Thanks for your replies. Well, what can I say.....I have had a smile on my face all day. The F6 is such a waste cruising around, just begging to be given the boot. But I am showing some restraint, every now and then. It is such a joy to drive, cant explain how sedate it feels. That is untill the revs start to climb in a dramatic fashion. I have been using the auto shift in manual mode to alternate the revs. One thing though, as all engines that make some serious power they do get thirsty quickly. But with the odometer only sitting on 150km it is early days and will start to lean off after 3000kms similar to the XR6T. I am loving the new car leather smell, cant get enough of it. One more thing, the look on try hard Clubbies, WRX and Nismos I came across today was priceless when I gave it a little squirt every now and then. They have been coming out like I was a target of some sort. Must have been the area I was passing through. I know - THIS POST IS WORTHLESS WITHOUT PICS. Will try and find a spare minute and put up a couple pics. Now I have to wait another 8hrs before I can sit behind the wheel again..... Cheers.

After ordering in Oct and waiting 45 days for the "demo" period to elapse, I finally get to pickup a nitro F6 Sedan on Monday. Is there anything I should look out for before I sign off and pick up this tame beast? The weather on Monday should be great to learn how to drive these things. So....what is the consensus on a new F6 - drive it like you stole or baby it for a few weeks???? I better change my sig.

Car already ordered with deposit, take delivery in Jan or early Feb.

So true, together with the government Business 50% Bonus Tax deduction and standard annual depreciation it makes for a cheap buy over the coming years. Cant wait!

New Nitro "showroom demo" F6 sedan, approx 20km, 19" dark argents, leather, auto, reversing camera for $61k. Also been quoted $65k on similar spec by other dealers so shop around and squeeze them.....
-
I have seen the F6 in Vixen and Winter white. Both suit the car, with Dark Argents look great. The White/Black is a bit plain on the F6, great on the GT though with decal stripes etc. I'd go the Vixen.
-
Thanks for the feedback, helped me decide on the Nitro with dark argent wheels. Vixen was my preferred choice but already have a read car for the missus. Ego or dark greys are everywhere and feel it doesnt suit the F6 as well as lighter colours, that is unless you hate the front racoon eyes. Oh well - 2 months to go and counting....
-
They are the more popular colours. Would have gone Vixen but already have a red car, Octane is no longer available and Viper looks great today but feel I might get sick of it down the track. Lightning Strike seems too plane jane. I'm stuck between a rock and a hard place........ decisions, decisions.....
-
So guys what do you think re my options???
-
Need some help with colour choices. I have narrowed down to the Ego or Nitro both with the Dark Argent wheels. But I am a bit concerned with the overall dark look of the EGO as you also loose the front nose "warpaint". Maybe with the standard rims.... I currently have a Blueprint BA and would not mind a change in colour. BUT the Nitro with the dark rims look awesome. Anyone out there with an F6 in Ego and dark argent rims regret their decision? I am stuck and cannot make my mind up.
-
I am also looking at a F6 sedan. Been offered a showroom model auto with 20km, Viper, Leather, reverse camera and optional dark argent wheels for $64k drive away. What do you think, has anyone had a better deal? Is there much room in these to move? Cheers

Hi guys, My BA XR6T sedan is due for a service, been a bit rough when loading up with a bit of exhaust fuel overburn etc. So I thought now would be a great time to get a mild custom tune, nothing over the top eg 320rwkw. I would be happy with 250-270rwkw. I have no plans to go racing. Which tuners in Melbourne do you guys recommend that is affordable and what flash tuner should I go with. Capa box seems a bit expensive and I hear there a cheaper alternative in the Sniper??? Any good? What else are my options? The only work I have had done is removal of the centre muffler and a CAI. Thanks in advance.

Found a missing bolt from the manifold/turbo resting on the side of the turbo and another quite loose! Refitted and tightened all bolts - problem solved. Thanks again ETM.

Thanks ETM, I will check all the bolts and hopefully I'll find one missing or loose. Cheers

Hi guys, need some help. My BA XR6T sedan is relatively stock other than centre muffler replaced with two hot dogs and custom air intake. All of a sudden, today after going over several speed humps my exhaust began to sound like a truck! Had it checked at a local exhast shop and everything is good underneath. It seems the loud exhasut noise is coming from the engine bay/turbo/exhaust manifold. I took off the heat shields and all the pipes to the turbo and down to the dump pipe seem normal. Rechecked an tightened - no different. Noise is coming from the exhaust header - looked ok from the top, is it possible it could be cracked? Has anyone had a similar problem? Look forward to your reply. Cheers Frank

Burning Oil Smell/odor In The Car ?
XR6T4ME replied to XR6T4ME's topic in Interior & Exterior Workshop
No, no smoke/steam coming through the vents or engine bay. I noticed today I have coolant leaking near the thermostat and air cond pulleys - whether it is burning and causing it will see. Will check/replace the fittings and ensure there is no further leak before I look into the heater coil. Cheers -
Burning Oil Smell/odor In The Car ?
XR6T4ME replied to XR6T4ME's topic in Interior & Exterior Workshop
Geez I hope not. I cant say mine is worse when the car is switched off. Would say it dissapears other than a slight smell if you put your nose in between the bonnet gap. I have a strong feeling mine is related to the smoke that came out when the car was ideling for approx 10secs. With the bent and chiped turbo blades did your turbo make any unusaul sounds Mick? -
Hi Guys, Need some feedback/assistance. A couple weeks back I was waiting for the lights to turn green when some smoke began protruding out via the bonnet/windscreen gap. I immediately pulled over to try n find the source. It only lasted approx 10 secs. But I could not see any more smoke or anything burning. I took the car to ford for a quick check in the engine bay / under the car and they found nada. Now I can always sense a burning oily smell /odor protrude via the interior air vents. Mostly when I turn the fan or air cond on. Sometimes it is worse when I am driving as air flow is forced through the vents. Where is the pickup for exterior air in the engine bay coming from? Maybe something near that has melted or is burning? I am not leaking any oil or see any oil on the headers/exhaust. Could it be hidden under the heat shields? When I park the car in the garage there is definetely an burning oily smell coming from somewhere up the front. Has anyone had this happen to their T? Your help would be apprciated as I do not want to send the car to ford for a full check up and get slung with a bill for $100s even if they find nothing. The car is out of warranty. Cheers

Also, if you are with Bigpond forget Vista. They do not communicate with each other. Yet anyway. Just need to wait untill all bugs are sorted - give it a good 12months. Cheers

As most have stated, important to get a full medical before you undertake huge weight loss. Just by getting your blood tested by the likes of Sureslim they will give you a diet to follow and it is amazing how much weight you can actually loose by banning food groups you would have thought were healthy. We all handle various toxins, sugar levels etc differently and by knowing what your body is doing and what it can / cant handle you are half way there. Add a cardio n weight fitness program and you have the tools for success. Also mind over matter, get you mind to focus on one week only and what you want to loose in that week. Whether it be 1 or 2kgs. Then set yourself up with 6 small meals evenly spread throughout the day. Start with your biggest meal of the day - breakfast. Bowl of low carb cereal (Vita brits), slice or two of toast (no spread) two fruits, a cup of youghurt and alternate cereal with 2/3 eggwhites (toss the yolk or give it to a pet). Then midmorning a cup of yoghurt or fruit, lunch a salad with tuna/chicken (no bread), mid afternoon a cup of yoghurt or fruit or small tuna salad and dinner no later than 7pm a small piece of fish/chicken/meat with a nice salad serve. Finish up with a few serves of fruit approx 9pm and you are done for the day. It is also a good idea to do your exercise in the morning b4 breakfast. At that time you will gain more than at the end of the day when your body is fulll of energy to burn. Maybe a walk after dinner to assist burning it off. Keep your mind on the job, have a photo of what you looked like at your peak weight to remind you where you do not want to go again. Goodluck

Thanks guys, it seems the Premium / PBR up front is the way to go with original dimension slotted rears. I want to avoid brake squeal at low speeds (thanks Ford!) and excessive brake dust so will choose the pad accordingly that will decrease both. BATURB, aware of the distances and as stated the PBR template avoids picking the wrong wheels. Have not heard of any others with Premium/PBR setup that have come unstuck following the correct guidelines. Some wheels will not fit and others will - been there and it as a 50/50 hit miss. Premos it is then. Thanks once again for everyone's replies.
-
Interesting you say that, read it somewhere that BF XR6T/XR8/Territory use a Twin spot rear caliper. I used the PBR caliper/rotor wheel template b4 buying my rims and had a couple cms to spare. Some have these fitted with factory 17s. So it should be all good.
-
Thanks Falchoon, Now you got me thinking? Damn I have HR18s on it at the moment would have to check if they will fit.....hmmmm Doubt I would find a 2nd hand set - can only imagine the total package price Front n Rear. Nah stick with Plan B.
