VicPol does use XR6 Turbos. They have no such modifications as "No speed limiter". To clear up all mis-conceptions that people have about police cars these days, they have a higher capacity wiring harness (possibly alternator as well). This is for the radios, the light bar and all the other associated police electronics, same as a taxi has. In fact, in Victoria at least, it probably costs more to fit out a taxi than it does a police car as taxis have Computer Aided Dispatch (CAD), polcie cars still don't. The dash is also police spec, although in the BA its not the visually different unit it was in earlier models. Police cars, the normal XT/Executives have NO options at all, not even LSDs. They are bog standard. Same with the TMU (Vic Highway Patrol) cars, if it ain't standard, they almost certainly won't have it, unless, like the premium brakes, it may become an OH&S thing. PS there is an unmarked XR6 Turbo in the Frankston TMU, that's how I know that VicPol uses them, I've seen it! BA_Turbs
