  1. Without going into the situations I've encountered and boring everyone with "war stories", the general trait is to under-react to a threat. I have worked at two police stations where there were less than half a dozen Constables (junior police) on the roster, the majority were Senior Constables (The "experienced officers"), most with over 20 years policing experience. 30 Senior Connies, 20 years each, that's 600 years policing experience in one station. I have never copied a trait off TV, in 5 months in the academy there was one training video that contained an American (and that was a video teaching particular comunications techniques; nothing to do with weapons/fighting). Do you honestly think we spend 5 months at the academy watching Blue Heelers and Law and Order? I'm not sre why I am still surprised at some of the that I read... PS. I haven't watched the posted video, that's not what I'm commenting on.
  2. Ease up Turbo! These particualr ones are British. Not in Victoria.
  3. Wow. After the crash you could left the centre consol to grab a mint or get a new CD, but the engine would be in there!
  4. Great video, hadn't seen it before!
  5. Its time to check again. There are numerous pieces of legislation that give police, and in some instances other authorities, power to search a vehicle or a person. The Control of Weapons Act (The CoW Act) and the Drugs, Prohibited and Controlled Substances Act are two common ones, but there's the Fisheries Act for instance. Nothing to do with radar detectors, just answering your question. There are several more but have just finished 14 hours at work and a bit brain scrambled. The last result I saw for a radar detector in Vic was $2,500 fine. That was about 2.5 - 3 years ago.
  6. Millsy?
  7. I know someone with a TE who uses it to tow....I'll let them reveal themselves if they are interested. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Hmmm...? Wouldn't happen to have a position of authority here at the forums would they? Phil, Perhaps your mate is confused with the clause that tells him not to tow when the car is brand new (first 500kms?)

    He's Done It

So for that matter its the quickest XR6T in the world, and therefore the known universe! Holly sh!t Craig, the quickest XR6T in the entire Milky Way! Bloody good job! The hard work, $$$ and patience has paid dividends!
  11. I was bored at home today and thought I would ad one of these to my car, which everyone seems to agree is the starting point. Cheap 2nd CAI mod If you can find where to get the pipe by the metre let me know.
  12. Went to do this mod today but I couldn't find anywhere that sold the pipe by the metre. And now, having read back through the thread it seems that some people haven't gained anything from it other than the induction noise. If that's the case, I wouldn't bother. Does it improve throttle response at all?
  13. Yeah, its the newer version of the 7610. Mine is near a year old now.
  14. So what mate...when I lived at my parents place there were heaps of black marks all leading from/to their driveway. All from the massive amount of burnouts I did on the way out, and the hand brakies I did on the way back... <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Isn't that called ing in your own nest?
  15. Nokia 5110 Nokia 6210 (or 8210? can't remember) Nokia 7210 Nokia 7610 Waited for ages for the 7610 to come out because of the 1 megapixal camera, and it takes 10 minutes of video, I just can't change the video into a format that can be watched on anything, despite the fact it comes with RealPlayer on the phone. The still shots with the camera are fair to good, unless the zoom is used, then they are sh!t. The video is sorta ok if the phone isn't moved around much. It does play MP3s as ring tones though, and having a 60meg memory card in there a reasonable choice can be added to the phone to select from. Only criticsm is its too big,
  16. autograph? crawler!!! well done champ!!! cover and 10's in the same week now we know what you were waiting for!!!! <{POST_SNAPBACK}> I've been in DNAL SDRAWKCAB for the last week (Northern Territory) and I get back and Geea has smashed his way into the tens and made Performance Ford Mag's cover? Top Work!

    Vaporate

The picture I saw of it made the device itself seem like just a washer. FYI, it was the picture in the NT Times already mentioned that also featured the "designer". Maybe if we all added washers to our household taps we'd stop wastage there too (as if that would work! )
  18. Another vote for team VENOM. Does that mean we're winning now?
  19. Great work on the purchase! Now I just have to try and keep up with all the name changes going on!
  20. If its the call to the towing company, then its Crank Yankers, the show that appears on SBS. All very funny.
  21. Jebus! That's driving!
  22. G'day, Flying up to Darwin tomorrow morning for a week. I think I'm staying in Palmerston(?). If I see any Ts driving around, I'll wave. So, T drivers, if you see a lanky, pale 6'5" tall bloke sweating profusely and waving, just put thewindow down and ask if its me. Don't think I'll have net access up there, and won't be online again here before I go. Mods, Tried to post this in the NT thread, but wasn't able to. Move it there perhaps?? Onya, BA_Turbs
  23. I had the same thing happen to me. Was driving down Princess Hwy, and this blueprint XR6T came racing down and pulled beside me. At 80k's he went down a gear and ripped away well over 100km/h + Then he slowed right down to at least 60 for me to catch up and did this again! 4 times...!!! Then he lowered his window, and gave a smile and spun off to the distance. I knew it was a cop in the first place, with heavy tinted windows and shade screens to hide the back blue and red lights, he even had two FPV stickers on the back either side... Rob... <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Would this not be considered entrapment, and therefor not legal. Maybe once, but 4 times, WTF. Seems a pretty low act. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Too much Entrapment does not apply here. Its only relevant to "The Bill". This does not mean that what was done was fair or right, but "entrapment" doesn't come into it. If you were issued with a penalty notice in this instance my suggestion would be to go to court and explain the behaviour to a magistrate.
  24. Who would have thought? I have no idea about the technical side. I know the car feels better after its been serviced. Anything I am saying in regards to this reflash issue is stricly based on my limited experience. BA_Turbs
