    Vic Police.

VicPol does use XR6 Turbos. They have no such modifications as "No speed limiter". To clear up all mis-conceptions that people have about police cars these days, they have a higher capacity wiring harness (possibly alternator as well). This is for the radios, the light bar and all the other associated police electronics, same as a taxi has. In fact, in Victoria at least, it probably costs more to fit out a taxi than it does a police car as taxis have Computer Aided Dispatch (CAD), polcie cars still don't. The dash is also police spec, although in the BA its not the visually different unit it was in earlier models. Police cars, the normal XT/Executives have NO options at all, not even LSDs. They are bog standard. Same with the TMU (Vic Highway Patrol) cars, if it ain't standard, they almost certainly won't have it, unless, like the premium brakes, it may become an OH&S thing. PS there is an unmarked XR6 Turbo in the Frankston TMU, that's how I know that VicPol uses them, I've seen it! BA_Turbs
  2. I hear where you are coming from dude. I sold my EL Fairmont Ghia a couple of days before the estimated delivery date of the Turbo... Silly me. The turbo was delayed a month. Two weeks without a car, then the last two weeks in a VR Executive! I nearly would have been better on a skateboard! (To the dealer's credit, they could have told me to go away and not lent me a car at all). Point is, it's going to be very hard to give up the borrowed VR for the Turbo....
  3. Have only got another few days to wait and its mine. - Venom - Leather - 5-Speed - Premium Sound And a few other minor dealer options. How many other Venom owners out there? Am only new to the site and all I read about is the vaunted "Team HgAg"!
  4. Found out what the hold up was, and to the dealer's credit, I dealt with Ford Customer Service and now have some kind of understanding about what they are up against! Anyway, anyone out there who is "on the verge" of delivery of their turbo will probably find that their car has been at the FPV factory for a little while because there were no front spoilers. A truck full of them arrive today, dunno if the spoilers are moulded in the correct colour or if they get sprayed, but once they are on the car, they will all begin being shipped to dealers over the weekend, so middle to end of next week until the shiney new Turbs is in the driveway. But KrasH, like you say, I had no issue waiting once actually knew what was going on and the BS from everyone stopped!
  5. Dankman, I have a Venom XR6T on order through a Melb dealer and was told two weeks ago that the dealer would "have my car Friday", then a couple of days for pre-delivery also. I got the same line today, that the dealer would have the car Friday, I would have it about Wednesday next week. It's starting to wear thin. My issue is that the car has supposedly sat in the same place in the production line for the last two weeks (going off your last post, I now assume that to be FPV), but the dealer can't even tell me what the hold up is. Very, Very frustrating...
