 17" 3000A's after 32,500km.

Uploading photos of other vehicles

I agree, we should blur plates. We only need to refer to the thread on the clamping down on warranty claims. Some see it as opportunity for thieves to target certain cars. I think the individual's request should be respected, and if not sure - blur the plate. -
I just replaced my 17" 3000A's last week after 32,500km with the same last week. I did an Eastern Creek drive day on Easter Saturday, on the old set and they were slipping and sliding. Not sure whether I flatspotted a tyre or lost a balancing weight, but by the end of the day I had mega vibration from the front. Every session after 3 laps, it was oversteer city! EC is very hard on tyres and brakes. In summary, I think these tyres are not as grippy when they are totally worn down. On an aside, I was the only T there! (1*GT,1*XR8 and 2*XR6NA's). I reluctantly opted for the 3000A's again, and it reminded me of when I first got my T and how impressed I was with the grip/handling. These tyres do have a lot of grip. I have no regrets and recommend the 3000As. I reckon a half worn set would stand up much better on the track.

Get out of this town, Holdens are very nice. NOT Scotty Okay then, I missed that point........... Don't feel bad 3rd Turbo, feel down right disgusted in yourself, dirty, disgusting, paedeophilic even. Scotty ...but not quite incestuous KT! Before we slug Expensive Daewoo though, we should direct our filth and at Hyundai, Daewoo (actually Korean for Holden), Kia, Proton et al - now there's some disgusting engineering!

Fleet prices, Sydney (Nth Beaches Dealer): 15k $204 (includes $30 in injector cleaners, flushes etc ---> yet another dealer rort) 30k $146 (no cleaners, flushes this time)

Hey zap, do you have to water it down to drink it or just go with the straight concentrate? Hmmmm..........Also how much of this solution do I need to drink for my wheels to be cleaned?

Again That is definately not my view. What have you done to the VY Berlina to achive those times? My T is stock, and I would be interested in giving it a run. Do you have any dates in mind? I've got a mate with a VYII SS ute who may also be interested. Some dudes take this whole Ford vs Expensive Daewoo rivalry way too far.

I think they just roll 2 dice.

Well I know that the BA certainly handles better than a AU! I'm a bit perplexed by that remark too. :banghead: The BA T is idiot proof in IMHO, compared to a 200SX I used to have (last century) which was an utter handful in slippery conditions and very tail happy with much less power.
-
It would be nice wouldn't it! Well you never know. Best to be on good behaviour!
-
Thanks Boss. Unless it's a case of mistaken identity , marvellous effort on the BA and good luck in Europe!

Hey dsan congrats! Can't wait to see pics of the Mandarin. I have Blueprint (and so does evryone else), if I had my time over I'd go for the Blood Orange/Madarin path too! Do some research on the fabric, paint and leather protection and consider saving the $$$'s. I personally think it is a waste of time. It's an old trick used by dealers to screw the customers. Let me guess that they placed your order, and then you were passed over to some young blonde glamour who talked through the various accessories/treatments available. Service dept's also have their fun, by using various engine oil additives/flushes and injector cleaners! Best to my knowledge not a single manufacturer, oil company or fuel supplier deems these products necessary.

B.M.C panel filter extra 5rwkw
3rdTurbo replied to TBO240's topic in Fuel System & Induction Workshop
Call me cynical - but can a filter on its own add 5rwkw? Has anyone tried doing a dyno test with and without an air filter on a stock car? -
I didn't realise that the repitition action wears away and sharpens the woody........

Don't be concerned that Falcon is #2. I would bet that Ford are making a larger profit per car than Holden. Note that Expensive Daewoo has a higher capacity to build more cars than Ford. The problem with this is, it must also sell them too as the significant investment they have made to upgrade their manufacturing capacity means that they must shift stock. Hence the discounting. The VYII has not been as well received in the market place as the BA. There are some pretty good deals out there on the VY's. I saw an SS ute 2003 VYII incl leather in my local paper for $35k plus onroads. This may hurt resale in the short term. However, this may all be shortlived with the VZ around the corner - new V6 and auto transmissions. They have much technological ground to make up to catchup to the BA - but in due course they will come back and raise the bar again! Secondly, with the strengthening of the $AUD this year, Holden's margins on it's exports will also be slashed. Out of curiousity has anyone voluntarily traded their BA for a VY?

The current issue of Wheels mag mentions that they forwarded their 6 point plan by letter (outlined in the previous issue) to each of the respective state govt transport ministers (all Labor) and the c'wealth govt(Libs/Nats) for comment. It stated that only John Anderson (Federal Transport Minister) has replied and that they will publish the reply in the next issue. John Anderson has been frank on this issue in the past. I recollect him talking along the lines that he believes that the state govt road safety policies need some revisions and that they should focus on all road safety issues not just speed. On an aside he seems to be a car enthusiast and drives an SS Commodore. Putting aside the Expensive Daewoo v Ford crap for the moment, he is probably the best chance in the medium term to turn the tide and expose the states for not being frank and truthfull on road safety issues. I'm also glad that Motor are tackling this issue as well. Maybe we should all draft letters (as individuals) and send them to our local State and Fed MP, the State Transport Minister and the Fed Transport Minister. As Mack stated in another thread the pen can be very powerful!

XR - About every 20,000-30,000km, all 3 turbo cars (incl Nissan and Toyota) I have owned, have had loose bolts to the exhaust manifold/heatshield. The T has been no different. My advice is that anytime you put the T in for a service/warranty work - ask them to inspect/tighten the bolts to the exhaust manifold.
-
That was exactly my experience. Per my dealer invoice for my 30,000km service: "Checked and replaced the surpintine belt as worn due to idler pulley casing, cleaned casing and test". Problem is now fixed.

Plonky - You sarcasm kills me on these topics! I'm sure that a lot "hot parts/cars" will be display. Should be a lot of P platers in attendance. Maybe the clincher to get you out there is if we can confirm that "Performance Bodykits and Stickers" are sponsoring the event! I trust that Team Hyundai will clean up in the awards ceremony. They are favourites to pick up the "Rear Foglight" award for the 10th straight year.

Peter - Does this require a Unichip? Or it an option to your Phase x kits? And I take it the boost increase will be limited by the injectors. Sorry to hijack the thread.

Yes, I've included GST in the residual figure, and yes, the lease payments are inclusive of the appropiate FBT amounts based on 25000km. I went thru Custom Fleet. Yeec, that's a good deal. Sorry to play devil's advocate.

Scully is now Roads Minister - not sure on the Labor Party logic as Costa is the Transport Minister. Anyhow a search on Mr Scully to the NSW Govt website reveals what I always suspected. Click Here for link ----> Carl Scully No data available. I.e That he has nothing to offer to society.
