So you guys are actually saying that the NA XR6 (and maybe XT) have the same exhaust, while the XR6T has a different setup. I mean it would make sense, but I haven't heard what the turbo's sound like. I should have a fair idea come Friday, which is when I pick up mine... Turbo of course!

I removed the rear resonator/muffler on my XR8 to get it sounding like a V8, and not a vacuum cleaner sucking through a pair of old socks. I don't know what the XR6T sounds like, but I do know what the NA XR6 sound like... is there a great difference in sound between these 2 cars, and coming from a V8 am I going to be disappointed??

There is a "NSW Tickford" Club, The guys there are real keen on their cars. Maybe it's worth joining forces with those guys??? I think they are taking a vote on creating an joint FPV/Tickford Club. Most of the cars are EF, EL and AU XR's see http://www.nswxrclub.org.au for more info

I've never had a Turbo Car, would an exhaust change be that dramatic??? Given say a WRX, what power increase would an exhaust change give, anyone know??

I heard that you can't change the exhaust without losing you warrenty... is this really the case???

It would be the SV8 with their "power" option kit (windows, cruise, mirrors), etc. A lower body kit, It's quite a good package actually, and on road for around $46k

We'll see what happens then.. I actually understood that Ford had spent a lot of time and money on reducing, or at least balancing, up the heat through the head

Bribed no one. I was actually seriously considering buying an SV8, I know, I know... but it's a V8, and it's in my blood. Even though the XR6T is of course "better", but part of me (the skippy part of course) has a hard time giving up the 8. Anyway, when I was talking to the dealer, I said that I'll make a decision to buy an SV8 today, unless he could convince me otherwise... the rest is history!

Call me a dumb skippy bastard... but not much goes past the sound of a V8. At saying that... give the man a XR6T... you've got to love telling your mates... "yeah, I don't mind your car, but I just picked up myself a dual overhead cam 4L 6 with VCT, and a factory Turbo pumping out 240kW!!... oh yeah it's drive by wire too!!!!!"

I've driven the NA XR6, and not meaning to take anything away from the car, the old AU XR8 is soooo much quicker. Sure it's not all about power, but hey, you can never have to much! Good luck either way, and besides... what you don't buy today, you can modify tomorrow

I thought I heard of some "radar" type detection device on A Current Affair. I didn't see it personally, but if it's legal it could be worth picking one up in your situation.
