Oi all, Mines a May '03 build. Had first new gearbox at 12000km, second at 12600km (yep 600 k's) third at around 27000km and then just a top gear "set' at about 38000km. They won't replace complete boxes any more, just the real dodgy bits. Mines at 47000km now and still going OK. Oh, went to adjust my drivers side rearview mirror on the way to work this morning and the little twirly knob fell off! Now that's what I call "remote adjustment", it's in my pocket!! Ciao Steve

At f*cking last...........just got off the phone to JMcG's service manager (he rang me !!!!) and they are replacing rear discs and parking brake bits at no charge. Would have saved a lot of grief and ill-will if the flea in the service reception had admitted right from the start that I had a legitimate gripe. So my T will be back at JMcG's at least 1 more time. Dunno after that........... Ya got fight hard to get anywhere with this lot.

Hey Track, that's exactly what I've been considering, but all over the vehicle with arrows pointing to the offending bits! I think it's tops!! Hamish rang me last Friday, the day following my fax to the JMcG service manager (bit of a misnomer, that ..... SERVICE??). "Coincidental", I said, Hamish says he knows nothing about my letter to the dealer, but maybe a bit funny that it took him 21 (yep, twenty one) days to returm my call, and then the day after I revive my rage!!!!! Hamish still says it's between me and the dealer and not a warranty issue, so I guess I can just *beep* off, as far as Ford is concerned, and as far as JMcG is concerned I can just *beep* off too!! See what happens eh! :cussing:

Rang 13FORD again this afternoon around 4.30 and got the machine that tells you that the Ford hotline is "unusually busy" at the moment...I can understand the complaints line being busy (this is Ford after all), but don't believe that that is unusual for a Ford complaint line. Left my name and number again...............can only wait.......... Sure am missin' Hamish! Steve

What's ford customer service's email address - I deleted the email re Car of the Year after my mate Hamish ignored me continually. Appreciate anybody being able to tell me Thanks steve

OK, anybody from the dealers want to comment on the frequency of this problem and what fixes were applied? Obviously a fairly widespread problem, and on top of my 3 new gearboxes, 2 timing cover seals, 1 crank angle sensor replacement, 2 front disc machinings bla bla bla ............. had a gutfull. Dealer won't admit liability for maladjustment/warped shoes/bent bits/whatever and Ford won't even recognise my existance, so feel a bit out on a limb!! Steve

Exactly my intention, but I still have to deal with a sh*t handbrake and that crappy grinding noise for now. Won't be any more McGrath vehicles in my motoring future! A lot depends in Hamish now!!! Ciao Steve

Anybody interested in a presenting a collective case to Ford? This ain't gonna go away. Steve

Oi, Want to share another Ford experience with the group. Had my parkbrake adjusted at around 30.000 k's by John McGrath Ford in Woden. This was because the parkbrake lever had "gone vertical". They charged me $83 to carry out this procedure, which I argued unsuccesfully. Vehicle was back soon after because of the swoosh/grind/squeak/complain noises come from rear discs due to handbrake shoes dragging. The parkbrake was adjusted without charge. Vehicle was back to them again for same thing, swoosh/grind/squeak/complain noises coming from same place, again adjusted without charge and an explanation given that this is "common/normal" At 45000km service, I again requested that the swoosh/grind/squeak/complain noises are a constant cause of parking lot embarassment and would you please fix the %&*#@&^ thing!! Collected the car after this service (Friday 5th November) and was told that the rear discs and parkbrake shoes are badly worn and need to be replaced, and that this is NOT a warranty item, as brakes are normal wear and tear. WTF!? Maladjustment of brake shoes is apparently my fault!! I was charged $53 for this adjustment, and the swoosh/grind/squeak/complain noises STILL PREVAIL! Rang 13FORD that afternoon and spoke to Hamish, who says "not under warranty". I argue my point during a 35 minute phone call where I sit on hold for most of that time while Hamish speaks to McGraths. Finally Hamish says he'll ring me back by Tuesday 9th Nov. Hamish didn't ring! On Thursday 11th November I ring 13FORD again, and am told that Hamish is busy on the phone, but is looking after my complaint and will ring me back in 15 minutes. Hamish didn't ring back! I am a further 6 days down the track, and still no Hamish. Oh, almost forgot, I did get an email from Ford a few days ago, proclaiming the new BA Falcon as "Car of the Year". Better not forget to ring Hamish and offer my congratulations!! If you have the dreaded swoosh/grind/squeak/complain noises eminating from your parkbrake, dont put up with it.........you gonna end paying for new bits. NOT HAPPY JAN !! Ciao Steve

Maybe I could just wring the bastards necks with me (grey) cardigan sleeves!

evenin' folks, Here we go again. Gearbox No 3 has started crunching into 5th gear. Off to see the dealer again and see if they will install No 4 or replace the 5th gear synchro. Hope they've found a cure, gettin' a bit jack of this crap now! Anybody having this sort of repetitive bull**it? Ciao

I have a hard cover in the black leather-grainy stuff - looks good on the HgAg, but restricts load height too much, so I normally use the soft cover. I had the front of the soft cover modified to fit around the hardcover hinges. I only use the hardcover for security, normally on weekend trips. HgAg utes look sh*t-hot either way! Ciao

Oi, spent a short time next to a new Canberra Police car on Hindmarsh drive yesterday morning. White manual XR6T, BIG blue and white checquered band and lots of orange/red dayglo stripes............... and a little sticker beneath the Turbo badge that says "WGR Boosted" ...Wot is that?? Can't find any info, but the turbo whine and exhaust note were brilliant. Ciao :w00t:

Never fought Danny Green. Green has been goading Mundine for years, but "The Man" won't step into the ring with Green - maybe smarter than he seems, Green will annihalate him.
