  1. All turbos seem to have this problem. I had the same issue with a GT4 Toyota and an S14 200SX, check the bolts every 10,000km.
  2. Also look at: PPP's (Public Private Partnership's) Private Health Care Private School Funding Private (Government Employed) Job Agencies Religious Charity Organisations Lumpy <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Lump, This is class envy politics. Latham played this card and Labor still use it from time to time. This issue only resonates with bludgers, the inner city cafe latte set and the doctor's wives club. Take Private School Funding. Private citizens are paying for their child's eductaion with their own after tax dollars in many cases >$10,000 pa per child. This effectively pays for >60% of their child's education costs with the rest being picked up the govt. BUT, pay attention now my friend, the govt contribution to the private school pupil is LESS than if that pupil attended a public school. Put simply this is a saving to the taxpayer!!!! Same with Private Health Cover, you pay around $1,000pa per person with after tax dollars with another 30% chipped in by the govt. AGAIN, this is cheaper than the govt picking up the entire bill for everyone's health procedures. I could go on and on......... To conclude by getting back to the topic at hand - If we reduce spending by eliminating waste and broadening the tax base with lower tax rates we are on the right track. BCL's proposals are spot on!

    Question

they guy is not interested in going to get it done.. too much mucking around for him... will I get the remainder of the warrenty when I buy it off him? can you go to any dealer to get it fixed? <{POST_SNAPBACK}> yes you can.
  4. Chris - I do stand corrected. Yes, I do think that you deserve compensation. Either a straight swap to another Ford based variant or a full refund. I would now change my vote to YES from NO. It now depends on whether you are prepared to wait and move on OR do you want out? If you want out - then go for a refund or a GT or XR6T.
  5. I understand your frustration. But I still voted No. This is a grey area. Correct me if I'm wrong, but the solution offerred is as follows : 1. a full refund OR 2. swap to GT OR 3. a GT in the interim while the Typhoon clutch issue is rectified and to the new clutch spec. Like people, businesses f&*k up all the time. Ford Motor Co seem to have taken it on the chin, albeit belatadly. For this reason, I believe the the above alternatives do form a reasonable offer. If it were me, I would enjoy having a GT for a few weeks/months - and getting a real feel for it. Thrashing the crap out of it! Now, I am guessing that the "piss off" factor is prevalent, probably due to: 1. Delay in Ford recongnising the clutch problem 2. Treatment by the Dealer in general 3. Having to get out of the GT into a Focus 4. Rather not deal with hassle. 5. Possible resale impact The 5 points above are valid reasons to be frustrated with experience. In a nutshell, Ford have certainly done themselves no favours by not appropriately supporting their customer's choice of solution offerred. I.e. no customer service and poor PR. FPV are not obliged to pay any further compensation IMO. No doubt, FPV will risk losing future sales over this.
  6. You seem to be playing second fiddle. From your perspective it's probably not so black and white. There does seem to be a consensus that your relationship does not appear to be as solid as you want it to be. If you do decide to dump her, don't leave the situation wondering if you were too rash in calling it off. You seem to be very fond of her, so maybe give it one last shot. I reckon you should tell how much you like her etc etc. (Put yourself out on a limb). Let her know that you are uncomfortable with the "other dude" and that you would only be interested in the relationship once this "dude" is out of the picture. Ask her then and there to be honest and tell you if she can do this. If she agrees, problem solved for now. You will need to keep an eye on this as she is unlikely to detach from the other dude straight away. This will take time - maybe months. If she pauses or says no, then ask her if she needs a few days to figure things out. THEN - DO NOT MAKE ANY CONTACT WITH HER!!!! Wait for her reply. This way, you will know for sure where you stand. Forget the importance of who breaks up with whom! It's all ego anyway! I mean if you break up, and you're not speaking to each other - who's gonna know (or care)???? Hey man - good luck with whole thing!!!
  7. That's wonderful news that you have a lead!!! Hope they find these low lifes!!! But no matter how tempting it is, don't confront any suspects and take the law into you own hands!!! Easy to say, I know....and man it must be tempting to cause some serious harm to this scumbags!!!! I know it does not compare...... I had my '98 Nissan 200SX stolen from Stanmore in 1999 and it was found in a really dodgy unit complex in Bankstown (no offence to any residents of Bankstown, but this part of the world gives me the creeps) . Car was found sitting on the brake rotors, they scratched the paint with some gang insignia (???)and took the stereo, bits of trim and the apexi boost control unit (but not the wiring!!!). All up around $20k (no jokes) to get the car back on the road. The car was insured and luckily I was not out of pocket. I really hope you get all of your cars back and that you are not financially worse off either!!! Keep up the great work and pursue all available options to you.....and thanks again for keeping us all posted on this.
  8. After owning a Nissan turbo (SR20DET) and Toyota (3SGTE) and now the T, I have notcied that the turbo bolts on all three 3 of these cars do get loose or sometimes are missing altogether after 35-40k. Get the dealer to tighten them every time you go in for warranty work/servicing. Guys, I don't think it is Ford QC issue. It sounds like the dealers are not performing this check at all or regularly enough.
  9. Too true. They used to be nothing more than competitors of AWA, Kambrook etc One Sales rep at a Retravsion, I spoke to 5 years ago told me the same story (that they used to be Goldstar) and referred to them as "LUCKY GOLDSTAR"!!!! They have a huge marketing budget but not much engineering flair. Much like the Korean motor industry, I don't have have much time for korean eletcronics. If it's badge engineered (from a Jap/European model), I would consider it. I bought a 130cm Panasonic Rear Proj 4:3 (made in China) for $1900 last year. Great bang for the buck! The sound from the built in speakers was better than I expected. Practically every appliance in my home is Panasonic - never ever had a problem with them. They seem to lack some features compared to the competition, but the ease of use and durability of their products is impressive.
  10. Care to elaborate? Your post made no sense to me - call me dumb.
  11. My 03 T has 52k, and has not needed a single top-up between 7.5km oil changes. This also included a track day. Take it up with the dealer. This consumption seems to be way too high - 5.7L. Maybe try another dealer.
  12. Reside in the leafy Hills District (more leafy now after last Saturday's strom) and commute to [drum roll please] Frenchs Forest via the M2. Usually on patrol on the M2 flashing right lane hogs and keeping those Korean cars at bay on the M2 about 7am every morning!!! Haven't been on a cruise yet either, would like to attend now that my house is under control.
  13. I reckon the 0-15 range reduction in the fine is for newspaper "headlines only." There are no other corresponding fine reductions!! This charge used to be 1pt, now it 2 pts and is now proposed to be 3 pts!!! What about 15-30 and 30-45???? Vintage Carr/Costa spin doctoring..... This measure still masks the revenue rasing mentalility of the Carr dictatorship.
  14. Typhoon - great post, and thankyou for sharing your experiences/observations with us. Strange reply cbd. Rumour has it, you studied marketing/PR with Street Tuna!!! The writing style appears to be very similar. I will stand corrected though. The only key difference I have noted is that cbd is actually a sponsor of the site. Any knucklehead can figure out that Typhoon is from Adelaide and is in his mid 20's by taking a quick glance at his profile. cbd - Put forward you credentials and explain yourself.
  15. Fancy tackling these issues on the M2 Plonky? You'd have a field day. We need more like-minded HWP Officers out there! Always, appreciate your informative posts.
