  1. I ended up seeing an XRT in the Sydney Trading Post yesterday for $60k !!
  2. This is all very interesting because at the Sydney dyno day I remember seeing the Manuals go from about 200kW with the standard filter to about 205kW with no filter at all. Can someone that also went and tested it (I think Ris?) might be able to add a few more comments
  3. I've been to their website, and am familiar with what they are doing, except that they don't actually say how much they are boosting the Turbo to. I'm just interested to know the figures for comparison purposes
  4. You know how you find yourself staring to the other side of the club/pub after a hard night drinking (or the other side of the lounge room when the mrs is talking), look at this picture the same way and I'm sure you'll see it :D
  5. Just wondering if anyone knew what PSI APS were using for the 4 options they currently have Phase I 280kW - 9 PSI (I think) Phase II 330kW - ?? Phase III 360kW - ?? Phase IV 390kW - ?? I'm just curious
  6. This is a picture from www.magiceye.com which I thought was pretty cool. Have a look at it... do you see what I see?
  7. After seeing those pictures, I'm very interested to see the finished product. When do you think they'll be finished?
  8. That's strange!!! Mine's an Auto, I don't know about the others?? Would this make a difference to the sound?
  9. I've lined up against AU's and they get the jump on me almost every time! This never happened in the old XR8. The XRT is no V8 off the mark, and that's why I think those that come from a V8, like me, notices the lag
  10. With so much torque already, is a 6 speed box good??? If you assume 1st gear is the same, or higher ratio, and 6th is the same, or slightly lower than 4th (Auto), or 5th (Manual) now, is 6 gears going to improve acceleration? I mean 1st gear in the Auto ends so damn quick I couldn't imagine how quick it ends now in the 5 speed manual let alone a 6 speed box. And what if you increase torque further, put in a stronger gearbox, wouldn't less gears be better????
  11. Read the Mag, and this thread. The centre muffler was removed totally. I'd be surprised if it is illegal as removing it still stays under the ADR threshold which I think is 90dB. Reading Zoom, the XR6T is 87dB. Removing the centre muffler increased the sound a further 1.5dB. Is there a link to the EPA site that states that it's illegal?
  12. My diff seal was replaced around 4500km's It was picked up by an independent mechanic.. I wonder why it wasn't picked up during the 3000km service It was inspected by Ford
  13. Don't know. I picked it up Saturday but.
  14. Buy the new Zoom Mag!!! It wasn't my imagination after all!!! 17rwkW from taking out the Centre Muffler. OMG! Only 1.5db Louder! Anyway, buy the Mag, it's a good read!
  15. Yep, great day. Nothing like whizzing past some horse manure and slamming on the brakes just to find out it was $2 a bag! Great day, and looking forward to another Also, for the dummies... What does a dog do? He fetches a stick!  Thanks Andrew
  16. I owned the AUXR8, and upgraded to XR6T. Had both cars on the track, and I must say that the AU was more reassuring (at first) than the XR6T. The reason I say that, is because you can judge how quick you can take a sweeper straight away with the AU. The BA feels like it's going to lift up, or take the weight from the inside wheels, and just as you think 'Oh, sh*t, I've come into this one too quick' the BA seems to rectify itself... don't know why?? But once it does it then feels better as it goes through the corner. Also the AUXR8 was better for feeling understeer, however at saying that the XR6T is able to come into the corner much quicker. So in short, I think once you are use to the BA characteristics it takes the corners better, you just have to trust it will behave itself  Hope this helps
  17. I've removed the centre muffler. It's an improvement worth doing! No drone at all, and only slightly louder, with added burble. The centre muffler is straight through, as the rear I think, so you can see (or should that be hear) the difference is quite good, while not being loud at all!
  18. The words of Jim Carey in "Dumb and Dumber" come to mind "SUCK ME SIDEWAYS!"
  19. I'm glad someone else has joined this exclusive club! B) That's 2 for the "remove the centre muffler" Club I agree, it's a good, cheap, improvement
  20. I've removed the centre muffler, the sound is heaps better. It's not much louder at all, just a bit more burble, especially at idle, if that makes sense? I initially noticed more power down low, but this could have been my own imagination because of the better sound
  21. If you turn on your rear demister it's louder!!
  22. Does anyone have pictures, even of the Fairmont?
  23. My old liquid silver XR8 was great until I replaced the front bumper, the bumper looked different in certain light on certain angles, but I was told this would happen. Was one of the reasons I didn't get silver
  24. Fordboy, It's been back to the dealer about 6 times. I use my car for work, Taxi's are expensive when your using them alot, and also a day off work because the car is in a Ford Service Centre 100k's away from where I had to be, costs me a days pay Ford won't fix the windscreen noise until I can tell them where exactly it's coming from! It's driving me nuts, cause sometimes it's there at 100kph, and sometimes not!! (Sometimes not till 120kph)
