    BRAKE SHUDDER ISSUE

    BRAKE SHUDDER ISSUE

Car back from dealer , disks machined NO NEW SHIMS fitted. Rang service manager to enquire politely as to why , "Got a gobful , like what the F*#k are you talking about. We have not replaced shims on ANY BA Falcons." Thanks for the service Ford, looks like another dealer in the future.Cannot be bothered with this lot.Looks like I will just have to wait for the shudder to return.

    BRAKE SHUDDER ISSUE

My Beast was picked up this morning for a service by a Ford dealer mechanic ( not my local , but the Fleet Ford Dealer) , and was running them through the "shudder bug issue" and asked what they were going to do to rectify it. Quote" yeah we will get a bloke out to do an on car machine of the disks" I then asked about whether they would fit new shims ? "What new shims ? , never heard of that" Politely suggested that he find out about it."No sorry sir we just machine em" Starting to get P*ssed of now, and explained that new shims must be fitted . " I will have to ask the boss about it" Then asked that given the prevalence of this problem why he had not heard of the Ford Fix to which he repliied " I dunno " Looks like a typical Ford Fob off. F!*#ing buffoons. Next job flame service manager
  7. Mack A question if I may ? Have you been elected 2IC due to the abscence of your exulted supreme commander " his most emminent Greyness" What makes me most curious is the process that deems thee most worthy? Yer Killin Me Is there the possibilty of a mutiny on the good ship grey ? Now that would be fun. aaaaarrrrr Kenny It be your turn in the barrel

I am also still considering mods and would appreciate any feedback as to what is generally acceptable to the insurance companies , if so which companies and what have been the increases to premiums as a consequence. in advance WhiteTee
  9. Ice Mint , more like Ice Mince I reckon
  10. Curious Mt Cotton is an excellent facility,my company put me through several defensive / advanced driving courses there whislt iwas living in Qld. Though it was quite a number years ago , in one word INVAUABLE It certainly brings any youthful pretense of driving expertise down to Earth with a heavy thud.

  17. Chrisso A big welcome, hope U enjoy your time here , it gets addictive. As per other posts , go the Premium Stoppers and Sound before anything else. Have U considered Winter White ? Looks good and is not common as muck. This will also allow you to sit back and enjoy from a far the inevitable "Colour Wars" battles.
  18. I am currently running my T on a Novated lease ,my company grosses up my pay by 25% to run a car pre tax. At the end of 3 years on 15000 ks P/A I will have to get about $19K for it to break even after 3 years. Worst case scenario from a personal budgeting perspective. Important to note we buy boggin loads of Falcons (xts) and landed my T on road for $41K(Sorry Guys) Last car an XR6 VCT seies 2 I picked up $7k in the wash up. Looks like a series 2 or new model white GT or T FPV (depends on what goes hardest & handles for best your buck) in another 2.5 years. Redhawk , you reckon the wait is killing U ??? Mods will have to suffice in the interim , first being those slimline plates.LOL WhiteTee
  19. mmmm,Slim White Plates with Black Print on a White T ......and better airflow. I think a call to the RTA is in order. Will post the response Monday.
  20. A few things AXW01 Most importantly, U and all those in the cars are all OK. The beast can be repaired.t it is definetly the fault of some scum other bag, and the repairs will be ok if U pick the right shop . I hope that all is fixed & well for the Hols , no doubt a road trip in the T ?. Hope the beast is still the same awsome car it was ,when U get it back. Feel your pain and probably anger & frustration Good Luck , White Tee
  21. Miss Xr Given the withdrawals, I hope it is sill on ??? AS this is my first cruise I have been looking forward to it. Understand however that work/study can get in the way. hence this is my first. Just hope the initiation is not too severe, Ken luckily is OS( if his posts can be trusted), so should be bearable.
  22. Same here - I drive a lot in manual mode but I have a lot of trouble getting a smooth change from 2nd to 3rd. It's like you have to have the revs spot on to do it. I suppose I'll get the hang of it as I've only done 3,800km. Drive about 90% in Manual mode with the SSS. you will get a modicum of shunt if you shift down at very low revs , particularly from 3rd to second. It is however most prevalent if you change from manual to auto( RDP) after coming to a complete halt. Solution = treat it mean ,no probs when being given some. LOL. It is supposed to be a performance car , seems to like it a lot better punching another gear ( up or down ) @ higher revvs. Had the beast 7 months , still cant get enough
  23. Zeke The site is my sanctuary, where else can I call how it is ? 1 years after an expensive divorce settlement I am I n no rush to repeat the same financially neutering experience. Courageous maybe ,on her toes yes , stupid absolutely. Wrong thread D'oh
  24. All Count me in , me , current SWMBO and of course the T. See you all for Brekky @ 830 to try and ward off the evil of tthe night before. Really looking forward vto putting faces to names. Oh and of course the sight of a convoy of Ts Cheers , See U all on the 16th
  25. Geeseman Had a liiitle run with a V8 xt ...........forget it, less weight , 20 more Kws standard and the Ts boost and torque spread between 200rpms and 4500rpms = no contest . It was over from the start.
