  1. I'm hearing stories about a 5 speed auto. Has anyone heard about this? If this is the case I may wait and just tweak the T a bit till the new auto arrives?
  2. I need to spend some more money (Car Allowance). Besides going for something totally different I have 3 (Ford) choices. 1. Buy a new GT, and do some mods (Exhaust etc??) but how much do I spend 2. Buy a new F6 3. Mod my XR6T, maybe Unichip and Exhaust? I love the sound of the V8, but it doesn't feel as powerful as the Turbo! This is the only reason I'm thinking not to go the GT. I'd have to mod it! Any suggestions/help would be great
  3. I had Ford replace the pads due to wear. I do think $270 is quite high though.
  4. I've just had my disc's replaced (again) and also had Ford replace the pads with their "new" designed pads ($270 ouch!). Anyway, has anyone else had this done? Apparently the new pads don’t require the shims?? Any comments would be great
  5. Yep, I've had this problem for about a month! I hope to have it in to be fixed next week or so. I'm getting sick of seeing the service departments!
  6. Now I'm worried!! What can happen? And why would Gaugeworks recommend to install the gauge this way if it's NOT a good idea?

  9. I was thinking about going out to Eastern Creek and have a look at the Drags on Saturday (I've never been). I'm half thinking about giving the car a run (Stock XR6T) Is anyone going? If so, let me know who to look for and I'll come and say hello Mal
  10. Guys, Can anyone give me some thoughts on replacement brakes (or kits) that work? I have had my rotors replaced/machined every 6000km, and I now have 30000km and it's ready for another ford "fix". I want rid of them (which I don't think is unreasonable) and am now looking for a full replacement. I'm happy to replace the rotors, pads and even fluid, but for obvious reasons I'm reluctant to replace the calipers (unless I'm told otherwise) Any thoughts (personal experience, real fix) would be fantastic. Thanks

  12. $400 is not what I was expecting. At that price I think I rather put it toward a unichip, CAPA, or whatever power upgrade! Anyway, see what the new price is, and I'll make a decision from there Thanks Edit: New Topic. Found HERE.

  14. Sorry for my ignorance, I've been absent from this site for some time. Can anyone tell me if the Boost Gauge that was going to go in the Fairmont clock face has been finished. I can't remember who was making this, but I thought it looked quite clean and was hoping to get one. Thanks Mal

  17. Just thought I'd say I was surprised that someone would shell out more than 5 grand for this power. I'd be interested in other comments. My opinion is that for 5 grand I would have picked up an 8 and had it supercharged (either SV8, or XR8) There were 3 major players, APS being one, Steve's beast, and another CNC, or CNG (something like that) all asking similar prices What are your thoughts?
  18. Sounds great. So tell me, what does the chip torque mod actually do. Can you scan in the dyno sheets? I'm personally interested in off the mark (bottom end torque) more than anything else. Did this improve? Thanks

  20. I think I read in "Motor"... maybe it was related to the Targa car?? but I'm sure I remember reading that the Auto was good for 500nm (Manual 450nm) did anyone read the same thing (maybe it was Zoom??)

  22. Silver outside with blue plexis? Oh, don't do it! I have blueprint with blue plexis, and the blue is very blue... it is very similar in colour to the outside, but obviously just on the inside I have had customer seat covers made up (to protect the seats) so the blue is now only on the doors. It looks good on the doors, but all blue is a bit much IMO
  23. The doors are the same as the AU, and I'm sure their innards are the same as well. My old AU was broken into, and after putting part of the door back together I now know how easily it is! I'd say I get into an AU within 1 minute! After being broken into, I don't leave anything in the car any more. I leave the centre console, and glove box open, so if someone was curious, they can see there is little point in taking anything, cause there is just simply nothing to take!

After driving the SSS Auto for 9 months (and previously having Auto's and Manual's) the SSS is just like flat changing in a slick euro Manual box... try that in your crappy Ford Manual and you'll be leaving bits behind! Who needs a clutch!! I have a quick, flat changing Manual, that doesn't drop it's internals!! Boy's, it's called the SSS Auto. :D The year is 2003, Sophisticated Performance!! :D - All in good fun
